Ah, yes. I missed that BIP101 comment and did not understand your reference to aliens at the time. It did make me picture a first encounter w/ ET as a financial one. Now it makes sense It's so complicated. I think the idea of a linear and gradual block growth with each block may better address concerns over fast movement with a stepped change. Then again ... I don't really know much - except about bicycle transportation planning Bitcoin is a $15 Billion ... industry. Maybe it'd be a better idea to experiment some with the silver highway called Litecoin. That seems like a nice proving ground. I hear they are voting on SegWit. That's only a $200 Million industry with ASICs and is trading at like $4. I just transferred some BTC to LTC for my first time, ever. Nervous time for all.

I know it sounds simplistic...but there appear to be two camps on the issue...as with all BTC things, it seems...those who are in Bitcoin to make a fast profit, and those who are in Bitcoin for the long haul. EDIT: Gotta remember to have coffee first...what I meant was these two views should not necessarily be opposing, but often end up that way for lack of wider vision. I happen to agree with Kano on BIP101, and for the same reasons. Mine on.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

I happen to agree with Kano on BIP101, and for the same reasons. Mine on. Miners want big fat blocks, traders want low fees; can't see that ever changing. We want traders to keep trading and they want us to keep mining though or the whole thing dies, even an ID10T like me knows that. Kano-san's small miners are on both sides of the fence as we have to consolidate our small payouts into some useful mount (just got 1 sat/B because the mempool's virtually empty) I need coffee too, the coffee shop takes Bitcoin and as a favour to me he'll let me have mine after 2 confirmations instead of having to wait for 100

Heh yeah, however please don't Rentals are an expected BTC loss, and I also prefer no one to use them. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1002086.0

So Kano, your thoughts on the Hardfork. What is the Kanopool leaning towards?

Since we're currently under the 1% mark, it doesn't really matter. I don't like either BU or SegWit for various reasons, but I don't really have to choose However, anyone who doesn't follow the largest % will be to blame if anything adverse happens to Bitcoin due to a fork. So if either of them active, that will mean 75% BU or 95% SegWit of the network, in which case anyone thinking that sticking with 25% or 5% of the network is some sort of correct way to go is clearly deluded SegWit wont get 95% ... and maybe BU wont get 75% either? If I had to make a bet, I'd say that if anyone can come up with a (better) block size solution soon, and make it a viable choice on the network, that will win everyone's vote. But we'll see.

Was busy taking care of my sick (flu) son yesterday so never got a chance to get on computer. Threes blocks yesterday & one in the basket this morning - woo hoo!! Now if I can only get the poor young lad to keep some food down for more than 10 minutes - 1/2 piece plain toast this morning 20 minutes ago...so far so good. If he keeps that down then he can get some home made chicken soup that I made yesterday. Ha! No wonder we got three blocks yesterday - chicken soup sacrifice!! Mine on!
