Yeah, and the fact that they balloon the hashrate and then turn it down when a few hundred blocks are left resulting in a flat rate but increased difficulty is not any kind of manipulation in your opinion, right ?
No, it's not manipulation, it's simply mining variance, a.k.a. luck. Like I said earlier, look it up. It's not some personal opinion, it's the mathematical reality of bitcoin mining. Seriously, you need to look up "mining variance" right now.

I honestly think bitcoinwisdom do more harm than good with their 514 and 1008 rolling average lines. They're pointless and misleading.

OK, I get it. Those regular spikes in hashrate that fizzle toward the end of a period are due to variance, a.k.a. luck. Now I feel so much better about my constantly falling payouts.

Are you having a mental breakdown or something? I've no idea what you are even talking about now. You appear to just be spouting gibberish to increase your activity.

I was wondering if there was some secret clubhouse where the big farm operators get together. On the count of 3, they all turn an agreed on amount of their operation offline.
After difficulty settles, they start everything back up again.
I'm wondering if the amount of bitcoin sacrificed while offline is less than the bitcoin that can be mined at a lower difficulty over time.

P.S. I sure hope that I cause no heart attacks among cultists, really I do. Mabsark seemed a bit excited which got me worried.

So, where is that 25 PH/s going to come from ? Variance, luck? Maybe hashrate is a function of difficulty

Seriously though, 1911 posts and a clear misunderstanding of how difficulty is calculated. Why do you answer a question with another question? Well, I´m sure I´m not the only one who has trouble figuring out this sorry mess. Where is that 25 PH/s going to come from ?

I was going to answer your question but I realise it would just be wasted effort. By the way, you do realise you're not in a signature campaign don't you?

Ah, I finally get it. The hashrate is a function of the difficulty. This explains why the difficulty and bitcoin charts have perfect inverse correlation that is travel in the opposite directions. The more difficult mining gets the more resources you put into it and the more the price of the product tanks. Only on planet Bitcorn.

Galdur, pay attention: The activity number is determined in this way: time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration activity = min(time * 14, posts)
Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

I actually showed these charts to a guy at the bank here and he said, what the hell is that difficulty, is that how difficult it is to make this bitcoin thing? And that´s increasing exponentially? While bitcoin tanks? How strange. How do you make any money? It seems totally doomed. Well, I said, obviously it´s totally scam-ridden from top to bottom so someone is still making money otherwise it´d have given up the ghost already.

Thanks Mabsark, I had no idea. Just like to rant on message boards. Don´t give an eff about this activity. It´s tanking fast now. Hashrate(?): 288,138,900 GH/s Estimated Next Difficulty: 43,856,502,619 (+7.91%)
