I want to start a petiton for the implementation of the Electrum BTC wallet into the SuperNET client. I talked to everyone and my understanding is, that this is currently not worked on. Many people would feel safer, if they could have BTC directly on their BTC wallet instead of using MGW (at the start atleast). So I propose the following:
Implementation of the opensource Electrum BTC client into the SuperNET client.
The electrum recovery seed is saved in an encrypted message on the blockchain.
The electrum wallet password is saved in an encrypted message on the blockchain.
The SN client can read the BTC addresses and can perform transactions as long as the NXT account is unlocked (or the client knows the password). Who likes such an implemention? We need to tell the devs that we would like something like that. Otherwise nothing will be done in the shortterm!

I have been able to successfully find a peer, ping/pong with him, and send/receive messages using BitcoinDark-enabled SuperNET on Windows!

I think this is a excellent idea. A lot of people are coming from a non-nxt background and have an intuitive familiarity with Electrum. SBits is doing it, why not.

I hear it was postponed until after the NXT hardfork had passed and proven the network to be stable.

What happens if I use the old supernet wallet after having passed the block 330k?

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied

that is really old. You will be on a hard fork once block 330000 hits for NXT because of NXT releasing MS (Monetary System)

The most up-to-date SuperNet client is located on NXT's forums

https://nxtforum.org/lite-multigateway-releases/supernet-v1-4-7-1/

and I would suggest following this forum as well for news regarding SuperNet.  Smiley

Just remember SuperNet (UNITY) is an asset of NXT (at least for the moment). You will need to create a NXT account in order to hold SuperNet (if not you can't trade it away to the NXT AE, or even secure your account with a transaction.)

As long as your wallet is up-to-date to the most recent version 1.4.7 I don't believe you have to worry about anything.

That is if you already redeemed your SuperNet Asset for the Token Asset(when it was being sold). If not you have to convert it over to SuperNet.

If you want to actually "use" SuperNet you need to download the modified NXT wallet.

Another question.  Where do I create my NXT account?  Or do I just download the NXT wallet?

You download the NXT (or in this case the SuperNet) wallet that I linked. Once it's done downloading you will get a .zip folder called "supernet-1.4.7.1.zip" where you need to unzip it to wherever you want to hold the files. Inside should be a folder called "supernet-1.4.7.1" that will contain the NXT wallet files.

If you use Windows (after doing the above)
1.) look for the file named "run.bat" and right-click ->copy to desktop (to create a shortcut which I find easier to use Tongue)
2.) Double click the shortcut you created and it should start running the nxt.jar file.
3.) Let it load then go to localhost:7876 where you will be greeted with the NXT login screen.
4.) Enter a passphrase (think of this as a password to your whole account.) If you lose this or a hacker gets a hold of the password then you lose your account. I would suggest adding things like %$&#!,uppercase and lowercase letters, and other types of symbols to have a more secure password.
5.) Your account will then login.

Here is everything else if I forgot to mention anything (while its a little outdated, its in essence what is necessary to set up an account)
https://nxtforum.org/nrs-client-how-to-help/(nrs)-(0-8-12)-latest-nxt-client-and-english-tutorial-(2014-03-21)/

oh and if what I wrote above is a little too complicated, and you just want to run the basic NXT client (you still will have access to your SuperNet assets just not the "SuperNet" tab that appears) I would suggest using the client located http://nxt.org/ because its a simple .exe installer. Smiley It's regularly updated by the creator 'Wesley' and even gives notifications when there is an update.

btw. In order to trade your SuperNet on the AE and/or secure your account you will need at least a few NXT.
