I work with GIS and I don't see how this has any way to help anyone? Esri has all the information out there and is pretty much a monopoly and having people visit locations won't do much and won't provide much data. It's not like we have people out there scanning the terrain with special equipment to receive their coin rewards and uploading that data.

Hi, I am a GIS professional and have been working with ESRI and open source GIS products for over 10 years. It may seem with government agencies, ESRI has a monopoly on the GIS market. However this is not true; The open source GIS community is continuously growing as their products get more and more advanced. In several ways more advanced than ESRI products. If anything its a bad thing for software development to use ESRI because you are locked into that vendor. You have to continuously pay them the license fees and they try to make their products not function with other products. You require their support. We call it "vendor lock". ESRI does not have "all the information out there" either and GIS is so much more than just data collection alone.  The GeoCashing wallet itself has huge potential for the crowd to source GIS data by verifying things in real life (still so much we can develop, try to open your mind to the possibilities of what we can accomplish with these technologies & the newest devices inside smartphones) but the main advantage to the GIS industry will be with the developments of the Geominer. At the moment we don't have heavy GIS development but you have a developer who understands geographic databases, spatial analysis, online mapping applications and the integration of blockchain technology. GIS markets will be a future focus of ours. Our current focus is the geocashing game targeting users of foursquare, ingress, geocaching, etc. Feel free to come chat with us in the Slack group and I can explain more of our GIS + crypto concepts if you're interested.

Cheers

My thoughts exactly.. Or are you here just to bash on this coin and its community?  Huh I agree with you that all these " warnings"  that pop up are not really good or something for the image of this coin. But instead of helping to try and solve these issues, you only point them out without some sort of solution for them. If you really like this coin, you can always offer some help on the things you noticed.. It seems to me you know your stuff very well  Smiley

Why should I feel obligated ? I've done my part. lol

As a result, people have become aware that :
- Malwarebytes blocked the qt from connecting to an unknown and very suspicious IP
and..
- the debug.log file is riddled with unexpected IP traffic

Everyone can see this is a phishing scheme. Why don't you ?

@all Check your debug.log file before and after adding the line "irc=0" to ANY of your client's .conf file.
