Wait if it's a bitcoin address, isn't it technically a bitcoin transaction? I don't see how any of those transactions would count as paycoin transactions.

I could make purchases in altcoin converted to bitcoin instantly using shapeshift just as well couldn't I?

Possibly doing what VeriBit/similar services are doing – they take XPY and pay out with BTC.

Well I am officially done with GAW. Dumped my 46.98 XPY for 1.0052017 BTC on Cryptsy. It's been real and it's been fun, but it hasn't been real fun.

With lack of buyer confidence (which is happening right now), if it's a ponzi, we will know really quickly. Within 2 weeks or less. If it's a real business, no buying won't affect things at all. If it is a ponzi, no buying will mean it will be dust. All will be revealed very very soon either way. Don't shoot the messenger. I don't have any bias at all. I own some shares. My car payment isn't depending on it like some apparently though.

Tons of shit. Some people haven't got paid for last week. Big accounts apparently. Some partially paid. Also, you won't get paid unless you log in the account suddenly. And there's a 24 hour lockdown. So any one that hasn't logged in in a while will not get paid in the next payout. Supposedly they sent an email but neither of my accounts got the email. They announced they are waiting one day to pay out because not enough people logged into their accounts to verify their addresses. In the mean time they have a crazy 50% sale which is even good for their new 2nd generation asics. If that doesn't scream ponzi I don't know what does.

I hardly believe LTCGear is a scam, ROI rates are way to high for it to last year or more...
It hast the highest ROI i know... But sure everything is possible

No, I don't know for sure and it will take "coming weeks" until it is implemented.  But that is par for the course for ALL coins.  Things are announced an d then we wait for it to be put in place.

My only concern is the verification process.  How long will tier 2 verification take?  Once that is complete, I am sure I will be able to sell XPY for BTC at the Paybase price, which should be $20.

If you looked at the verification process, you will see there is a limit on how much dumping can happen each week.  If you think the "investors" are going to liquidate all their coins on day 1, you're mistaken based on the verification requirements.  

Oh, I'm aware of that and I'm pretty sure very few if any will  be able to liquidate soon. Just not quite sure yet how the limitations will be applied

From what I'm reading it appears that buyer confidence in it is drying up fast, obviously because of the problems recently and now the delayed payment this week. This is just anecdotal based on reading threads, various people saying they are no longer going to reinvest or buy more, or some saying they are going to sell off soon.
