That was from over 2 weeks ago. If you have been following things you'll know that fluffypony is not doing the beta binaries because there are still bugs.  Yes there is information all over the place so it's sometimes hard to keep track. Just yesterday there were some GUI commits.

As far as I know he means the issues reported by medusa, which you can see here:

As far as I can see from the commits, all issues have been fixed except #26. Also, not sure about #29, but that's more a feature than a bug.

It absolutely increases the anonymity factor, in a material fashion. Since the anonymity factor is the primary, if not exclusive, relative advantage of Monero, it logically must increase the fundamental value of XMR by some monotonic factor.

Even the slightest amount of Monero earned would be cool. Is there people out there that have success with this technique? I am looking to try it, though when I mined an Altcoin before it was around 7 kh/s...wasn't worth it with the coin I was using...

is there a command on linux I can run to check this? Sorry, not much of a hardware guy despite my past....

If you don't have the cpuid utility installed then

grep flags /proc/cpuinfo

Look for 'aes' in the list

Personally I think its worth it to do a little bit of Monero mining right now.
I've mined about half a coin just using my video card and some CPU mining on a spare computer over the past week or two.
It may not be much right now, but if the price jumped up, it could be very profitable.
Imagine if Monero was worth even half of what Bitcoin was. You would be very satisfied to have mined one or two coins!

0.3 XMR/minute is correct. 0.6 monero per block at 2 minute target.

I have an Nvidia GTX 950 running most of the day, and I have access to a few computers.
None of them have anything special as far as processor goes, just some mid range i3 and i5 processors.
When the computers aren't in use I will have one or two of them mine coins for a couple hours.

The price is too low currently and still has the possibility of getting dumped more till BTC0.012 so still a chance to buy it lower if you think that the price will be worth BTC0.5 some day... That being said, I think that buying it and holding would be better than mining it because mining has gone way expensive ATM and I think that trading it will be better IMHO...
