^  Transaction volume is not indicative if BTC is actually being spent or not.  It could mostly be going in and out of exchanges.  And if you check the mempool out, it’s pretty much almost empty most of the time lately.  You could send a transaction with just around 1 - 3 sats.

And replying to Millionero’s post, maybe there’s just not enough interest in XMR...  -_-

Complete and total utter lack of awareness.

I would LOVE to be wrong.

The thing is this type of thing begins to appear adversarial.  And Monero is lost in the choir of "But XRP", "But Polkadot!'

Well well, spikey spikey.

Been awhile.

Maybe supply pressure is finally kicking in?

Well, not for nothing but we caught a Golden Cross today guys. Smiley

ADDED:

You TA guys wanna explain to me what this mean on low volume?

All I can find is something that says there is a buying attempt without available assets to fill.

I am definitely NOT a T/A guy.  But I do have some unqualified thoughts.  Smiley

We do not have the sort of volume that is going to escape the noise of manipulation and whales splashing around.  That said one reason the golden/death cross is considered valuable is that it happens based on two fairly slow moving averages which will smooth out some of the noise/variance.

I am having some problems seeing what pair and scale where this is the case...  1d?  xmr/usd?

Thank you  Roll Eyes
I do not truly estimate that, but on the young start it tastes like it. If it does so, i think there will be a quite decent rally upwards.
Personally i am more interested in the late March 2022 price of ~2.000€. Let's see if that drops in  Cheesy

You might think this is all in hindsight but in my defense, it was expected as shown in my post in the BTC speculation section.  BTC is going thru a dead cat bounce and this encouraged the rest of the market to pump a bit.  And with BTC being this huge influencer in the market, when it was time to drop, almost everything else dropped with it.  So on low volume, it didn’t mean anything.

XMR goes up when BTC goes up but not be much but then goes to lose more value than BTC if it drops low. I think it shows it pretty clear in the XMR/BTC chart since 2018.

I must be missing something... here is the 200/50MA pair on the daily:

I was thinking the same.  On the current trajectory a more conventional 200/50 golden cross in late Feb/ March might be on...  And traditionally Feb is not a bad time for XMR.  It has also performed well after BTC cyclical peaks (see late 2017 - early 2018) but let's see how it pans out.

Generally the whole market is hard to read.  To be honest I really thought BTC was due to to do FAR better than it did in Q4 2021. Like many others I expected fireworks galore and euphoria.  Now I don't know what to expect.  Bitcoin hasn't crashed yet - as we have seen after previous blow-off tops - so, maybe the bull is not dead. On the other hand, it doesn't look like there is any upwards pressure on price either.

Monero picking up now is both interesting and refreshing.  I hope this move has got legs.  That really would be sweet.

OK!

So many times, we have been here.  XMR/USD at strong (and critical) support:

Same sort of thing in XMR/BTC:

It would be fairly sad to see the price breaking either of these, and devastating if we lost both...  That seems EXTREMELY unlikely.  So for the first time in ages, I am a buyer.

So proud to say I bought at the recent bottom...  But was it THE bottom?  Or just the next bottom.  That is the question.

OR!!!

Is all the recent action from people playing the "monero pot" game?  I have to admit I bought one entry. Smiley

The drawing is in like 9 hours I think,  Which one of you made this?

Well... I am still in the dark!  As I must be the dumbest Monero fan of all time.

All I do is hold what I have since 2014, while now and then BUYING some more like I did on 12/14/21.

So, maybe I saw it too?  But what did I see?

There are quite a few challengers to that title but cracks me up that some of us are like old farts Monero wise Smiley I think this year will be very important for growth and I expect accelerated adoption in plenty of places that have been waiting, watching on the sidelines etc. regardless of what happens in the overall market (which is relevant for price action). In the past another way to attack Monero has been to divide interest by increasing competitor chains, all of whom have pretty much abused the lack of formal system in place & ripped off the market. I see pretty much most of tired and the beaten (or even scammers themselves) respecting what was built here.

ZCash I think is going centralized POS and again we know how centralized systems are only going to attract VCs, fraudsters and Pump and Dumpers. That chain has self deprecated into irrelevance in the bigger picture except price manipulation and backdooring into centralized exchanges. Their problem is that BTC already exists for CEX price action.
