Block Block UTC Miner Reward N Diff N Range Pool N Avg Your % Your N Diff Your N Avg Your BTC 508425 9/Feb 20:11 12.44363511 14.378T 366hr 33m 46s 46.80PHs 0.03% 4.242G 13.80THs 0.00367090 According to this, my s9 is fully ramped up right? I find the reward small for such time... used to make 0.0021xxx BTC on slush daily before I left for kano 16 days ago Or i may be completely wrong? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I hope we crack like 10 in a row in the next days ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) how many blocks were in that day at BTC? You can't look at payout vs. payout, you have to look at block payout vs block payout. And take the ugly with the good. e.g. I just looked at all my slush blocks and at the same hashrate, I was easily 20% better here, and that was only at 89% ramp. assuming over time, we'll average too 100% difficulty, to compare a single block at 500%, vs multiple blocks in a payout just isn't fair. You actually have to look at time period, and not block to block. If kanos pool finds one block a month, and pool-x finds 100, which is more porfitable over the time period is all that matters. Huge variance is a tough pill to swallow when you're only cracking ~5 a month Thanks to both of you for your input. That small payout we got covers electricity and small profit... but it sucks lol.... hope we will get a better next week... or will have to sadly change. ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) If you could get more elsewhere why aren't you there now? Why would you "sadly change"? I guess I would be sad too if I was giving away more of my "small profit". Just because a ball buster block comes around now and again doesn't mean all is lost. Time-weighted average. Mine on.

Firstly, no we don't expect to ever get a 600% block. Though they should average, over a large number of blocks (10's or 100's of thousands), to be 1 in about 400. We expect 100%, but luck and expectation are two completely different things ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Secondly, if you have ramped up, your next payout would match your expected reward per block. Thirdly, if you do end up leaving, you'll still get (diminishing) rewards in any blocks found in the 5Nd after you leave.

Finally a block. Absolutely pathetic reward 0.0002BTC per day for an S9 running 24/7 ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) I do hope we find another block sooner than this one or I will have to bail. Every day counts now as difficulty keeps ramping and more and more miners crowd the field and none of us can afford to run miners at a loss like this for very long. Bitter much? The block rewards are fairly small right now, this isn't the age of 16-18BTC blocks.

Correct. So in essence, if you were to stop mining right now and we didn't find another block for your entire ramp down period, you would be correct that the payout was all you were getting for your mining effort here.

Well, Like you might know, I came to Kano from slush. Reasons? Because of a great community supporting each others and this pool as a great reputation. I knew by coming here we wouldnt crack a block every +/- 5 hours like in slush BUT since we are smaller reward per block would be bigger. I've read alot in this post about the reward always even out compared to other pools... Its not the case now with that mother***** 600% block... I believe I joined in a really bad time ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) but at least im far ahead in the ramping... Just hoping our luck will raise and we crack more of those fu**** ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Are we waiting until all of the confirmations are complete. I ask because the last few blocks I got the BTC immediately after we cracked the block & at 17 confirmations now still the payment is not seen in my wallet. Just curious if you (Kano) changed any of the parameters on how the payments are sent or when they're sent or if we have to wait for another block to be found before we get paid or what's going on? Thanks in advance!

I send out the Payout transaction when the block Matures. In Bitcoin, I can't spend a block until it's reached +101 confirms (nor can anyone else) See Help->Payouts for when you'll see it in your wallet.

Thirdly, if you do end up leaving, you'll still get (diminishing) rewards in any blocks found in the 5Nd after you leave. Can you explain ramp up? What is that My take on a post from Kano a long while back: The 5Nd "ramp" means it takes that long to reward your shares. It's not a punishment and The ramp isn't missing rewards, it's delaying them to reduce variance. Each share is rewarded in all the blocks found in the 5Nd after the share. That's simply how it reduces variance. Each share's reward is averaged out over the 5Nd after it. How do the PPLNS payments work? The 5Nd means the pool rewards 5 times the expected number of shares each time a block is found. So each share will be paid approximately 1/5 of it's expected value in each block it gets a reward, but each share is also expected, on average, to be rewarded 5 times in blocks found after the share is submitted to the pool. So, on the 1st block the pool hits when you start on Kano you get rewarded 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for that block. On the 2nd block the pool hits you get 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 2nd block plus 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 1st block. On the 3rd block the pool hits you get 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 3rd block plus 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 2nd block plus 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 1st block and on and on like that until all of the value of the shares are paid. That's also how you would continue to get payouts for the 5Nd ramp down period after you leave this pool. This is a simplistic view of 5Nd because it is also affected by luck. If pool luck was always 100% then each share is expected to be rewarded 5 times. If pool luck is better than 100%, then the average share reward will be better than 5 times. (Love it when it hits 10-12 times!) If pool luck is worse than 100%, then the average share reward will be less than 5 times. The 5Nd really helps you out if your miners go down for a couple of hours or are down for a day. You would continue to be rewarded if the pool hit a block while you were down. I've seen pools where you would get nothing out of a block if you were down for just an hour or so when the block was hit. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Can you explain ramp up? What is that
It takes some time for you to get full credit for your hash rate, since the pool looks at the last 5 ND shares when it calculates a payout. If you start today, and have 10,000 shares, and we found a block, it looks back at the last 10 trillion shares (5 times the network difficulty.) - so of those shares, you only have a few percent, not your full hash rate. As you mine for longer, your reward gets up to your actual hash rate, and more of those last 5ND shares are yours. It all balances out, because if you stop mining, your shares from the past are still getting credit, even though they're dropping off.

Wonderful! Thank you cryptostarusa for finding the block and thank you everyone for being so helpful!
This is my 2nd block ever! Very excited. 1st block was 202.868% and 2nd block was 596.203%. I hope that all the bad luck has cleared and only super fast blocks remain!

I've ran my miner straight since 1/21 to get a 'reward' that doesn't cover power... Thats not why I mine, but this pool has all the makings of a death spiral if you look at the last 6 months... https://kano.is/index.php?k=blocks

The only death spirals that I know of are either an element in figure skating or a condition of the insurance market.
