You are missing the point. You are paying out dividends as if you are making a profit, but the only income you have is from mining bonds and you only count the coupon payments you receive, not the free falling value of the bonds you hold; you will have to sell these bonds at some point.  in reality you probably only made significant losses so far.

Wait until the first, I don't want to spoil it for anyone who isn't in the know.

Mining bonds are a retarded idea and only benefit the issuer.

An that's why you call them turds and not bonds.

As you probably know, those perpetual N MH/s "bonds" are similar to FRN's (Floating Rate Notes). FRN's are also called "floaters", so I am inviting you all to call all the perpetual bitcoin floaters as "Turd(s)".

While reading what I wrote, use the most friendliest and relaxing voice in your head.

Our second dividend and first full month dividend is quickly approaching.

Estimated total dividends: 75.52 to 83.00 BTC
Estimated per share dividend: 0.028495 to 0.031827 BTC

Well, this is fun. BTCMC is not going to honor the .125 BTC/mo dividend in the contract. This estimate is now wrong, and is probably going to be around 27 to 35 BTC total dividend, or less than half. Thanks Yochdog.

Yes, that one, where he is no longer going to honor the contract he agreed to on GLBSE.

had to read that 3 times to catch the .125 in the contract vs the intended .0125. thats a pretty big difference.

Yup. I guess over the next month I'm going to dump the BTCMC holdings I have.

The difference is because they had a 10-for-1 stock split, but couldn't update the contract.

Witnessed. Pre-announcing this move is a good way of reducing the value of those holdings even further.

(If you want to remove that from your post I'll unwitness it!)

Well, not all news is bad today.

Diablo Mining Company has now passed 11 Ghash, and we're also 57 shares short of 4000 shares sold.

Dude, you have to pay attention to the thread.

We had 1,000 shares issued paying a dividend of .15 per share.  We did a 10 for 1 split, thus we now pay .015 per share.  We are still going to pay out the same 150 BTC as before.

This was very clearly stated in the thread we have for the company.

Yes, and all of DMC's holdings of BTCMC are apparently post-split.

Everyones shares are post split......the people who owned 100 shares before own 1,000 shares now.  No different than if they bought 1,000 shares post split.  Dividends are the same as well.....they recieved 15 BTC per month before (on 100 shares), they recieve 15 BTC per month now (on 1,000 shares).

THe dividend will continue to rise as well.

I have e-mailed Nefario and will try to get the contract changed so there is no more confusion.

DiabloD3, can you start publishing the fund holdings once a week?
This is not a big job and takes you about <2 minutes with google (vomit!) spreadsheet that has a live price update.
Once a month in BTC world is way too long.

I could automate it with perl, but I won't until nefario adds a read only private API. I'm not comfortable with enabling the API as long as I can't set any state changing commands to disabled.

Open your https://glbse.com/portfolio

I assume you use a web browser NOT called IE. Use your Ctr key + mouse pointer and select  Asset column, copy this to your Google spreadsheet, repeat for Quantity column. Let the column C do the math and fetch prices (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=85768.msg944466#msg944466 )
This will take you less time than me writing this post.  Publish the spreadsheet as a web page and be done with it.

Cheers!

That is the exact opposite of automatic. When the market is busy, I may make buys and sells several times a day just to take advantage of the deals that pop up. It would take like 5 lines of perl to do this automatically.

I am all in for automation but only when it actually makes sense.
Why overcomplicate a simple task, that will take you <2 min. per week? To start hacking Perl and GLBSE API for a simple weekly report is close to pointless. Even adding div's to that report spreadsheet manually is a short and simple task of one minute or less.
Total investment per week is 3 min!
Lets say you frack around with this code for an hour. That's like 20 weeks worth of simple copy paste stats Smiley An then you will have those odd situations, when connection to GLBSE craps out and you need to write and test code for that... Or only part of the data is available... etc.

Well, that share trade table is completely automatic, written in Perl.  And I also already wrote a script to calculate dividends semi-automatically, also written in Perl. So, whats one more?
