Do you actually believe that? The conservative blocksize increase which Core have been a major proponent of have been good to miners. How much are you making in fees these days? It is unfathomable to me how miners favor anything but conservative blocksize increases. I mean you have no idea whats good for you. And if you want war you will get it, just keep in mind you are the ones with the most to lose.
A block size increase and SegWit are two different things. SegWit DOES NOT increase the block size. The block size increase is be held hostage and SegWit is the ransom demand. How old are you?

It has been my experience that anyone you have to explain that to has already spent too much time reading misinformation on redit to have it explained to them and accept it.

Im telling you how it is. It is not a threat. What do you think will be the outcome if miners persist on crippling bitcoin? Do you think there is going to be a happy ending?
miners are making all of crypotcoin grow like a mofo. And the creator coin BTC is the driving force behind it. coin total is now over 112 billion dollars. http://coinmarketcap.com/Market Cap: $112,413,614,212 / 24h Vol: $5,660,452,891 / BTC Dominance: 42.9% with BTC value of 48 billion an all time high. BTC has less % at 42.9% But as a parent with many children knows the offspring do out grow the parents. Fuck segwit and the backwards people seeking to destroy 64 billion usd in offspring coins for the sake of 48 billion in starter coins read my signature and realize segwit need to be put to the ax. a simple block scale of 2x long overdue is all that should have been done with an agreement to revisit as scaling is needed. Segwit = death to BTC miners are creating huge wealth here dude read the numbers http://coinmarketcap.com/

Thanks Philipma for you post.
I only have a small amount of my power here -- and it has always concerned me that kano doesn't budge from his pure philosphical stance. Personally, I'm a compromiser -- yet only want what is best for bitcoin's future -- even if that means losing a little in tx fee income.
It is nice to see a big mind (like yours) present a simple easy to understand argument.
Thanks!

Why not have block size scale like difficulty does? Also what is the true block size maximum?

They're pointless since it's page after page of the same thing over and over again. Why not have block size scale like difficulty does? Also what is the true block size maximum? Yeah a fractional increase/decrease would be nice. Current code/protocol allows 32MB

That is because all the extremely cheap geothermal power there that houses huge bitcoin farms, so the people that have those are super rich. Segwit = death to BTC
Without any explanation, this is just an opinion that you keep repeating without going into any details. As a non-programmer, i might not able to grasp specifics, but what is your opinion based on? Segwit got activated on litecoin. Did anything drastic happened? No. The proof is in the pudding. Miners (myself included) like to collect huge fees, but people will reject this situation eventually. Segwit got controversial for a few reasons (one being Bitmain opposing it) and this controversy (and split) might be a death to bitcoin, NOT the software itself. As far as whether it (Segwit) should be activated or not, I have no opinion as I cannot properly review the software, I'll give you that.

A C4 transmission bolts up perfectly to a Ford 390, so that means it will bolt the same way onto a Chevy 390, right?

A C4 transmission bolts up perfectly to a Ford 390, so that means it will bolt the same way onto a Chevy 390, right? thank you. nonsense, you boys keep on dredging this panicky verbiage about Segwit for ages. Your wordsmith vehicular example does not clear up anything. Irrelevant. I can put the same high (91) octane gas in both vehicles, can I? They will run just fine. Both of you have no clue what the results would be, but here you are, pronouncing almost a calamity upon some software code activation. The strangest thing, I am not even a segwit proponent. However, when someone pronounce emphatically that it would be a death of bla bla, I tend to disagree. I might even like it activating and therefore putting Jihan in a pickle.

I'm not "dredging panicky verbiage" about anything, I'm saying that Bitcoin isn't CoinX and it doesn't matter what CoinX does. And even if it works awesome for CoinX, that doesn't mean that there's any reason to turn Bitcoin into a new algo of CoinX. No one rationally cares that x worked for CoinX and that's the reason Bitcoin should do x. Let CoinX do what CoinX does and either enjoy CoinX for CoinX or enjoy Bitcoin for Bitcoin. I can put the same high (91) octane gas in both vehicles, can I? They will run just fine.
No, they will not because although the Chevy will "run just fine", it will not take you anywhere when all you have is a Ford transmission laying on the ground next to it.

I will not be putting Ford trasmission on it, I promise . Well, that's what you're trying to do when you talk about "Segwit got activated on litecoin. Did anything drastic happened? No. The proof is in the pudding." Yay for Litecoin, they have a C4 and it takes them down the road; this is Bitcoin, a C4 does not do the same thing here (here it sits on the ground because it will not bolt up the same and even if it did, this isn't Litecoin).

Your opinion on this matter is just an opinion, unless you can show us the future with and without it and provide a comparison. No unrelated rhetorical examples.
