Is this coin ever used as a currency?  How do the masternodes make any money if no one is actually using it to transact?

Right now the platform is still in development. The goal is to accommodate individuals and businesses to run their ideas or operation on the Crown ledger. Facilitating identity registration, transactions, messaging and whatever one comes up with.
At that point in time, lots of transactions will happen. Until then, Crown is merge mined with BTC or BCC - so it's for the occasional transactions. You can use crown as a payment system for some crypto-payment providers already.

Everyone is using it to transact sir, Crown has much faster transaction processing than bitcoin for instance. You can use it now to pay your bills with welto.io you can buy a shirt you can buy your node hosting costs, etc etc

My explorer script is having some serious issues, so I decided to pull the plug on my public explorer service.. I don't have time to fix this while I work on my own project..

I expect it to be online again somewhere in februari... I will keep you posted..

Crown is one of the most stable and active Masternode-coin.

If u check the chart, u see that Crown is steadily growing. Community is active, dev's are active and just released System-Nodes.

The organizer is a guy really focused on good blockchain projects with real use cases as main goal. He is going to investigate Crown, he had some bad experiences. When he does and finds out all our good features, he will help me with a presentation of Crown for Santander, Bilbao and Leon, main Hubs in the north of Spain. We will do it after the kickstarter video, which will be a great plus. Also he is planning a summit in Santander bringing people from all the north of Spain, I will try we are sponsors and exhibitors, this will be 20th January. CROWN ATOMIC weekly update 25.11.2017

We have been working to improve and reorganize our development process and manage the Crown code in a more professional and effective way. More info will be announced next week. We had meetings with our Spanish partner and discussed technical details of using the Crown platform for their application. Part of the team is traveling to Madrid on Wednesday and Thursday next week to take part in a global marketing campaign launch of this project. The partnership will be disclosed officially on Monday, December 4th.

Artem and his team are working on the Crown Atomic road map that will be available at the end of next week. We also plan to take some additional people on board. We are in the negotioation process with them. Some of them are members of the Crown community who have reached out to us and would like to get involved in the Atomic structure.
