I felt, watching things for a few hours last night, the dumpers still wanted it to go down further but they seemed to not be getting the same impact they had at first.

And of course then there was a huge wall both sides of the price so not sure the plan there? make everyone set bids in between to be eaten? or whale warz?

Am I to late to go and buy $2500 worth of Monero? or good investment..?
VerY bad idea. And how does a newb with 5 posts get a negative trust rating??

Staying on topic: Investing in XMR is never a bad idea.
Oh, c'mon! It's a totally bad idea right now.

Putting money into an asset that went up by an order of magnitude in a few weeks goes against pretty much everything I know.
But I am doing it.  I don't even need to, I can live for years on what I've made with this coin.  But I see a risk/reward profile that I can't refuse.  So I'm doing this apparently crazy thing.  I just shoveled a couple dozen more btc onto polo and bought xmr.
Have you been watching the order book?

Monero was a bad investment for 2.5 years. So this is just the correction. Summer 2014 the early adopters paid pretty much 0.003+ for their coins. They have held it for so long time, felt the pain of bitcoin express threaths to destroy Monero, felt all the painful and bloody dumps while the coin should have been rising to 0.01+ levels.
So, the current price is still low. In my opinion the fair and stable price currently should be somewhere around 0.10 btc and in 2017 higher and probably 1-2 years from now we can catch bitcoin. If I am mistaken, please do not hold me guilty - it is just my estimations that have a lot of bias of bagholding.  Cheesy
0.1 BTC?? LOL that is funny.

And once again it's time for "The Dance Of The Trolls!"

0.05-0.1 BTC. it's a real possibility.

From the current level 4 legs of 50 % each and we are at 0.1 btc.

I am not sure if 0.10 btc will happen this year, and I am not planning to sell my Moneros if I need to waite a little longer to achieve that price point. I think the probability of 0.10 btc or more this year is somewhere around 20-40 %.

Question to the active traders on Poloniex: is there an option to get notified when your order has been filled? I would like to prevent keeping my XMR and XBT on the exchange longer than strictly required. But don't like to manually check each day either.

Can't find the option on Poloniex, but maybe there is an external website that notifies you when a certain exchange rate is hit?

- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.

This. Exactly exactly this. This rally is compressed the way it is because 2 years of injustice slowly and steadily coiled and compressed this spring of retribution. It didn't need to be this way. We could have had a slow and steady rise at a measured pace. But people in this space often arent concerned with fundamentals until they bite them in the ass.

I agree... I do think some of these obscene sell walls could be owned by people outside the Monero community trying to squash this rally. I have no proof of it but, it just seems so extreme that I wouldn't expect our community whales to be a part of it.

If they are short sellers they are very very brave. I wouldn't be taunting the bull like that myself. Maybe it will work for them. But I don't think its a posative expected return on investment.

In the old days, 100k ask was a legendary wall, 50k was a big one, and 25k sometimes got noticed.

On the buy side, more. Because BTC was easy to get and XMR was cheap.

you could look at coinigy, a 3rd party platform that lets you trade on exchanges by api.  it has the option of setting alerts to email

It looks like I need to be logged into Bitcoinwisdom + behind my PC. Not really what I was looking for, more in search for an email or SMS service.

Looks like the dumpers are losing steam (volumes are declining).

The bitcoin price drop is due to the rise of bitcoin price. The US dollar is more or less the same. If it can keep up with the bitcoin price, it is even better.

BTC is about to... show them who the boss is.
Pray tell, what is the substantive basis for your statement?

Bitcoin is not going anywhere man. In terms of network effect and security it trumps all other alts and that is the only thing that matters in crypto. Gimmicks and extra features of other alts that think they're better than BTC are meaningless. Now XMR actually does something unique which is being utilized and it will see real demand coming in... that's the only reason I'm even messing with it. In the grand scheme BTC is still the king

Monero is doing well right now but people seem to forget that it has a history of rallying with a year of downtrend. We went up significantly over the last week, there is no gurantee that 0.026 wasnt the top for this year. BTC looks ripe for another rally, it's waited long enough
