To me the interesting part of this offering is the ability to sell power back to the grid. This means you can get a return even if bitcoin mining goes bust. And you can always rent the space out for other companies that need a DC.

The ASIC seems like it wil be a long way off if it gets off the ground at all. I also believe they will be sending out old bfl singles they get back because of the trade in offer to their old customers still on the waiting list then they will not have to build all the singles they have on pre order Smiley

In b4 fractional manufacturing.....

Well, the guy who runs BMF has been basically character assassinating my plan on IRC (plan assassinating?) because he thinks "small" scale (as in, less than hundreds of mw and up) power generation (green or not) is not cost effective and cannot turn a profit.

The thing is, I actually want to roll that out first BEFORE the DC, it seems to be just so much more profitable and easier to scale.

As one of your biggest shareholders at 26%, I have pointed out that you have been trading away the equity in your company to sell more shares, thus lowering the stock price. You have said some pretty horrifying things on IRC recently, like how you were talking about selling all your bonds at 0.19 or 0.15. I'm not sure if you are serious or just being a bad manager, but I've lost 50% by investing in DMC and it looks like the bloodbath is not over. I've repeatedly offered to give you advice, help you turn your company around, but you have refused and grandstanded the entire time.

I wish I could just sell out but I can't even sell shares at 0.50. The ask has been there for days. No one is buying your fund. And when you finally get to the point where *everyone* knows that trading with you will always result in a loss, no one will trade with you, and your issue will collapse.

Prove me wrong.

I never said I was going to sell my assets at 0.19 or 0.15. I said even if I were to do something I will never do and sell my assets at 0.190/mh and assuming BFL isn't lying about their specs, I could end up with 200 ghash in SC Singles. Problem is, a) I would never do that, b) I don't trust BFL.

So, there, I proved you wrong. That was easy. I'm not sure I like a troll owning 26% of my company.

I don't know what to say.. I asked you why I had lost 50% of my investment with DMC, and you respond by calling me a troll. There's more to it than that of course but I don't want to get into it anymore.

You win D, I'll stop talking about you and your company. I just hope you do a better job going forward than you have done so far, because people have lost a lot of money investing in your company so far.

I'm not sure why you keep claiming you lost 50% of your investment. Market prices for everything on GLBSE are panic low because of the BFL announcement. I don't know why you don't see this as an opportunity to just buy more at a much cheaper price.

Because the prices currently being down might mean it's impossible getting back your investment or getting rid of your shares. During any stock market crash there's plenty of good opportunity to make money, but there is no guarantee that specific titles will go back up. Any further investment could be considered as risky. As such you usually consider you have lost part of your investment so long as share prices are lower as you cannot immediately get it back in full and you have no guarantee of them going back up. Especially if they cannot trade their share the other way around. You'd definitely need at least a PR person, that doesn't seem to be your forte. What you say about the panic lows might be true but you'll have to answer people more nicely if you're going to hold their money. Misunderstandings happen all the time, you have to clear those up yourself unfortunately and explain how you plan to get the prices back up or why you think they will go back up.

PR isn't the issue. usagi has continually hounded me on IRC over something I really have no control over. If people want to panic sell, thats their problem, and I'm happy to clean up on all the other shares/bonds also dropping like a rock. If usagi doesn't like the fact I'm trying to optimize DMC's holdings to increase investor profit, thats also not something I have any control over.

As it stands, people are valuing DMC like a mining stock, and there is no formula to convert non-mining assets to mhash. I imagine when we get the green energy farm online, no one will have to worry about DMC stock price again.

You can alway look at the price versus div and figure out your return (yield)  if you buy a security at price X. As simple as that.
BTC form Mh is nothing more than a floating "coupon". If coupon drops (Mh produces less btc), bond price will go down to keep up with yield desired by market.

Yeah, but no one has an easy to read chart for that. Theres a Google spreadsheet out there, but its nigh unreadable.

Awesome. >3% monthly is nice.

Not if it comes from holding mining bonds that may yield 7-8%, but are about to become worthless.
You can buy greek debt at >8% if you want.

By "about to" do you mean in months or more when BFL is shipping ASICs?

Time will tell, IMO they already are ridiculously overpriced today, but its a safe bet to say they will degrade  faster than 3% per month (ie, difficulty will increase by more than 3% per month) regardless if your timeline is months or years. Difficulty has been going up by ~8% per month over the past 6 months, and thats before the mini rigs and the asics.

Personally I would avoid those bonds and only invest in mining companies with an upgrade path to asic. Like cognitive.

Its not trolling its smart business to avoid the clear risk these bonds pose to returns.

Many of the bonds are sold at a fixed mh value. They are worth exactly that, no more, no less. There is only one fixed dividend bond on the market and thats BTCMC, as far as I know.

You are missing the point. You are paying out dividends as if you are making a profit, but the only income you have is from mining bonds and you only count the coupon payments you receive, not the free falling value of the bonds you hold; you will have to sell these bonds at some point.  in reality you probably only made significant losses so far.

Mining bonds are a retarded idea and only benefit the issuer.
