In search of Dragons

My men and I have been at it for months in the southern portion of White Cross's fire borough. It seems our area is void of Dragons--though we hear strange murmurings in the night and it always feels like someone (or some thing) is watching us. My one man says the land is cursed, while the other says it is blessed; as yet I am undecided. Unless the Dragon is on the move, it seems our searching is at an end. I decide to break camp and make way for the rendezvous point in the center of White Cross--hopefully the others will have had better luck.

First week on the estate was fairly dull. I spent my last monerito (and slice of pig meat) to get that charge, so I couldn't do anything "tangible" for a few days. I spent the time getting to know the place, the people, and preparing for possible problems with Aaspere, which lies a bit close for comfort.

The first harvest was on thursday, and it sold whole at close to 2000, so that was more than 6mil. I placed an order for two PTE guards. I doubt these will do anything before next week. Now I'm waiting for the next batch.

Second and third harvests sold together at close to 1600, yielding about 8.3mil.

Meat arrived at the year end, and I decided to list it at a high price, waiting for other sellers to be out of produce. Let's hope there's still demand after the glut is gone.

The first guards were hired on the start of the second week. The meat from the end of the first week hadn't yet sold, so hiring was put on freeze after that till the hungry mob reached our sell orders on thursday, and left us with 15.5mil for the meat. This money was immediately put as bids on the PTE market.

Six more guards were hired on friday with the meat profits. My original calculation based on two weeks' income now shows to not have accounted for the delay between meat production and sale, so this week's meat will not come early enough to go towards more guards. However, since it appears manors do not need officers, this is not a problem.

Last VEG sold for the second week yielded about 17mil, with which more bids were put for PTE guards. Remaining VEG and the december meat have not sold yet by end of year. Remaining bids for 4 PTE were sold to.

At the end of the second weeks, Pada Manor has 13 PTE guards, with bids for another four left on the market. I think that means no BV, since there is no officer, but if they're not needed for manors, it's not clear how that changes the calculation. None of the peasants who were training with their scythes and other tools decided to join so far, which is disappointing. It is unclear how many guards are needed. After all, if we're invaded by an actual army, we wouldn't be able to do much anyway, so this is just for protection against robbers and the like, for which this amount of armed guards may be sufficient.

Palazzo Gaming Corporation IPO is closed

The company has 2 series of shares, S-PGC1 with less privileges until 1639, and S-PGC with special investor protections. Both are tradable but Sir Noms and King have announced they are not interested in trading their S-PGC1 for now. In 1640, all shares will be merged to S-PGC 1:1, and have equal rights from then.

First actions of the new company

CT1625 Token amount is increased to 100,000 tokens representing and redeemable in 5,000 CKG (100 tokens per 5 CKG). For this, the normal fee up to 7,000 tokens (40 mil) is paid, and for the 93,000 tokens only material (copper=KMT) is charged by the Mint.

To get the tokens distributed, a following scheme happens:
- 20,000 tokens are given as dividends to the shareholders, 2*CT1625 per share
- King buys 5,000 casino tokens at 50*CR1625E to be used in Jubilee giveaways and other schemes
- 75,000 are left to be sold at the market and retained as part of the bankroll.

The rest of the gold is given to the Mint and equal amount in CR1625E gold coins is returned. This is free of charge as per earlier promise.

Chinese Zodiac 2 CKG coins offered by Royal Mint

The CRyearB coin series started in 1618. It is a collector coin series with a standing order token (S-CRB) whose holders get the new issues automatically and are billed the introduction price of the coin.

The introduction price may never be more than 1.5*gold ask, which means for such a small coin that the absolute markup is < 1 mil currently.

The coins may not be minted more than every other year, and this is what has been done so far.

Each new issue stays in the market for a few years at most, and the price is never lowered below the introduction price (it may be raised if the demand is large, but new coins will not be minted). The contrary: what is left of the issue will be smelted to ensure collectibility - Eg. only 49 of the CR1620B Hydrogen Helix coins remain!

The years 1622 - Dog, 1624 - Rat, 1626 - Tiger and 1628 - Dragon are now in the market, and the unsold coins will be smelted when the next issue (1630 - the Bicentenary of CryptoTown) is minted in 1630.

It is our wish that the coins do sell, though. Except for Dragon (50%), their markup is only 25%, and only 88 instances of each has been minted.

The series will eventually contain all the 12 Zodiac signs and is currently expected to consummate with Horse in 1654. The requirement to mint only each other year, and other things worth honoring with a coin, and the fact that each Zodiac coin is dated to the actual year of that animal (per July), prolong the schedule.

1 CKG coins ruling

Instead of 7 very-most rare coins for the years 1619-1625, the EXP of all the characters for these years is evaluated as a lump sum, and ~70*CR1625A raffled to them in proportion. It might sound unfun but having too many so rare coins is actually hurting collectibility by making it too expensive to collect the full series, resulting in giving up altogether. This way, the gap also makes it possible to specialize in the Reconstruction-era (1601-1618) or the new era (1625-), boosting the resale value of these certificates of early adoptership.

Due to the needs of Palazzo Gaming Corp to have a standard gold token for the games, 5,200 of this has been minted already. It will also be Favorited, and possibly Coinshop will offer market making for it, in addition to the liquidity that the gamers will provide, and also the smalltime investors. (Due to markups and collectibility, it is unlikely that 1-2 CKG coins will ever reach enough of liquidity to be of interest to even small investors, if the aim is to speculate on the price of gold, and not of the other components of the price).

Please remember that the Smelter offers a very easy conversion of unwanted gold items to liquid items. To boost the mintage of CR1625E, Smelter reduces the mint fee to 1.29% (normally 1.79%) for selection "5", meaning CR1625E. This offer is in force until the end of Jubilee.

Admin update

We are in the progress to organize the admin scripts (such as timing of new foods, laborers etc) to be more realistic and interesting, and happen in an expected time each year. Also the sweeping success of Palazzo IPO ate up my time but it was fun

So naturally this gives an excuse to:
- Last year's delayed PRE post is coming asap
- Last year's everything related to NPC and buildings, will be merged with 1625, given Saturday
- CKG dividends likewise
- Noble promotions are decided, and will be announced soon
- Badges, etc will be doled out during the year

The example-character Martti made it to his 22nd day. In as many times of logging in to the game, he has managed to:

Interesting news: Due to the interconnection between salaries of Army and OTH personnel (which were delayed due to too much work), it is not possible to give PRE either! So the 1624-1625 PRE round will be a double one, based on the double salaries that will be paid approx this Saturday!

The messenger is awaiting for the response from HH The Duke of North Face.

The commandant has been worried that Polonians, or even the country as a whole, would turn sour towards CK because we are now allied with their archenemy, in addition to that we are occupying their lands, or anyway lands that have much more historical connection to them than us (trolls do not walk free in CryptoTown for instance). The worry has so far been unfounded, things are very peaceful there and preparations advancing. The story of Ezekiel being almost killed and his possessions stolen has to have been an isolated incident.

The Duke of NF forces have been exploring this piece of land, but strangely they have not sent back any messengers. This is worrying. Hopefully information comes soon.

Ramsey - 33 - 12

Getting along with the locals with no taxes levied to them, the Duchy of Ramsey survey is going on very well.

Presumably after hearing about CK alliance with Sweden, some of the peasants in Ramsey have grown markedly more restless. Sweden had plundered the area some years ago when it still belonged to Polonia. Marauders have even appeared to disturb our logistics there. Perhaps stationing more forces might help (especially mounted), and defining the borders more clearly.

The situation worsened during 1624. The peasants are in open but currently non-violent rebellion and the use of the north-south road is dangerous. The Duke of Ramsey needs to decide whether to pacify the situation by negotiation or by instituting martial law and hanging the highway robbers on the spot. Mounted forces with good training are needed.

The troops exploring the southern part of the Duchy (for the first time now) found some wonderful things, which unfortunately are not public for now.

Gustaf Adolf is interesting in hearing our scientific progress for 1624 and wishes we would conclude it even if it were delayed (as it surely is).

OldDuchy - 26 - 10

The Royal CryptoArmy campaign in 1624 was aimed at the Rossiyan locals who have been unruly in the border area between Stonehaven and OldDuchy, even including places like the "road" (trail) between them, and the manor of Kunda! The information on how the Army is doing is not very positive, though. The Rossiyans do not care about soft methods, and the Army is not (yet) employing the hard ones very efficiently. Several troops have even been lost in ambushes but searching the locals from house to house is not done because it would cause resentment and probably yield little usable info anyway. This is a clear problem zone now as the convoys to the north need to be heavily protected with a section and even still they can only wish to get through.

The expedition to establish the border to the southeast was much more of a success. Even though the population there is predominantly Rossiyan, the central government did not seem to exercise much influence: the land was quite swampy and not among best lands, and population density not very high. A new county could be established here to strike when the iron is hot!

Massive forces guard the River crossing site, but there is absolutely nothing to report. The Swedish preparations advance at exactly the rate we estimated them to do, and so do our own. All traffic to CryptoTown suffers from insecurity at the moment. Even though it is much longer in distance, it might make sense to get to the capital through Riga as long as the situation persists, but we don't have ships!

Thing are going well in here. Lord Syksy's modest appearance and humble conduct has made him very trusted and popular in Petrichor and no issues with the locals have been reported. The majesty of Zechariah, in turn, appealed to the Tavastians (Zech could pay a visit to his domains in 1624 by crossing the river from the Army camp - now he is in the capital to participate in the festivities). Both counties seem to wish that they would be under Crypto Kingdom overlordship (and not Sweden or Rossiya). Many of the characters in CK trace their roots to these northern regions, so the peasants feel the connection and submit to our rule willingly.

1625 - Quasquibicentenary Jubilee of Crypto Kingdom and HM The King

About 35 characters are invited to the Throne Room private celebration. The ones who visit it the first time, will be awarded TB. Plenty of good wines and spirits will be consumed (gifted to participants for consumption) so save up some quota! 10*TB1625 given, receivers Decorated, and all guests received a Tasting package containing the choice liquors (RME, ABS, CXO, W1600M, W1603A, W1604, W1615P) except some missed the ABS, too bad.

100 QJB badges will be awarded to all the regular and good citizens in all levels L3-L20. This cannot be gained ever again. Tokens: Done, the Decoration is coming soon.

CB can be claimed if you meet the following qualifications:

A gift towards good health will be given to everyone 100 years older or more, since this is a costly age for the health challenge. 32 bottles of SW3 - Elixir of Life and Happiness - were gifted, one to each.

Anyone who is in L6 or higher, and does not yet have a Quest, can ask for one from the GM. It does not cost anything and there is no official penalty for not completing it (sometimes the politics etc prevent completion, such is life), but a completed quest benefits:
- The completer is Knighted in the Doplhin and gets the electrum medal;
- CK may move forward if eg. dangerous enemies are slain, treasures discovered or science advanced by the Quest.

The King is very sorrowful for the sorry state of the Royal Palace. The main celebration is therefore held in the House of Magnificence, in the 576 sqm main hall (12-25 m high). You can contribute to the rebuilding effort by:

- Buying CT1624, only 50 minted and cost 1 mil each
- Buying CAO-1, a most ancient Jewellery box, only 10 mil each (8 for sale, at this price it is a steal as nothing similar even exists in the game)
- Buying CAO-13, the 1:100 most elaborate model of Royal Palace (K6), roof overlaid with the gold salvaged from the Royal Palace roof from 1446 (13 CKG each), this costs almost 50 mil to make but for this price we sell it. 13 identical units made (max). (The Royal Palace fire was 13th of VII, 1623, this explains the use of 13.
- These purchases heavily benefit towards KFB, because who is poorer than the one whose 2 bil house just burned down without insurance?!  

Because of the success of RAF-1 Jubilee Raffle, a similar one will be organized as soon as the admin volunteers Please save all your Anniversary gifts to the raffle prize pot, since it will be completely with donated gifts, and all proceeds of ticket sales will go to the reconstruction fund of the Royal Palace.
