i lost a big amount on hashnest because of the dropping traffic value of the s7 market price. damn that sucks.. you have mined maybe 200k satoshi and losed maybe 20 million :D:D regards lama-hunter I keep telling people home and cloud mining, unless u re a huge whale with access to cheap electricity and cheap miners, is the thing of the past. PoS is much more profitable. care to elaborate what PoS is? Sorry, yes, Proof of stake, an altenative way of mining which does not require electricity or equipment, just investment. But let s not derails this thread pls. I m sure you can google everything about it. sure; i just didn't know what exactly to google; thx; 👍🏻

How does anyone convert their Hashnest Hashes to codes? I saw 'Code to hash' option but I do not see 'Hash to code' option.

Here is a explanation. I don't think it is a viable feature anymore, but it was in the past when Hashnest first launched.

Creation of hash codes terminated after someone found a way to game them. 150 BTC was removed from their platform in this way. This is why no more codes

I still think they are not done. The sites has many bugs (apart from the many translation errors). 2FA not working etc.

I think SHA 256 cloud mining and home mining s about to reach the end. Diff growth s been so massive lately and it ll probably continue to rise if BTC price continues to increase. So I think people should turn to alternative ways of mining. To answer your question, unless you plan to trade GHs as well, mining to reach ROI s going to be very hard to achieve.

Well GH/s prices are just going down and down at the moment although at some point people wanting to mine might find that machines are hard to come by and those that are willing to sell mining rigs or GH/s will raise their prices.
For example, it is just not profitable for me to sell any hashpower at the moment. I will have to sit it out and wait.
My S5 Hashpower, when purchased cost 0.072 BTC. Now if i sell it, it is worth 0.02550050 BTC
Total mined income so far after maintenance is 0.03596524 BTC
So if I sold my 50GH/s now and included my mined income as well, it would come to 0.06146574, so I still have not made ROI yet although not expecting to as its a long term thing.

Thanks for the input guys! Well according to a mining calculator I saw online, it would only take like 100 days to get ROI from S4 or S5. Is this true?

That is a moving target, but if all things stayed constant (difficulty and btc price) then yes you would ROI in 100 days. But, as we know that is not going to happen so it will most likely be more than 100 days.

Even less, again in theory, cause you can sell you hash when you reach 70% ROI, for example, and make some money. Why this does not work? Cause mining diff s been jumping 20% per month and consequently hash price s been going down that much. So, include this in your calculations and u ll see what u re gonna get.

I don't get why people do cloud mining. The difficulty continues to go up as your hash becomes more worthless. At least when I mine at home I can sell my miner a month or 2 before its worthless and recoup some cash giving me a small ROI and still supporting the network. Everytime I have tried cloud I lose money unless I'm just flipping hash earning fractions trading like on cex with no fees back in the day.
good luck to guys still doing it even after all the places that have gone belly up and shown its a bad investment.

Hashnest was profitable for quite a while. Then the thieves decided to give themselve some extra bonuses (remember the scam with the blocks). These days no other cloud mining company can either be trusted, nor be used to achieve ROI.

Cloud mining is just a business which means they need to make money. Sure you get some profits, but they get more. Because it is so simple to offer hashes and so hard to check if they have actual hardware, there are so many parties offering this.
If you want to mine, buy equipment, if you want profit, go trade. Don't use cloud mining for this purposes.

Has anyone else had issues with the new 2-factor authentication for withdraws?
It seems to only accept my "trade password" once every few tries, even if I'm copying and pasting. It just suddenly "works" one time after failing several others.

I had had this issue a while ago and it was something wrong on my phone. There is a certain box under settings you have to check in your phone to ensure that it is correctly linked up with the correct time, otherwise your phone is providing a different 2FA number than Hashnest is looking for. I believe the box is something like, "allow your phone to set the time based on what it received over the internet" or something like, basically letting the network set the time for you.

I think there is also wrong with the 2fa or the google auth if that is what you are using if not hashnest just alone. Im using Google auth and its not working properly to other site that i am required to enter the 2fa code. I had many times entering the right code but did not work.
