You might have got banned for getting your password wrong too many times or doing something else too many times.
Try again tomorrow.

Hi kano. 1 August with BIP 148, do we have anything to worry about? Us miners in kano? I'm a bit stressed. I've read alot of OPINIONS, and I would rather want to know what you have to say.  Regards!
Ignore BIP148 - it's simply an attempt by a bunch of users to take control of Bitcoin away from miners - mining is the design of Bitcoin and it will stay that way.

I'll sort it out within the next week.
I'll hopefully be able to put the new KDB code live tomorrow, so that will finally be out of the way.

Looks like I'll simply have to accept that Bitcoin mining majority is going to accept some form of SegWit - and make sure when it activates, the pool will work on any and all SegWits that happen to be blundering around ... Tongue

Pretty much every block now has the /NYA/ 'expression of interest' in it and NYA effectively means SegWit also.
Seems Core has managed to con/force everyone into accepting it, pretending it's a block size solution Tongue

Don't forget that if it activates, your 1xxx addresses will cost 4 times as much to use per byte than 3xxx addresses
(yeah they really like their dodgy P2SH addresses and are forcing everyone to risk all their BTC on those dodgy addresses)

Once I've got that all ready I'll post about the details and then switch over the main work generator to using whatever is necessary.
Thank you kano. Appreciate it. I feel better now. Have a good one!

Let the pool set the min diff automatically...it's the best way to go.

My A7s finally got out of customs...on the road again...yippee-hoo...

Ups?
Nope...I'm a cheapskate and, if possible, I ship miners via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate. A miner will fit in a large flat rate box, and I can send one to Labrador for USD$60 compared to over $100 for FedEx or UPS.

It doesn't matter what carrier you use...customs can be a PITA in any case. I was just a bit perturbed because this is the second time in two shipments (this one, and my earlier 741s coming from Canaan) that either US or Canada customs has dropped a dime on me.

Oh, well...they're moving (the shipment), my 741s are hashing away in my bath, and I've got a new batch of homemade fudge ice cream. Life is tolerable.  Kiss

I am curious as well on these hosting places. Are they close to you or can they be anywhere and you have the hardware shipped there, but how do you configure and manage it? I have been thinking of having my stuff hosted but dunno the cost to reward for such small miners while I am trying to grow more. I live in BFE so there is no CoLo anywhere withing several hundred miles at the very least.

It depends on the hosting service; some of them handle the configurations for you when you email what you want to them.  Some allow you to log directly into the cgminer interface and control it your self.  All of them provide boots on the ground to flip a power switch in the rare instances when that is necessary.  Some even have smart pdu's that you can log into and recycle power yourself.  The distance is irrelevant in most cases so that is something you have to come to grips with.  I live on the extreme east coast of the USA and my host is on the extreme west coast in Washington State 2,800 miles away and it works!  All that matters is the quality of service they provide and is it cheaper to have your machines hosted vs your electrical costs, cooling issues, and noise issues.  For me it's a win all around to have my 17 (soon to be 19) miners hosted!

Been busy...couldn't keep up.

Clgrissom (Sonny) said it best. I use Cryptoboreas in Labrador (hence the dog sled memes). They're smart, honest, reliable, and the least expensive. They do what I need done. There are at least four decent hosting services I know of in North America, two in Canada and two in the US Pacific NW. Take your pick!

CB is full up at the moment. The machines I'm sending are replacing two older ones that will remain "on the side" until more power is available. The change gives me a net 4TH increase on less watts.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Had an outage for 25 minutes on the 'nonce' server. (UTC 16:00 to 16:25)
That's the server for people with asicminer tubes.

Seems that the provider decided to not send me an invoice, and suspend it, even though I have a credit balance above the amount of the invoice.
As usual, alarms went off, and then I had to work out why ... ... was rather surprised at the reason and await their excuse ... ...

Nonce server is back up and running so all OK again.

Indeed...I thought I'd heard a few in my [many] moons of hosting adventures...but that's sorta kinda a new one. Inquiring minds want to know...  Kiss

having an issue with my  avalon 721 chain.

It is 3 on a rasp pi.  chain  It  looks like I dropped one miner but the other two work.

I drove to the solar array all three have a blue light as if they are mining.

yet my hash rate is terrible.

has anyone else had this happen?

Yup. I found that physically shutting down all of the miners, and the RPi, then restarting the miners BEFORE starting the RPi (dunno why...but it worked for me). I haven't had that issue with the 741s.
