any free faucet to play?

Unfortunately not, we now require all users to deposit to play Sad

In the past we had a faucet, but unfortunately it attracted a lot of the wrong sort of people (abusers and professional beggars) so I removed it, which had the unfortunate side effect of making it annoying for new players to try the game (wait for a deposit). So in the near future (~1 month), I'll add a small faucet (with a limited amount of claims per ip address) to assist with trying the game

I see a lot of people practicing playing on Bustabit playing on Bustaclam using Freebitcoins faucet to play.

I can totally understand why bustabit doesn't have a faucet on site, but I can also see the importance of being able to practice.

There are some new sites that have the same game and it has a faucet look at this site :

Not very polite to link another site on a competitor thread. You should consider removing the post just out of good will.

If I remember correctly, when Bustabit was still called MoneyPot, it had a faucet? Why did they remove this feature? I was very active on this site, and the faucet helped to fund the experiment. I might confuse this with some other site, but I can remember something like this?

The few Satoshi's being handed to people via this faucet, cannot bankrupt a site?

I dont understand why there is need so.e practice in this kind of game? All that matter is chance and luck in every gambling site and without those thinga,  I dont think that you can get anything. May be if you using low amount to tested it, you can know how this thing work

Bustabit is a bit unique in the sense that there is actually a small aspect of skill (bonus hunting) so practicing definitely can help. So if you want to try play against real people and not worry about losing anything then bustaclam might be a good option

But what you really need is some profit though not something try like this. Let say if you can win big amount on bustaclam does not mean that you can earn through bustabit too though. So I think that playing in something unreliable really wasting time. You can analyze it too on bustabit and of course with real money and real profit

It was discontinued to prevent serial fauceters from hanging around the site without contributing anything themselves. An unlimited faucet attracted the wrong type of people to the community. There was been talk of implementing a limited faucet (per IP address) to give players a chance to try the game. But if you were already very active on the site, you already know the game and are just looking for a risk-free way to gamble with someone else's money?

Yeah, we used to have a faucet and it was no doubt instrumental in making bustabit take off. However right now, bustabit has 408 players online and AFAIK is currently doing the most volume of any bitcoin site (see: https://thebitcoinstrip.com/leaderboard.html) so I'm not really hurting for business.

I think when I did have a faucet, faucters took up a disproportionate  (80%? amount of support tickets, normally because they would create a whole ton of accounts to use the faucet, and then need help recovering passwords (and even usernames!) or complaining about getting muted in chat for asking for money, or complaining that they can't withdraw for free etc.

So even if the faucter made business sense and would end up making more money, I'd rather have a bit of a less stressful life and leave it out. I also believe a lot of the fun of gambling is risking money.

That said, I'm going to re-add the faucet for trial purposes, so someone can come to the site and see how it works before they decide if they want to bother depositing or not. The way I plan on doing that is through a faucet-claim limit per ip address, the ends up permanently blocking that ip address from the faucet.

Understandably there are a lot of people who want to purely use a faucet and gamble without any risks, and the great thing about the bitcoin scene is there are whole bunch of reputable sites that offer generous faucets.

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

In addition to the IP, to prevent abuse just have more captchas.  Solve one captcha for the first claim, two for the second claim...five for the fifth claim.

An alternative, you can present the user with 10 captchas, 5 of which are real and 5 are which are from a "solve a captchas" bitcoin paying service.

5 captchas solved are worth about 3 bits and should provide a nice way for users to fund the faucet for you.

What do you mean by "current odds"? The engine.getCurrentPayout() will give you the current multiplier, and from that you can turn it into a probability, if that's what you're after

Ah, thank you for the detailed response. I can now see why you stopped the faucet and given the same situation, I think I would have done the same. I would supplement it with small "money drops" administrated by Mods to incentivize activity and funded by the site owner. You can decide on the budget and then distribute this to people who would be willing to do this. < Just make sure they get a % for their effort, to retain them >

If people know that a site have small "money drops", they would stay longer <idle traffic> and possibly gamble more? These drops will also go towards "active" users, not all registered members. ^smile^

Hi guys i also got a code question , this is my first post on this forum. I play bustabit sometimes and i wanted to make a script which get the bonuses.
What i'am trying to do at the moment is to show in the console who cashouts, when he cashouts and the cashout amount.

In the API i see this :

/**
* 'cashed_out': Event called every time the server cash out a user
* if we call cash out the server is going to call this event
* with our name.
* @param {object} resp - JSON payload
* @param {string} resp.username - The player username
* @param {number} resp.amount - The amount the user cashed out
* @param {number} resp.stopped_at -The percentage at which the user cashed out
*/

So i wrote this

engine.on('cashed_out', function(resp) {
console.log('The player ', resp.username, 'cashed out at ', resp.stopped_at/100, '. The cashed out amount is', resp.amount);
});

Result in the console :

The player ghounit cashed out at 9 . The cashed out amount is undefined

So my question is :

I dont know why resp.amount is "undefined"
since it works for resp.username and resp.stopped_at

I need something to show the cashout amounts since i would like to make a script based on this.
Thanks!

Good question. This really should be exposed better. So when a player cashes out, it only actually says who cashed out and what they cashed out at. So in order to know their original bet, we'll need to look it up.

This can be done like this:

Code:
engine.on('cashed_out', function(resp) {

   console.log(engine.getEngine().playerInfo[resp.username].bet);
});

Ok so, I suppose this is a little off topic for this but guess how many shits I give? I would like to applaud Ryan for being able to deal with these idiots day in and day out explaining provably fair for the umpteenth time. Top notch work man. I barely ever come around here but just did some catching up and holy fuck it felt like the same thing on repeat.

Peace.

This should be available in the next release, I'm getting pretty close to releasing a (public) beta soon, which will use the bitcoin testnet. After that there will probably be a few weeks of testing/playing/on going work, and then it being deployed on the real bustabit  Grin

bustabit v2 teaser:

Thanks to @cowbay for the idea. The ability to "precredit" deposits for a small fee so you don't need to wait on confirmations. And I'll probably extend free-precredits as a VIP feature for established players Cheesy
