Can the diff be adjusted if you have a lower hash miner like a USB miner? like 5GH etc..

Update: It adjusted itself, nevermind Smiley

Guess it really doesn't matter too much, just takes longer to submit shares.  I purchased a Antrouter R1 to mess around with and flashed the firmware so I could mine on CKpool instead of Antpool solo.

Now If I find a block with this it will really be like winning the lottery Smiley

http://solo.ckpool.org/users/1Lkm5x3S32yi8U7M8a6VqwYgMLqVECsqQo

I decided to throw my Antminer S3+ into the pool a few days ago, here's to hoping those of us on the lower end see some luck! Congrats to the recent lucky miners! I'm sure I speak for a few...we're all jealous  Wink

I have my Antminer S3+ on there as well.

I have my own miner pointed at the pool. If I decide to add rental power, should I point at the same address or use a different one? Thanks.
you can use the same one, or use a diff worker name so you can see what for a workes workes fine or find a block...

the _bitcoinlotto1 is the worker name

So I am one of the few that would like to solo from an Asian/Oceanic location. Seeing as the sg server wont be back up, will mining from the solo.ckpool server be detrimental in my chances of finding a block?
Would a better option for me ve to setup a local bitcoind wallet and solo from that?
PS I have a 100/100 connection from my datacentre.

It's likely less than 100 milliseconds difference to the main solo pool. Average blocks are 10 minutes apart. Your chance of being orphaned is < 0.02% higher. If you try to mine solo to your local bitcoind you could be behind 15-30 SECONDS.

Try de.ckpool.org . You may be surprisingly closer to it than main solo.

378ms to de. Links to EU are notoriously bad from my region as they hop through more countries. Whereas the US is linked directly to the West Coast.

I tried my luck by myself since nobody felt like joining me, so I got 100TH for 3Hrs & an hour before that rental finished chucked on another 200TH for 3hrs so had 300TH for an hour almost and got this share.

"lastupdate": 1453862473, "workers": 0, "shares": 922539282, "bestshare": 1709324599.0356205, "bestever": 1709324599}

I think the first part of the rental (100TH) hit that share though as I wasn't watching.

I feel like your shares don't matter, unless you get orphaned, are off by 1% or rent 10 PH and not hit a block Cheesy

Is there a rig hash formula to get a decent chance to solve a block - ie. 10% of the ck solo pool?

If rent a rig, lets say a 200TH rig (10% of 2PH ck solo pool) - will that give me a decent shot in cracking a block?

If I rent a 200TH rig with, 1 or 2 workers vs a rig with 160 workers - will it make a difference?

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

Difficulty / Hashes per second * 2^32 == Number of seconds before breaking a block

The formula is on bitcoin.it wiki.

EDIT: It must be noted however, that finding the nonce that breaks a block is a stochastic process, and so you could take WAY less or WAY more than the projection says. Poisson distributions and such explain the probabilistic curve that predates the "luck" on breaking a block.

No, it makes no difference.  All that matters is how much total hash power you have, could be one machine or 10,000.
