Guys, check the blockchain. I just noticed 87.78% of all the coins (basically the top rich listers) HAVE NOT MOVED ONE SINGLE COIN FROM THOSE ADDRESSES. How bizarre is that? Especially since 92% of coins are not staking (probably excluding primes). Just think of that for a second and how centralized this coin is and yet it still is succumbing to downward sell pressure and hardly gaining any price appreciation. ~13% is causing this. Once you get down to the "normal" wallets you see tons of transaction activity in them. To me that seems like GAW and insider's cold wallets. GAW themselves said they use warm, hot and cold wallets and probably luke warm and room temperature wallets too.

Just start from block one and look where the coins go... They split all the way down and whenever a dispersal happens the leftover goes to a completely new address. This premine dispersal script, in my opinion, is designed to make it difficult to see exactly how many coins were not allocated to either "primes" or hashpoint conversions. There very well may be tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands, of XPY spread out in small 100 coin or less balances that are being used to create pure profit through PayBase credit card purchases and/or slowly dripping into the exchanges. This is my main concern about the long term viability of this coin. There is absolutely no accounting for all 12 million coins. |

Ars isn't some wordpress fly by night blog (like CCN or any of the multitude of other crypto-news sites). From http://arstechnica.com/about-us/: Ars Technica was founded in 1998...
They have a little bit of experience in this game, not like they just popped up in the last 2 years. I think Ars has been around longer than some of the XPY investors have been born :-P Acquired in 2008 by Advance, the parent company of Conde Nast, Ars Technica has offices in Boston, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.
I've been reading them for years, and they have put together a lot of good articles (everything from covering CPU releases in great detail, patent troll cases, security breaches, to some crypto news). They have reporters which sit in on trials to report (like the Apple vs Samsung case, or most of the Newegg patent troll cases). They have reporters that do assignments, like at NASA facilities, at SpaceX events, and just about every tech event that comes up (CES, WWDC, build, etc). Plus they have a really great community. A lot of the comments on the articles provide great detail and insight. The community is almost like Slashdot 5-7 years ago. I think Josh is barking up the wrong tree on this one. Josh spoke on the phone to give his side, now, according to Cyrus "[Josh] made some claims that sound wild to me, but I want to check". Josh must be nervous about what he has told Cyrus to already be coming out blasting it. Personally I can't wait to read it. |

No problem. If anything I think this is a good sign. Ars is by no means "mainstream", but if they are starting to pick up the story, that means it is starting to break out of the tight knit crypto community. Can be good and bad I guess. |

Are there any ASICs for SHA256 or scrypt that can be used wireless? I think maybe buying a cheap asic to use at work with free electricity for ~6 hours a day would be ok. It shouldn't draw too much power to be noticed, it just has to be wireless. Maybe even if there is such a thing as a usb scrypt miner? I typically use a VPN at work. Suggestions? This is the most active thread. Anywhere else sucks ass to try to get questions answered.

I believe that the Bitmain S3 can be adapted to use WiFi. You would need a small antenna to attach to the board inside the miner. |

Thanks guys. I bet I could just bridge a connection from my laptop to the miner now that I think about it. Mining doesn't take any bandwidth. Noise isn't a big deal...I work nights.
