4 blocks in ~24 hour  Grin
And 4 for just under 400% so that fixed that evil 319% block Cheesy

Welcome to the acclaim board simionatof with a single miner!
Well done!
(I'll send you a small bonus some time over the next day or so)
Congrats, Simionatof!

Nice gesture, Kano!

Message to potential naysayers: The reward Kano speaks of is not going to be taken from the block reward, so no, Kano is not changing the rules here and taking part of our rewards for someone else. Wink

Yep - to be specific, it effectively comes out of the 0.9% pool fee - like the 7 BTC giveaway - from the fees I've earned over the years to run the pool.

Probably forced a re-lookup so whatever caused the problem had to re-get the DNS info.

Dang, I can't get to Kano.is either...Smiley

EDIT:  I can get in with my iPhone...the Google DNS servers must be glitchin right now and they are what I'm using in my home router.

EDIT2:  I had to change DNS servers in my router to get back in with my desktop Cheesy

I think Cloudflare had an issue, no bitcointalk, tried bitmain, and Kano.

They're all back now.

I noticed this as well, though various VPN services would work while others would not.
Very odd.

Don't mind at all.  Actually, have 20 of them - just about what we expect in a month.

I don't use cloudflare - all web access is direct to the web server.

As I mentioned on discord, there has been a (very slow) botnet doing password guessing for the last few hours - but each bot's IP gets banned VERY quickly.
So unless your IP has a virus and is trying to guess passwords - I doubt that's the problem either.

There was a 10-15 PH drop in mining (no specific large user) for quite a few hours earlier today, then it came back for 2 hours then jumped up and down again for an hour - but seems to be back again now.
So there may be some general internet connectivity problems somewhere that's affecting miners.

The mining servers haven't been showing any obvious drops in SPS other than the DE server (but not a drop to zero - just lower)

Interesting, it looked like some kind of DNS issue as I was getting name resolution errors, (I use Google's DNS servers)but only for specific websites. Weird. Looked at my miner's hashrate and they never had issues. Odd indeed.

Well if the google DNS servers themselves had issues then that would probably affect many people - since 8.8.8.8 etc is commonly used by many (myself included for unrelated stuff) and in the miners also.

Not sure if google would mention it themselves though ... googling shows nothing Cheesy

One of the 3 nodes for stratum.kano.is crashed and restarted at 2:53 UTC

Any miners on the specific node that restarted will have failed over - though it restarted immediately.
(It's random which of the 3 nodes you end up on)

Of course the usual 5 minute sit around and wait for no reason cgminer delay will mean a failover to your 2nd pool and the buggy failover code may mean failing over to your 3rd pool.

All users on that node should have failed back by now.

Regarding this ...
A lot of the IP addresses of the infected computers trying passwords are owned by Avast - i.e. the actual IP address of the computers are Avast IP addresses, so that would be computers in the Avast offices in Prague, Miami, Seattle and London.
If you use their antivirus software, I might suggest you change Smiley
I've permanently blocked some of their subnets completely.

issues with miners connection as well...

8 miners... 3 of them say offline thru website and not mining..

I rebooted all 3... still not showing as mining..

Awesome miner shows them as active and mining with no problem...

any idea whats going on?  These S9 miners have been active for several months ...

All others s9 miners seem fine...

Thoughts?

At a guess - a DNS problem.

DNS servers often disobey DNS settings.

If google is still having problems then that could be the cause.
If not, then check whatever DNS server your miner is connecting to and see if it is OK.

On linux to check ANY DNS server you type:

dig @server.ip stratum.kano.is

e.g. dig @8.8.8.8 stratum.kano.is

I had a similar problem after all the dns shenanigans.. 4 machines from one farm were showing as down on the workers list, but the machines themselves showed they were still connected and mining, a quick reboot and they showed up on the workers list again.

13 machines were affected altogether, all S9/T9's different geographic locations, and in all cases there were other identical machines that weren't affected in the same locations.. what fun!

I'm seeing something strange...60% of my miners are down according to the Workers page, Shift Graph, and the Shifts page but when I look at the miners work is still being accepted just like normal??

My first pool is the stratum on all my miners and I just rebooted a couple.  Everything is showing as alive and the rebooted machines are getting work and work is being accepted just like normal but they are still showing down on kano.is.
