We reset everything & I fired up the old miner for the first time in a few weeks & cheekily mined 18k in around 10 mins.  The chain is pumping again, it's already up around 1.8 GH/s.  The mining support is really tremendous.  I just hope people will think about holding some of the coins as we've got a great application spec. in the wings.

Looks like no one is mining SONG - so the chain would not be moving (at least when I wrote this response).

Hash-to-Coins has the coin down for maintenance.  The only other way to mine (that I am aware of) is through pool.songcoin.org which also shows no miners at the moment.

Hello everyone,

Just a quick update as perhaps you've noted the increase in volume of late on the exchange C-CEX.com which has worked as a self promoter for continued mining support but has had a somewhat negative effect on the trading value.  Well all that volume and it has to go one way or another I guess.  There are over 20 Million coins in circulation now which strategically appear at opportune trading moments on the exchange.  I believe the downward trend is fine after all SONG is decentralised and at the mercy of all market vagueries in the wild west of digital currencies.  Take it as a good opportunity to bank some cheap more coins if you like.

As I've written before a coin needs real world applications to create genuine value.  This is something our software devs have been hard at work creating for a few months now.  We believe we've got a smart platform that could benefit all niche coins in the future.  One of the difficult things to decide is how do you benefit from such applications and one would hope that a direct appreciation of value would be one result.  Ongoing funding is always a challenge so it would be great if the coin contained enough value to cover the various hosting costs etc.  Alas, it's some way off from that yet but we live in hope of good things to come in the near future.

Another brief update.

We've seen a nice increase in value recently rising from 30Sat 2 weeks ago to an average of around 100Sat overnight.  It was as high as 225Sat at one point.  This combined with noticeable increases in daily volume on C-CEX.com is good to see.  It's also great to see the Hash averaging around 500MH/s but there's also been continued strip mining, sometimes over 5 GH/s. I suppose this has to be expected with a coin in it's relative infancy.  The latency we've experienced post pillage should be addressed by our running of around 50 MH/s at all times & this should address the stalled chain issue.

We've also been talking to some interested parties and have decided to start work on a dedicated chinese website Songcoin.cn.  We are hoping this will help bring some much needed trade to Songcoin.  After all the Song Dynasty in China were said to have created modern money a thousand years ago.  Note: C-CEX.com are now hosting a Chinese page on their exchange.  Do some searching and you may find what the innovative Chinese are planning to do with certain Altcoins.

Unfortunately work on our promotional music platform has stalled for the moment until we're able to raise some more capital.
