Congratulation to endless_pain for an awesome finish to the night:

Not only working his way up from 8 BTC in the hole to 38 BTC ... but ending with a 15.1 BTC win!

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

Due to rampant faucet abuse, I've temporarily disabled it. I'll try use it as a bit of an experiment to see if not having a faucet attracts a different crowd =)

In other news, we've passed 350k BTC wagered, which is just incredible!  Grin

That sucks to hear, but I guess its the reality of bitcoin until someone comes up with a truly abuse-proof faucet scheme. You know what they say, where there's a will, there's faucet whores scrounging for free fractions of a penny.

I am just curious, how much was your faucet payment? It must have been some really hefty amount of satoshis so it attracted professional faucet suckers.
In that case just lowering faucet reward should be enough, it is a waste to disable it.

I believe it was 2 bits (200 satoshis), so it had nothing to do with the reward amount. I think you underestimate what people will do for a little bitcoin Cheesy

The faucet size was 2 bits per hour but then it was increased to 3 bits per hour in February (IIRC, not very certain). Also, it is different from faucets in many other sites as users can claim the faucet with a nonzero balance.

I guess someone has created to make a script able to claim faucet and then created a huge number of accounts with that script running. This is the only way I can think about someone may spend his/her time for something worth it : basing on the 3 bits per hour rate.
If actually they were claiming it manually then....am envious because someone has a lot of free time

bustabit now has a csgo skins version at csgocrash.com.

though about doing it long time ago and finally someone made it.

p.s. are they aligned with your open source "rules"?

They actually bought a copy of the source:
bustabit.com/license.txt

and seem to be doing a lot better than original! Kind of amazing really, I'm glad for their success.

(It's been a while since a version of bustabit was released under an opensource license, but any copied used with that has the condition it must stay under the same AGPL license)

I'm confused about what it is that site is gambling. What are the "coins"?

I made a steam account and deposited $5 worth of BTC into it. How do I get 'coins' to play with?

Quote
What is a coin?
A coin is a one thousandth of a dollar ($0.001). Coins are backed by Steam skins. You are able to deposit and withdraw coins at any time by going to your account page.

Quote
How do I deposit skins for coins?
To deposit, head over to your Account page. Make sure your trade link is properly set. Once you’ve done that, go to the Deposit page, select up to 10 items and then hit Deposit button.
Keep in mind that some low-value or low-popularity items are not depositable.
Make sure the security codes on both the trade offer and the site are the same

So im guessing your steam items skins which you wanna bet gets converted into coins.

AFAIK both being lucky in-game and trading on steam and/or "skin exchanges". I still don't fully understand it either, probably someone could give a specific site where you can buy those skins.

I did notice lately that this "skin gambling" is actually pretty damn big. There are sources that claim it's bigger than "cryptocurrency gambling" (and by looking at "self-claimed $ stats" of some sites, they do look pretty big.) BTW, most sites also claim to be provably fair, but actually aren't Sad (typical 30 second P2P raffle, "here is a hash so it's provably fair".. "meanwhile we add a winning house player".) I still don't know if there is like a central forum where all those players/sites communicate.. pretty much still a mystery for me how that skin gambling community works Tongue

Anyway, getting bit off-topic here.. but IMO it just shows once again that bitcoin gambling is still relatively small and has so much potential for the future Smiley

As what NLNico said, can be traded, bought or received via in game. Some skins cost extremely high. Have a look at https://opskins.com

Maybe I'm a too oldschool gamer and didn't get things right; but, in case I'm understanding it correctly, are there really people around willing ot spend $ 200 to buy an ingame item?

You'd be surprised mate. Seen people spending tens of thousands a month on Clash of Clans (mobile game) and also on DOTA2 items. Havent really played CSgo my self but yeah, there are a lot of people who spend a lot of  money on in game items or to speed up in game progression.
