Getting a couple S9's online, 14TH batch. Any way to adjust the fan speed and Clock anymore? cold basement and chips are 68-71. I'd like to turn fans down for noise and run chips around 88-92. I remember seeing a URL link to still access the fan and clock settings, latest shipped FW does not have those options anymore.

http://miner.ip.addr/cgi-bin/minerAdvanced.cgi

That's as good as it gets but not fan speed directly just a small amount of control over the max frequency

When i try that to raise the freq. it says the miner will be offline for 3 hrs.

Has anyone done this?

Well that sucks, I was able to run a quiet 2900-3200 RPM in the past, now these suckers stay at 4250. Don't know if I can take the humming

Ever since batch-16 many moons ago they have been auto-tune with zero user control over how they work... They are industrial miners and were never designed for 'Home or Office" use. Why do people keep forgetting that?

That said, there are several threads in Hardware about building noise reduction enclosures for these.

I currently mine only with a bitcoin address and can view my stats via

www.kano.is/address.php?a=(BITCOIN ADDRESS). I just do not see any stats of when I have been paid or how often. Is there a detailed page that displays any of this information.

I also apologize if I wasn't supposed to start a new topic to receive this info.

Thanks!
You don't get any stats other than 'current' worker stats, if you mine to an address.
The payout info is your wallet.

If you want more stats then you need to mine to an account.

How do I use this. Where do I insert that into my S9 SW interface? Your help is much appreciated. Mine On!!

Nevermind!! I asked a stupid question. Not willing to lose 3 hours of mining to play with Freq.

Doing the ip reporter reset will give you access to the fan speed again. It is discussed here https://enforum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/3957

I have done this reset on a faulty R4 and though it did not fix my isssue it did give back the "customize the fan speed percentage" option.

I'm in a bit of a battle with Eastshore.XYZ over 2x 14TH S9 i paid for back in early november (so 0.689 BTC !)

They have now sent an email to each of the people buying from that batch and have told us that they will be in fact shipping the 13.5 versions.

12 people total.

I know this because they CC'd the whole list of us !
(instead of BCC)

So not only have they shared all our emails around but they are sending machines i bought (through them instead of elsewhere) because it was the 14TH version.

They then said they would refund us the difference.
$60 !!! Angry

I'm really annoyed they are sending a different unit and i've now (in hindsight of course) virtually paid over $10k for the pair of them...

Their return policy is of course that it is non refundable, but they aren't even shipping me the item i purchased.

Am i out-of-line to be upset here?

No, you're not out of line to complain here. It's how we find out about questionable contacts, etc.

The bad news is that you're SOL, but I think you already understand that. Your experience in this instance is representative of what us "old timers" have learned over the years. Many of us buy only from the mfrs direct, or from endorsed, official distributors (as Canaan has recently moved to). In any other instance with ASICs of any kind, you're doing a crap shoot if you pay in BTC. IMHO.

Would BITMAIN pre-sell one version and then ship a different one?
This is what Eastshore is claiming why they have the different version to ship in the first place.

FWIW, the 2 S9's I ordered for Dec 11-20th batch show Antminer S9-14TH/s in the order status. Granted that doesn't mean anything since I think they claim +/- 5%.  This is my first Bitmain order.

I ordered 4 S9 14TH from Bitmain. All of them had the nomenclature showing 14th/s however one has never, ever, ever hashed above 13.7TH/s. The other 3 are within specs. Of note, the configuration in the one that does not hash to the advertised TH/s is the hottest running machine and the Freq for each hashing board are lower than the 14th/s ones. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the NO FEE TIL 2018

I just joined Kano Pool.  At the moment I have one S9 pointed to the pool that has been running for about 1.5 days.   (I also have 27 more S9's shipping from Bitmain over the next couple of months and I am planning on pointing them all to Kano as well).

I have read Kano's "Payout Page" in order to understand how Payouts work.  And I think I got it.  But I am still unclear as to how often payments get made (Is it every evening?) - And, why is it that some portion of the "payout computation" is performed manually?  Can't it be automated?

Also, how can I see (or estimate) my payout?

Is there a really good place (or book) I can go to read up on and better understand this?

Currently once per block - what you earn in the block (if it's above dust) gets sent to you when I process the block's transaction at 101 confirms.

Probably best here:
http://tradebtc.net/bitcalc.php

Put in your hash rate at "Your TH/s:" and it will estimate what you should average per day
(though it subtracts the 0.9% fee - but of course there's currenty no fee here until 2018)

At the moment we average about 1 block every 3 days, so your block reward would of course be something like 3 days expected reward, per block.
Another way you can work out what the average block time might be is to: look at the 5Nd time estimate on the Payouts Help page, and divide that by 5 Smiley

Hmmm.... I think a little FAQ with the main questions that are asked over and over again here in this thread
will be a really important thing and should be placed somewhere.

If I was new to this pool I just pointed my S3 to this pool just to give it a try. I don't really care about payments and stuff.
But if you bought a serious miner for 2-3k or more than one and like to get your roi you need these informations.

I started reading the thread, but there is no way to find all of your answers in the thread as noob in time.

I know most people don't even read the faq, but if someone ask a noobish question in this thread you
can just point him to the faq.

So I just think a FAQ would be a really good idea.

My S9 from late november batch is labeled as 13.5 but it always mining around 14.0 Th .

The autotune freq colum 'ídeal' shows it tries to get 13.5 Th but it does not succeed and get constant average value of 14.0 Th , same every reboot.

Downside of this extra TH is that the antminer takes 1500 watt instead of my older S9 that only consumes 1400 watt. I would like to underclock a little.

Does anyone use a Nano Ledger S as their wallet for BTC (actually anything)? Are you getting this all the time?
