Are you helping them with their problem? They were the first exchange to add vanillacoin after all.
Regards,

He did.  tf2honeybadger from Poloniex Staff also helped them with their wallet.
john-conner shouldn't have to work on an exchange's issue after he applied a fix (in my opinion)...Poloniex is fine for now in my opinion.

Quality exchange with quality staff.

As for feeding the trolls - Sigh.  It seems newbie accounts spewing one sentence accusations are never far behind HT's initial appearance.  The coin will speak for itself one way or the other...

Edit - Of course, C-cex on board is not a bad thing...

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

We are being added to whattomine: http://www.whattomine.com/coins/130-vnl-whirlpoolx

Can some of the miners check if the numbers are okay? Thank you.

I made a quick drop-in kernel which does 260 Mh/s on r9 290x@1100/150, no cpu at all.
515MH/s here on 280x@1100/1500 with table-driven algo
EDIT: uint2, copy of table in local memory, table holds 4*256*uint2, no sp_'s wide block trick, no 3bit table preshift
EDIT:
almost 540MH/s with overclocking
Code:
1:12 A:0 R:0 HW:0 Shares:5.49Sh/m Speed: 539.95MH/s 5s: 547.59MH/s

Yes, I explained to them to maintain backups of their wallet files therefore my decision to have them de-list VNL until they fix their problems. Cool

Thank you for your support.

Bitcoin is down 10% today, so we are looking at 3.5%, pretty much nothing. I would like to get the new miner though. Until then I will mine something else.

Can we please refrain from ad hominems.  Granted, trolls going to troll and they have no issue with perpetuating a negative atmosphere but the rest of us don't need to embrace it.

Replies are obviously going to happen but let's keep it civil...it's better in the long run for sure.

Two cents...

I agree, as someone holding this coin, for the moment, I am concerned about the faster miners. No point in mining this if some can mine 6x faster, this needs to be fixed or it will screw up distribution. I am going to scale out a little tonight and hope somehow a miner gets released, as this coin is very interesting. If the distribution gets too messed up, that won't matter however. This is a serious concern. Short term price and volume isn't an issue, distribution is a major one.

I am concerned about the faster miners.
It so happened that whirlpool hash function, which is a base for Vanillacoin PoW, is a perfect test subject for bitslicing technique. So sorry, we do some research here, coin fate is mostly irrelevant Wink

Of course I gave you bad advice. Good one is way out of your price range.

FPGA may become a reality if this coin gets big enough - I wrote a nice implementation of Whirlpool that uses no lookup tables at all.

I wrote one too, it worked on the pool but was incredibly slow. Just out of curiosity, how fast was your table-less implementation?
