Thanks. Yeah, we actually helped GEMS team for the translation. I guess I am kind of acting like an international liaison here for the voluntary GEMS Japan team. I let you know what we are doing and also ask you guys for opinions. Cheers from Tokyo.

Maybe I should do something like this for GEMS in Japanese. Tokyo GEMS News! (This was filmed in Jan 2014)

http://youtu.be/Z_jUCC1v09k

Toyko GEMS news would be pretty cool actually.

What if someone asks "hey can you send me 100 gems?" Will the app recognise it as a transaction request?

Very nice article which lead me to the vid I hadn't seen yet. A few questions.

Will we also be able to sent "bits" rather than bitcoin. How about BTC? (keywords)

Sending 1 bits would be so much easier that .00000100 BTC

Also, how do you fund your Gems wallet? I assume there is a place to display the BTC address/QRCode?

Can I send BTC to someone that doesn't have a Gems wallet using a phone number and they are just prompted to Dl gems somehow?

Great execution on multiple points. Especially impressive promo design work. In built wallets & snapcash like token transfer are a nice feature,  advertising features to a targeted audience has possibility to be very popular.

It may be worth  pushing this messaging platform to those in industries traditionally shunned by established payment processors. (e.g cam models  adult performers, etc) many of the more tech savvy workers are working apps like whatsapp, kik and accepting payment via crypto in fragmented ways (third party wallets & exchanges). This would unify/streamline a few things for them, allow them to push out adverts, plus it's secure, low barrier to entry & the whole design and gifting features are pretty attractive to them, based on a little feedback i just got

With respect that idea is not suitable for this project. This app is aiming for the mainstream, seedy cam sites aren't a good direction, the mainstream has to be clean. Plus it will give an excuse to take GEMS off the Apple store as they refuse to have sexual content/associations, it gives them an excuse to pull the app.

If this app gets the numbers then stores will be falling over each other to get access to users.

Its important to note that we don't control the asset GEMS: https://www.blockscan.com/assetInfo/GEMS
It was created On: 3/22/2014 5:30:59 PM not by the gems team.
This is the reason we chose GEMZ as the name of our token.

Damn that sending system is a beautiful thing. What if you want to just write Gems? Smiley Is sending BTC the same, just type "Bitcoin"?

Someone mentioned GEMZ as sending currency, I think you should definetly use "gems", why over complicate things if the app is called Gems is my thinking.

Good question, what if i want to say 'can you send me 10 gems?' The app shouldn't send it in this case.

Right now to send gems you can type: 10 gem / 10 gems / 10 gemz / 10gem / 10gems / 10gemz - both caps and lowercase work.
If you type anything before or after, the sending won't work.

What if someone asks "hey can you send me 100 gems?" Will the app recognize it as a transaction request?
No

Bitpay is moving to "bits", we agree its wise to add this function also (http://blog.bitpay.com/2014/05/02/bitpay-bitcoin-and-where-to-put-that-decimal-point.html)

In the wallet screen right now there are 3 TIPs to help understand how to use the wallet:
(1) TIP: Tap on the screen to change currencies (gems/btc)
(2) TIP: To send 100 gems to a friend type 100 gems during chat.
(3) TIP: Long tap on screen to copy your wallet address to the clipboard

We are working to add that if you try to send gemz to a Telegram user he will receive a message to download the gems app.
