With the upcoming diff spike and and the currant BTC price, prices for miners are becoming less attractive. Things are going to get interesting. I was about to pickup another C1 because of the quietness over the new S5s, but with the current conditions buying these miners is starting to become hard to rationalize. I hope BITMAIN continues to make water cooled models when & if things turn around.

Sorry, they aren't planning to make C1 based on BM1384 chips...

I would guess it's speculation.  I personally have not seen a official message.   But it would not surprise me if it's true.  Water cooled add's some cost's that air cooled just don't have to deal with.

Odd.  I ssh'd into the C1 some time back and changed the root password using the unix command passwd, logged out and logged back in using the new password.  Today I went to log in and the password had reverted to admin while the GUI was still connected and unchanged.

Reported to engineers, thanks

Hello guys .
special greetings to Mr. dogie

firstly, I would like to thank you for your great installing guide which helped me a lot to install my c1 miner .
secondly , I realy want your assisstance to make my miner mine .
I'm very new to mining so please have patience guys if you see any silly questions  Grin .

my c1 miner is 2nd batch with cooling kit .
I'm useing 2 cooler master psu's (  620 watts & 725 watts , 85% efficiency ) to power the miner .

I connected 4 pci's to the miner ( 2 from 620 +2 from 725  in one line ) . the cooling system is working fine .
but the miner is not mining . I connected the miner directly to my labtop using ethernet cable following your  guide .
the first thing I've noticed is that If my labtop is connected to the miner with a cable , it can not connect to the internet using wifi .
I logged to the setting page on 192.168.1.99 to change the worker name to my username.1,
then change network settings to dhcb . then I connected the miner to the internet cable but it doesn't mine . I note that when I turn on the miner
it lights red around 1 minute .

I have no idea how to find the miner page after changing the ip adress to dhcb, but I can fing what ip is assigned to my labtop if I connect it to the intenet cable .

You could look in router for connected devices.  Also can use M's program to see antminers on network.

If that fails there is always reset, and as last resort putting the image listed in second post on sd.

Let's see if I can't help you... still waiting on my C1's but been mining for long.

First of all, I figure you changed from Static to DCHP, well, the miner needs an antenna if you go DHCP (WiFi)

Secondly, to access the computer, you need be on the same subnet as the miner.

Manually change your computer's IP to 192.168.1.199 (Yes, .1.199)

You should now be able to access your miner's interface.

However you still need to directly connect to the miner itself to change its settings... you will need an ethernet cable and a router/switch.

Sometimes you can connect directly to the miner sometimes you can't, via ethernet cable... (I never use DHCP)

If it don't work directly or with a router though, you will need a switch... you may need to even change your router's IP address since some routers use 192.168.1.1 as default address which often conflicts with a mining network.

Personally, I cannot connect directly to my miners and have no idea why but works through a switch or router.

If you go buy a switch make sure you get a big enough one you can grow into with GigaBit (10/100/1000) ethernet. (No pun intended)

I got a 24 port Rosewill, has a 5 year warranty and costs around $100, tough and does its job perfectly and then some.

I just got a tp-link router . I connected the miner to it and yes , I'm now able to access to the miner page .
but the problem still unsolved  : the miner doesn't mine . I'm sure it's connected to the internet .
Is there any special configuration for the pools ??
I'm not really sure if my connection goes through a 80 port . any advice ??

For tp-link router, try to set static ip address to192.168.0.99 instead of 192.168.1.99

How can you go beyond 275M? I'm pretty sure you need to edit /config/cgminer.conf. How do you restart the miner from the command line?
175MHz @ 0.650V                              :   356W =0.51W/GH
250MHz @ 0.720V                              :   650W =0.65W/GH
250MHz @ 0.760V                              :   662W =0.66W/GH
275MHz @ 0.760V                              :   809W =0.74W/GH
275MHz @ 0.800V                              :   900W =0.82W/GH
300MHz @ 0.815V                              :  1052W =0.88W/GH

EDIT: I just saw 2 asics marqued with x after 2 hours at 275M@760 on a miner. I will leave them at stock setting.

That far out I would make sure to have a cold ambient.

I have not spoke about 2 batch ones for a while.  I can say after getting water cooling parts sorted out these machines do run really stable(Note Bitmain was always helpful and pointed me in right directions).  I thought it would be a interesting experiment to do a water cooling miner is what sold me on them.  I have been lucky to have a cold winter ambient which keeps them in low temps.   It is common to see this miner go into days (if not weeks) on uptime.

So long story short Smiley the batch ones are running good and will continue to hash away.

Yes, there are 64 ASICs and one or more can be worser than the others, so if you want to OC, you need to increase voltage. It is up to everyone if he wants to break RMA and OC his C1. All my miners are working at 0.775 and 815mV with 300MHz clock without x and without excessible HW errors (HW errors <0.0005%)

Fortunately my Fortron 600W (single rail) seems to be more stable than it's bigger brother Raider 750W, I can take 48A continuously from 600W while at this amperage most of Raiders 750W died even they are rated 60A for 750W, but 600W is 42A only.

I did ssh into miner and firstly edited GUI and corrected error in 275MHz showing 2275MHz, then I added lines for increasing frequency, but it was not completely persistent, frequency set last time remained after reboot, but GUI were overwrited by its original version with "2275MHz" bug. So I changed /conf/cgminer.conf and simple pressed save and apply button in GUI which restart cgminer correctly with new config.

That is more than just internet or other soft problems. You need to reflash the SD card using the image in the #2 post of this thread.

Remove the case, download SD card imager and use it to flash the image here.

I just found out that my ISP filters all of the ports exept 5 ports 3333 and 80 are not among them . can I mine to 3389 port or I need to use SSH tunnel or VPN service ??
can I set my router to route connections to that ssh ??

I'd still try the SD card image first. You may be able to reroute to pool via BFG as a proxy.

You might check into your router settings. (Possibly modem depending on connection).   I know my ISP had all kinds of blocking with it's default settings.  I was able to talk my ISP into making my cable modem into a pass-through mode where my router is in charge of firewall now.

250MHz @ 0.720V                              :   650W =0.65W/GH
250MHz @ 0.760V                              :   662W =0.66W/GH
275MHz @ 0.760V                              :   809W =0.74W/GH
275MHz @ 0.800V                              :   900W =0.82W/GH
300MHz @ 0.815V                              :  1052W =0.88W/GH

EDIT: I just saw 2 asics marqued with x after 2 hours at 275M@760 on a miner. I will leave them at stock setting.

This is a bit different than the specs outlined here in the oc thread.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=883197.0

How does the GH compare based on this?

That is more than just internet or other soft problems. You need to reflash the SD card using the image in the #2 post of this thread.

Remove the case, download SD card imager and use it to flash the image here.
I just found out that my ISP filters all of the ports exept 5 ports 3333 and 80 are not among them . can I mine to 3389 port or I need to use SSH tunnel or VPN service ??
can I set my router to route connections to that ssh ??

You might check into your router settings. (Possibly modem depending on connection).   I know my ISP had all kinds of blocking with it's default settings.  I was able to talk my ISP into making my cable modem into a pass-through mode where my router is in charge of firewall now.
I reimage the SD card and guess what <<< nothing change , miner status is showing no data at all  Sad , I don't think I have a lot of options because I'm using a university internet . I don't think I can talk to my ISP . which one you suggest to me :
1- buy a vpn plan 5 usd . (I haven't try rerouting before )
2- buy a internet plan 20 usd . (not sure if isp close ports or no)

Do you have to sign in to use the university internet? (Even if you had to just sign once when first setting up pc)  If there is a login to use internet this could be a reason for somethings.  I have a feeling this could possibly be part of problem.

Dogies idea of proxy should allow you to mine through your PC's connection that is working.
