Nanobrain, do you think Monero will be embraced or at least tolerated by China? Why or why not?

I do not believe how people are taking short positions. Almost all the Moneros from lending markets are now employed....  Shocked

I've been noticing this. I cannot fathom how someone sees this as a value positive risk. If we move up sharply, like we have on three occasions in the last month, it's going to be brutal..stop losses wont save these guys.

Maybe they know something we don't

The shorters really need Aminorex to give markets in case this moves up. If it goes down, they obviously can close their positions and walk away with hefty stack of bitcoins the shorters were able to squeeze from Monero.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowball_effect

"The common analogy is with the rolling of a small ball of snow down a snow-covered hillside. As it rolls the ball will pick up more snow, gaining more mass and surface area, and picking up even more snow and momentum as it rolls along."

I don't see any problems with XMR taking the same trip ETH did. Posting a prediction that in less than two months from today the market cap of Monero will be more than 1BN.

I understand that this is not about me, but rather than let anyone think that I am something that I am not, I would interject that I have never been a major maker and I have largely stopped making market because the bots seem to be keeping spreads pretty tight, and the large moves make it dangerous to be too much in bitcoin. (Try never to do anything a machine can do better.) But do please feel free to use me as a rhetorical foil.  It helps validate my "legendary" narcissism.

Longs need to borrow Bitcoin not Monero

The major difference is that Monero lacks the marketing presence that Etherium had. We may develop some marketing when the GUI is official, but it is likely to be much more grassroots because of the lack of prominent venture or corporate sponsorship. This may slow the rise.

I must say that fluffypony is certainly fulfilling the role of vitalik as a public face, with excellence and maturity.

I think that's a good idea but it's one that would probably be better voiced within the reddit subreddit.

Number of transactions almost doubled in September.

Last week was on average 3.5 transactions / block
Last month was on average 2.04 transactions / block
Last year was on average 0.53 transactions / block

I am sure if way more then doubled compared to July.
This month starts the awakening of monero, the price is really predictable from being down big this day to 0.018 then back at the range of 0.02 in less than 24 hours, easy money for those investors who have a bigger capital,it is good to trade monero this days.

You don't take into account those that accumulated at <.0015, Whales playing with profit always have a huge advantage to those using new money.

Not if you want to dry up the ammo for the shorters. From what I've gathered on long leveraged is it has to be short term.

Question in regards it to a cold wallet, moneroaddress.

When depositing coins to your cold wallet, you can check to see if you received them. You just have to enter the view key, public address, and tx id on xmr.llcoins.

Now, how can I check if there have been any transactions since you've initially deposited them? Verifying that there hasn't been a hack on your wallet>
There is currently no easy way to do this. However, in the future there might:

What would be the best currently available (though not easy) way to do this?

You're a lot more likely to get help with things like that on the main Monero thread.

As it has been said several times, the sell walls are short positions. Whenever a hefty scare wall appears, the interest rates soars. Therefore I am not afraid of them.
Actually it is a way to make money to buy those walls and set equalent amount of Moneros for sale 5-10 % higher.

When you talk about marketing comparing Monero to early days of Bitcoin is more accurate. We already see 'free' MSM marketing on XMR. Interest in the technology good or bad doesn't matter much it is genuine and give coverage. XMR does what Bitcoin was marketed as and when MSM found out the truth about Bitcoin they lost most of the genuine interest they had.

I doubt many realize what a journey this'll be.
