Wow, will this drop ever end. I think break-even on an S9 is now electric under $0.12 per kWh. If your electric is any more than that, may as well just buy BTC.

At my current hashrate, I need ~16 payouts to cover my electric. So, if I shutdown and buy BTC, I'll miss out on anything above ~16.
Personally, I'll keep pushing in the red. My situation allows me too. Also, last year on this day at $2,408 and dropping, everyone was in a panic, and the prediction was, Get out while you can!!!  Cheesy

Anyone who's a long term miner, that doesn't have a "farm" electric bill, shouldn't worry about this price fluctuation.

Nothing to see here......Mine on!!!

My electric rates are getting to the point where I need to sell 2 S9s with PSU and cords.  PM me if you want them.  I'd like them to stay on Kano.

I'm break even after 7 blocks opps, make that 8 blocks after the current price drop...lol  I'm locked in on a sweet deal for a year.  Basically I'm paying .04 KwH after a small service fee.  I need to add some miners and their price is dropping faster than bitcoin.

Based on my last reward and a price of $6441, I'm at 19.24 blocks for break-even.  Yeah, I'm starting to get concerned.

I see as we have several choices.

(From Hee Haw on TV from long ago)

Gloom Despair and agony on me!!!  (miserable wail)
Deep dark depression excessive misery,
If it wern't for bad variance(luck) I'd have no variance(luck) at all!
Gloom, despair and agony on me........(sobbing fading out into the distance)

or

(from the Broadway production "Wildcat")

Hey, look me over
Lend me an ear
Fresh out of clover
Mortgage up to here
But don't pass the plate, folks
Don't pass the cup
I figure whenever you're down and out
The only way is up
And I'll be up like a rose bud
High on the vine
Don't thumb your nose
But take a tip from mine
I'm a little bit short of the elbow room
But let me get me some
And look out world
Here I come

and

The third choice is carry on no matter the temporary setbacks as long as you are sure your long term plan has merit.

I mean, it is kind of a state of mind, until you start making life decisions based on your feelings.

(and as I was typing this we found a block!)  Wink  Smiley

Honestly the best you can do is not sweat it... until it becomes a burden.

I wasn't around back then but a lot of the miners we have been getting advice from here mined at a loss for quite some time.

In these instances it sucks because it's a long hold on the idea the price will climb, or the shutdown of equipment until its profitable.

Just consider a half sell and a half hold so that you bring in a bit of coin to help but have your price jump prize.

I won't lie I have been side mining a coin I think has real legs and thats where I moved my coins to hold out the storm. Still a big gamble but we all have to come up with what we think is a winning strategy.
