I'll wait for sub 0.015 possible even 0.01, even a bagholder needs to have standards.
Reasonable, I guess. I have too much FOMO not to buy below 0188. Gradually, of course. I consider these cheap coins, discounting from a lower estimate of $25 in 2H2017.

It's hard not to be disconcerted about the lack of a GUI after more than two years. I know it's coming "soonish", as it has been for 1+ years. However, at this point it's certainly holding back adoption at a time when adoption is poised to explode.
Got a pull request? Complaining accomplishes nothing. I think everyone understands the situation. If you can't contribute code, your dev fund contribution is quite welcome. I have contributed to the dev fund. Can you please direct me to the thread where I can speculate about how the lack of basic UI features may affect the price? Perhaps a Monero speculation thread? I understand the GUI gripes are tiresome (here's looking at you, N-rG). The "Fuck you. Go code a GUI." responses are getting old too. Make stupid posts, win stupid responses! The more the bratty moonchildren pout about the lack of an Official GUI, the funnier it gets to me. As if stomping their feet and repetitiously asking "are we there yet?" will speed up development. These high time preference neurotypicals are like the Gavinistas, unwilling to wait for proper Layer 2 Bitcoin scaling and loudly demanding Something Be Done "Right Meow!!!!1!" When I watch my friend's kids and they start being overbearing about a request, I tell them further nagging will result in penalty delays. Despite being only a few years old, they understand instantly and stop whining. I propose we cancel the GUI project entirely, to buy the community a few more precious months off putting of our Eternal September.

Despite being only a few years old, they understand instantly and stop whining. I propose we cancel the GUI project entirely, to buy the community a few more precious months off putting of our Eternal September. The funny thing to me, though, is that I guarantee that these people who are complaining so much are probably all the people still holding some silly margin position on poloniex and/or don't want to "lose money" because they bought at a higher price; and " surely" a GUI will help them get back to square one or possibly make some profit. In the future after the GUI has been out and the circle jerk frenzy of "speculators"/"master minds of the market" has ended, then they will surely find something else to continuously harass the devs to fix right now because of muh user adoption. I will go ahead on record and say that this future problem will probably be the scalability/file size problem. Look new guys, I know it's frustrating to have to learn something new to be able to secure coins if you are just coming into Monero or cryptocurrencies in general; but I honestly hardly knew anything when I first was introduced randomly to Monero and just by continuously asking people for support on reddit, IRC, here, etc. I figured pretty much everything I need to know out. The community is just nice like that. But in order to get helpful answers to your questions, you can't just be a dick and shout "LOL, * insult comment here Obviously you could do just X, Y, and Z but this is just a shit coin anyway, LOL*". I think deep down, the people complaining so much know they could probably figure out how to compile the GUI from the source; but they wouldn't want too because they think 1) the "CEO" of this "company" should do it 2) It should be easy for everyone, and I wouldn't want to invest in this thing if it's not easy for everyone, or 3) If I actually created a wallet I would have to actually send funds to my wallet, which would mean I would have to cancel my margin positions... "bu-but muh gainz!"

Pretty nice pump for Monero holders...hope everyone made some good profits. Waiting to see how low it goes before buying back in. This made up for me missing out on the ETH pump.

@Blazed if you want to earn a lot or lose a lot there are many coins on Poloniex daily being pumped. You can get x3 or more a day. Or lose.
As a gambler you don't need to wait for ETH and Monero to play.

I wish I had more money to buy Monero for long term investment. 0.016BTC seems like such a good deal for a coin that might actually become stable and the third most popular coin after BTC and Etherium.

I am not a day trader by any means. I meant buying some coins and holding until someone pumps them up long enough for me to notice and sell. I do not follow alt coins enough to buy and sell daily/weekly... I will likely buy more XMR once the price calms down a bit.

The majority of gamblers on Poloniex are in the loss camp. They chase one pump 'n dump to the next and get steamrolled by whales and con artists.

The majority of gamblers on Poloniex are in the loss camp. They chase one pump 'n dump to the next and get steamrolled by whales and con artists. The majority of gamblers in any casino are losers. I was probably in that camp for a time as well. I used to dabble in more than ten different cryptos, trying to buy low and sell high... Once I started actively tracking how I was doing, I liquidated everything except the glorious 4: BTC XMR XCP and BCY (BCY only cuz I thought the game concept was cool so I helped fund their startup campaign) ... But enough off topic. Moral of the story is that I now find that I am much more profitable if I simply try to identify projects that I think are a good idea and stick with those. It's not as exciting (or gut-wrenching) as the daily roller-coaster of gambling on random alts, but I've never had such a nice feeling as when Monero finally started to rise after a year or more of the market telling me I was wrong. It wasn't euphoria, or elation, but more like relief. Such a feeling of calm and confidence that I never got from short-term gambling, even after a big win. YMMV

Some modest but timely green shoots. A bottom @~0.016 would make a lot of sense considering the history on the chart and its starting to look like that's maybe what we saw @~0.0162. Cautiously optimistic.
Kudos. This is looking quite accurate., I'm still hopeful to grab a nice chunk at a lower level but it's looking less likely that I'll get that chance.

Volume and support are pretty thin, but from this point, unless in in need of emergency funds, sellers are not interested, despite there being a really impressive book of them. Not sure what will set it off, but there's still so much good news coming...

Is the current pump over and is it time for the next accumulation phase to begin? I speculate that this will go sideways in the current level now and an opportunity to buy more is coming. But the there is another argument that it could also go down and that it would be safer to wait and buy at lower prices.
The comments I have seen lately are mixed and cautious. So it might be better to be cautious too and place your bids maybe at 100k satoshis.

I did a little research, because mostly this price surge is argumented with DNM's getting in the currency, which i still do not believe. On Alphabay in median 1,9% 2737 are accepting XMR in drugs and chemicals from total 136877. On Oasis in median 6,9% 264 are accepting XMR in drugs and chemicals from total 3813. The last 0,018 hype on polo had over 100k BTC volume, with now residing somewhere at 0,014 with ~24k BTC volume. So if 3001 vendors are responsible for over 100k BTC volume, every vendor in median had to have ~33 BTC for playing wiht XMR, now somewhat around ~8 BTC each if every vendor is actively trading --> possible but not likely. Why, simply because these 100 BTC to 800 BTC buy walls would to have been built, in median, buy more than one vendor at the same time --> possible but not likely. Even if, let's say 10% of the active vendors are actively trading with the new XMR (multiply the figures buy 10) which i still do not believe, this would be more unlikely to happen at the same time on the same place. The lending figures intensify my claim and theory of a single entity playing around and making the market to the contrary argument of "natural" growth Think about it Alphabay in median 0,5% 750 are accepting XMR in drugs and chemicals from total 140685 Oasis in median 10,9% 448 are accepting XMR in drugs and chemicals from total 4080 Overall the vendors accepting XMR are declining
