Hate to nitpick, but there is a small typing error in the OP :

Digital Geocaching Implementation: An online web interface where geocoins can be dragged and dropped onto a map. When a different user visits that location (coordinate), they receive the geocoins.
Geodashing is an outdoor sport in which teams of players use GPS receivers to find geopoints around the world. The objective is to visit as many geopoints as possible and receive geocoins for it. There are quite a few fun ideas surrounding this initiative.

Although I admit, geodashing sounds cool  Smiley

Hello GEOCOIN Community here is the Chinese Translation for GEO..Enjoy.. : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=973465.new#new   Smiley

Thanks for the translation. I added it to the OP.

I also added a couple screenshots for the geocaching tech  Cool

You can drop a coin on high-res aerial images for precise placement.

You can see GeoCoins on street view too. Drag them around and save their location for other people to find.

Looks like excellent progress Tobler!  I'll be happy to help test this over the weekend when I have more time!  Nice work so far!!  Grin

This brings up an important question.  Do the GeoCoins need to be dropped within areas of cell coverage?  I assume your mobile device needs to be online to accept the GeoCoins.

IF Tobler pulls off the long term plan, GEO will be $1 this year.

That would be a cheap price I'm sure. The GIS industry is huge and geocaching is very popular all over the world. I think lots of new people will be coming into the crypto industry from this coin. GEO is the only real innovative coin out there right now as far as I can tell.

Good question. As long as your device has an onboard GPS unit, the app can access your coordinates even when you are offline. When you come back into internet range, there is a history of where you have been & you will receive the geocoins. You can give Mt Everest a shot but you'll probably need lots of batteries to get you to the top while tracking your position  Cheesy

This will create a total hype. What entices people? money. Well there you have it, with Geocoin you can say "look bud, if you go there and there you get money" bud asks "what do I have to do?" you "Nothing, just go to that place and if you make it you'll be rewarded" This can spark a crypto gold rush. I have moved my coins of the exchange and will wait. If there is any coin that can succeed it's Geo.

Shops can create faucets, rewarding people coming to their store. It's a great way of advertising.

Once the ball starts rolling, the general public is drawn into crypto. The acceptance of crypto is a byproduct of Geocoin's infrastructure, but a very important one. I feel it's the missing link between the general public and crypto. Because why would Joe the plumber use a volatile currency like Bitcoin instead of cash? When you think of it, there is no reason. With Geocoin there is a true incentive, people will get drawn to it because actually using it is what makes it cool. Even Uberpop can use Geo, the passenger puts coins on his destination and the driver picks up the coins on arrival, all by mobile phone. Or a user can put coins on his pickup location, the driver that gets there first recieves the bonus.

With Bitcoin, there are miners and traders and a few users.

With Geocoin, the users may outweigh the miners and traders. Using Geo is the prime legitimacy of the coin, where the backbone is supported by miners because the price of Geo will make it worthwile to mine.
