what is the market section and what does it do?

I purcased 5Gh/s of mining speed from it on an antminer s3 but seem to have lost more than i have gained from the investment after losing 205 satoshi through maintainance costs! Is there a reason for this and is this a permanent probjem?

Why do you buy stuff you do not understand?

First, you have purchased the most ineffective miner on the market. It often requires more electricity to run then it mines BTC. Yes, this is a permanent problem cause you need to pay maintenance for your miner. What, did you expect somebody else to pay the electricity bill?

The market section obviously lets you trade your hash, to boy and sell your cloud miners.

Pls read a bit before you make those kind of investments. If crypto would be that simple, we would all be millionaires. Let me know if you need more help.

Will sell them back on the market for the asking price i bought them for.
they were only 1000 satoshi each anyway sono point reading on. I will buy 1Gh/s contract for an antminer s5 on the same place for 100000 satoshi (as i have researched this and the Roi will be estimated to be between 480 and 500 days! this will change due to cost of bitcoin and new miners that are released) I though that the least efficiant miners were the s1 and the UMISOO that uses the s1

UMISOO and S2, contract are suspended and probably near the final dissolution....

S3 is rantling and S4 so so... S5 is the more efficent, but if you hope to wait 480 days to roi you will be burned.... the "real" business is to sell S5 shares at a certain moment, when will worth enough to cover roi with the mining earns taken during the period of time you hold the power, or, better at all, do buys and sells on market continuosly using climb and slip on the market price....

But it's a hard work indeed....

Go read the ToS on the website, review this thread and the PACMiC thread on this forum, then if you have any specific questions on how it works bring them here and we will answer them.

You will be so much more fulfilled if you do your own research instead of relying on people from the internet.

Hashnest.com are offering a redemption period to get your miners delivered to you (but at a cost of at least $50 per machine to process order and cover postage costs!)

my redeem cost is $291.0 for one antminer s2 with no guarantee of the quality or remaining life of a machine and guarantee that every redeemed machine will operate.
it's so expensive for a bunch of brick with 1000w power.

With bitcoin down in the dumps this old gear is defunct of course. But if it manages to get to 300 and hold or even build on that it,ll be a very different picture. So, stuff being virtually given away now could be pretty useful at a later date. Free of charge or practically so is always good.

Regarding redeeming UMISOO/S2s, has anyone looked into loading a bunch of these into a shipping container and sending it via sea freight?  HashNest charges $50 to box each S2, then another $65 to ship it domestically in China.  Is there any way to get those costs down?

If you could get just the single $50 boxing charge and then load up a shipping container I could see it making sense.  But, if they also charge you $65 to ship that box to a point you can just put it in a container, then it gets a little silly.

Seams like to me, if you owned the miner at the end, you should *own* the miner and you can do with it as you want.  Is this not the case?

What do you mean by "the shop"...? The one where you can buy S5s? Well, I think they going to be profitable quite awhile and $1800 is a lot of money for most people. I'm really impressed that they only weigh 4kg though. Wounder if/when they will be available on a market, as their other machines. Any rumors?

Bitmain has been very up front about the costs associated with miner redemption since the asset was released.  They have always said there would be a handling fee and shipping fees. Anyone who didn't read the ToS and didn't understand the asset they were buying deserves to be in whatever position they are currently in.

He's talking about something else. When you can buy same amount of hash power in market why would you want to buy for more price in shop? He's asking this.

I think nobody bought the miner in the shop . I ve the feeling  hashnest  discretly  dumping the 1000 S5 on the market .

Should S2 be profitable again?
Or did the difficulty increase basically increase with the BTC value at the same rate;we're at $241 right now and still 108% maint fee
Glad the value is going back up at least.

I don't think so. It's obsolete technology, they will shut them down in near future. Bitcoin have to pass 300$ quickly or they will be trash/junk/collectors item.

They are already shut down.  You cannot buy S2 or UMISOO on the market and they are currently in their redemption period.  They will not be coming back onto Hashnest.
