I tried to run the wallet in compatibility mode for win7 and it seems to work now. I should have tired that before posting, sorry.
dont think I have a runtime error. The wallet just never opened at all (after the loading screen) without any error message. Win8 64. hope this will get fixed soon and issue that runtime error will be solved, i have same error with Win8. Works fine for me on 8.1 as well now. Could you please tell me if you have several C++ redistribuable package ? or only the last one (Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013) (you can see this in your programs & features)
2008, 2010 and 2013 Hello amiryaqot, I have some questions: Did you check your firewall/Anti-malware suite ? Did you have MS C++ redistribuable package 2008, 2010 and 2012 or 2013 ? (you can see these on programs & features) Did you try the compatibility mode for win7 ? Did your opalcoin.conf looks like that ? addnode=46.165.209.144 addnode=54.64.155.117 addnode=79.32.104.81 addnode=192.241.222.102 addnode=173.199.124.185 addnode=65.30.37.95 If you can reply yes to ALL these questions, then: Save your wallet.dat in order to delete the other files located in this path C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Opacoin then replace the saved wallet.dat in this path and restart it. Save your wallet.dat to delete the Opalcoin folder AND the Opal-QT folder (or Opalcoin-Qt-exchange) then download it again put the saved wallet.dat and run it. You can also check the event viewer to detect any error when you start your Opal client. Thank you for your time,

I saw a few other coins have been trying something similar like opal's logo. I dont think opal devs care much about them.

Having a bit of trouble installing the Windows Wallet. Like I download it, extract the ZIP file, and open up the Opal Application but then it doesn't open. Did I do something wrong?

OK, just talked with Bass and he said if we reach 90% then the wallet will be released. Come on people let's get it up to 90%!! The new wallet is fantastic! You will be blown away as usual with OPAL and the team.
Voted and waiting for confirmation, excited for the new wallet! Spread some votes guys, even if you can only afford one (.001), a strong community is important for a strong coin We are pretty close to the mark

Hi Cryptonitex, Win8 or Win 8.1 ? 0. Check if your Firewall/Security suite isn't blocking the wallet start. 1. close your wallet start your wallet by using the compatibility mode for win7. if it still crash: close your wallet and 2. Install package(s) you dont have: These versions must be installed manually: C++ 2012 (x86 and x64) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679C++ 2010 (x86) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555C++ 2010 (x64) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632C++ 2008 (x64) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15336C++ 2008 (x86) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29(you can check these on programs & features) start your wallet, if it still crash, close your wallet, You have an opalcoin.conf file located in this path : C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Opacoin (right click on opalcoin.conf and choose edit instead of open) Did your opalcoin.conf looks like that : addnode=46.165.209.144 addnode=54.64.155.117 addnode=79.32.104.81 addnode=192.241.222.102 addnode=173.199.124.185 addnode=65.30.37.95 if no or if there is no opalcoin.conf file: create it and save as: oplacoin.conf and not opalcoin.conf.txt start your wallet. if it still crash: Save your wallet.dat file and delete all the other files located in this path C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Opacoin (before starting make sure you have the saved wallet.dat in this path) start your wallet, * if you can't see Appdata: click "Organize▼" (upper left) then click "Show Folders and Search Option" click view and Check "Show hidden files, folders, and drives", and then click OK for Windows 8 From the Control Panel, type Folder Options in the search box: click "Folder Options", click "View" then Check "Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK

Could be my mistake, but what's so special about Coinpayments? Haven't really found a reason why you would put money in those votes.

I created the opalcoin.conf file cuz I didn't have that. Gave access to Opal Coin too. Do I really need to install all those packages on my computer for it to work? Because I have other wallets too that work without it, so I'm wondering why Opal need's this to operate? (I don't like to install anything on this computer).

Oh cool! We lets get voting then, I'm a little disappointed to see no one else has in the last day since the announcement. It's more then simply being added to coinpayments, it shows community support and involvement. Too many members sit idle hoping their investments will grow with only the volunteer work of the devs. The more places Opal is used the better, the more the community uses its power to get Opal listed at these places the better. What's the price of a cup of coffee to show some support? (This coming from someone with no money who is 10's of thousands in student debt)

Just to clarify We already have enough votes to be added, it's just a waiting game now. While donating to charity is great, please don't think you have to do this to help opal, when we already have enough votes

[Edit] No i've just tested with another win 8.1 using C++2005-2008-2010-2012 -run as admin -run with compatibility mode for win8, win7 create opalcoin.conf and Appcrash: but: Works fine for me on 8.1 as well now. ... er.. § Your Opal-QT is V1.3.0.0 or the V1.3.1.0 ?
