Watching this I can't help contemplating the following thought:
MtGox has resorted to fractional reserve banking.
While in fall they are selling high and buying low.
The Lag is a result of processing those orders out of turn to keep their balance sheet solvent.

I cant buy now OR sell, hit the button and nothing happens, what an absolutely travesty

and as long as we continue rewarding Gox with our business we get what we deserve

We need institutional help. NEED IT. How on earth do they keep letting this happen. There will be lawsuits.

I'm working on a new matching engine. Its the engine behind orderbook keeping.

My vision is to have a protocol that handle orderbook keeping to give CONCURRENT orders matching. Its will be fully decentralized. The exchanges will then just a front end using this protocol. Exchanges will be competing purely on services fee and local banking connection.

I know its not very clear right now but bitcoin will need this to survive.

I didn't get Goxxed this time. But I did get Stamped. Unable to log in throughout this farce.
I'm tempted to build my own exchange. With blackjack and hookers. Come to think of it, forget about the exchange.
Ah screw the whole thing.

For those that don't understand. The reason you see a $50 spread is because people placed market orders with an hour of lag. Everyone that is buying at $150 right now is probably pretty pissed, along with the people selling for $105. That's probably the biggest problem with the Gox lag. Unfortunately, those people probably don't even know Gox lags at all.

BTW, here comes the bounce.

I want to make clarification of the bold part: my engine will be able to do INSERT and MATCHING operations concurrently per price level.

I've looked at bitfloor's. I believe this is what caused all the lags on MtGox.

Very happy with my $106 bitcoins, but that was disgraceful. Taking them out of all exchanges until I find one that doesn't break down every week.

I sold LTC at 3.50 and bought BTC for 175, guess I should have waited longer, but I still hope to see the 300.00 price tag in a week. I don't know if it was a bad idea or not, but I have my fingers crossed.

It is beyond me why anyone would listen to this bumbling idiot. He works for a propaganda news network. He clearly has 0 dignity. Why would you listen to a word he has to say?

What he fails to realize is that that week of capital just shifted from one set of users to another, so to disregard it as insignificant is pretty unapologetic. What happened to his $10billion in capital he was trying to get? What a dirt bag.

I'd not trust a word that guy says. Hasn't he been posting nonsense about a billion dollar coming so everybody hold? That's pump and dump (nobody with a billion dollars buying announces it in advance.)

As for the price action... trollolol. It'll be even harder to keep the bubble going after this wake-up call.

It'll burst, then some time to make up fantasy explanations without a bubble, and when the bust sets in there'll be drama for everyone.
