Kano,

I've just started using your pool, but I didn't enter a BTC address straight away, as I was still figuring everything out. Because of this I've got quite a few rewards that haven't been paid to my address. Is it possible to get these or have the rewards I got before i entered my BTC address been lost?

username is thompson2020

Cheers

When I complete the new accounting/payout code, I'll send out the 'collected dust'.

The 'collected dust' includes payouts with no address to be sent to - in your case roughly the first 1/3 of your mining.

That's totally schweet, kano-san.  We all have accumulated some, usually small, amount of dust over the time we've been here.  You said you'd get around to the code changes needed to handle the dust and 'phantom' accounts accrued, and you are a man of your word. Huzzah!  Cheesy
Mine on, LAMF!!  Cool

I don't believe in superstition because it's bad luck

Once it was dust, now it's not. In future, hope it could be fortune Smiley

With current hash rate, is it expected to find a block every 36 hours? It seems that less hash rate has better return rate for the past few months. I don't understand how it could be.

I pointed both of my Avalon 741s at Kano pool and got set up on the website.

I did myusername.miner1 and .miner2. When i log in to the pool, it only shows miner1 as online, but it has the combined hashrate of both. Well, it did... now it is telling me I have 13.68/9.23 Th/s.

What am I doing wrong?

nothing

based on the assumption you have 1 rasp pi it sends all hash to the pool combined.

you want different workers you need 2 rasp pi's

Ahh! Nope. One worker is fine. Just worried it was a setting I messed up.

Why is it saying 13xxx/9xxx for total hash rate?

CDF says to expect an average, over a large sample, of one in 20.1 blocks to be over 300% ... just like every other pool.

the 13x is the 5 minute average, which moves around a lot.
the 9x is the 1 hour average which takes a while to reach it's expected value ... since it's the average over the past hour or 3 Smiley

Correct, but many of the blocks we've hit recently haven't been much over 100%...so if we get one of those, it'll be at least a week to crack it with our current hash rate.  And that is what I was getting back with the one block every 36 hours comment.

No problem here kano-san!

Prior results have no impact on current or future results!  The human mind likes to think otherwise, however it's a complete fallacy.

In other news, difficulty is slated to decrease by 6% in 12 blocks.  About 2 hours from now..

Hey guys, I see that BTC price is going down.  Looks like that the people that bought a bunch of coins to make some money on the split have started selling them.  Anyone know if the split is still in effect?  Roll Eyes

Bah, BTC still at $6800 is a total win!  And indeed smegwit2x has been stopped for now, hopefully forever.

If you watch BTC price regularly you'll see it goes up and down all the time.  Right now it's on the down swing.

I think people buy when low and sell when high.  Lots of volatility means lots of room for profit.  Or loss, if you play it wrong...

Even if I wanted to get another miner right now Imma wait till the fork, that way I get more of the new alt currency, then convert it to BCH (which I despise) and purchase. Sell the alt to recover some of the lost BTC for purchasing the new miner.

Don't think so. S9 will be best buy for another year. And it isn't so difficult to transfer to the BCH currency they want..

It is better you have a S9 instead of another chinese farm. Decentralize it again by buying S9. And mine with it on Kano (or slush) or another non-chinese monopoly.

Ya its easy to convert btc to BCH other then then the fact that to do so would be to support and help prop up BCH and make it seem as if its a legitment coin that would be able to live on its own without life support Or helping propping it up as if its a weekend at Bernies.

Tho no matter what form of payment someone sends to bitmain is also propping up bitmain and still putting money in jihad wu's hands either way.
