I don't agree. Most people get into bitcoin through buying it, or being offered it as a payment. But some people online come to bitcoin through faucets. I believe we are still attracting new Bitcoin users through faucets, and we will continue to.

It is a nice way to get started, the amount one collects is to little to do anything substantial with their coins, so they have to look for ways to further fund their wallets to join in on the BTCitcoin economy. Invest, earn, whatever, but to spend the dime you have earned you need an extra dollar worth to buy you a coffee..

So faucets are not bad for bitocoin
It is a time killing/wasting thing to do, when you have time to kill, better click some faucets and earn a penny, than some virtual candy and earn nothing.
2015 has only a few weeks left, so how bad did it go with BTCitcoin the past year? Cool

I HATE TABLES I HATE TABLES I HA(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ TABLES I HATE TABLES I HATE TABLES

I don't think faucets really matter

You get so little from collecting satoshi's from faucets

It will take forever to earn that 1btc from faucets and plus even if you earned 1 btc from faucets, you worked hard for it by clicking all the ads and captcha it's not like you would be sitting behind your pc doing nothing

Nothing that moves currency from one place to another is bad in a serious sense.  Most faucets now generate money from their ads and other sources, so in the strict sense of the word, they still work and have evolved to a better place than the first faucets.

Nothing personal but did you saw somewhere there is google adsense?Im talking about their service, and sure they getting more and more incoem with the traffic from faucets, since some user can easy make 5 clicks on diferente faucets.Without the faucets google would have some competitor as some people advertising from others companies besides adsense. The fact is bitcoin maid people use faucets for the thinking of free bitcoins, people dont do math what they earn and how much they pay montly from energy.

Yup! google adsense may seem be in some faucets, but not all faucets have google adsense, because faucets has multiple advertisement and I think google will ban certain people who's ads are a maximum of 3, and I think many advertising company out there grab this faucet for there common good, and putting advertisement on sites google is the one who is paying the post ads and not the faucets, so technically faucets earn a lot because of the views they get.
Even when they limit the ads to 3 as i know is 3 bannerd from adsense not the max banners you can have ,atleast most of the faucets i had used before had something around 6 or 7 ads 3 from adsense and others companies, anyway google that doesnt support bitcoin yet is making an extra income from faucets that pays crypto coins.Sounds funny we dont work with bitcoins, but you can advertise to those people ,50k daily unique visits.

Not really, I mean google doesnt work with a lot of stuff, would that mean you can't use google adsense because your website is advertising your restaurant or your personal business? No, of course not, google adsense it's just a platform to help OTHER advertisers to advertise their products.

I presume the biggest revenue from the faucet owners is indeed ad revenue, im not sure if Google AdSense policies properly allow for ads to be ran un such sites, but in any case it is always good to have faucets to give the newbies their first satoshis for free.

Faucet is good for someone who want to try earn some easy bits and they can earn how to use it. ( good for newbies )
Also good for advertising ( when someone visit your site )
So I don't see the real reason why faucet is really bad ....

I do not think so, for a beginner like me faucet is important, because most of the income comes from the bitcoin faucet.

Defo and its porbably mostly younger users new to bitcoin below 16 mostly who have limited ways of earning a decent wage so it makes more sense to rape a faucet for less than minimum wage.

Yes it's not bad for beginners, but you have to know that's only micro earnings, and consume -as known- long periods of times, so we can't use only faucets to growing our bitcoins. I suggest you start to earn from some signature campaigns or some trusted trading sites.

yes i think so.
many people who do faucets spent every day at the computer just to get dime. and I think it is very harmful and a waste of time
the results of faucets are also not comparable with the signature campaign result

Who is making a huge income from faucets is adsense and others new advertisers companys that works with bitcoin, but one thing curious is google dont recognize or allow to purchase any product with bitcoin, but they allow their ads to stay at some place ,faucets that are based into income vs cost to keep it alive, and with the currency being bitcoin and only bitcoins its amazing how the things are .

Using your logic, it isn't worth it to pick up a dollar on the ground because I have a job.  That is rather silly thinking it doesn't hurt me to bend over and pick that dollar up.

Faucets are great for Bitcoin and I hope they continue to make more.

The same as people that will do an hour of work for a few dollars or volunteer for free, really. Different people value their time differently. I hate when people make blanket statements about how they think OTHERS should feel when we're all different. Some like faucets, some don't. It's asinine for people to claim that they magically know what's best for everyone else.

Although I have realized that faucets are really a very ridiculous way to get an almost insignificant compensation, I don't think they are harmful for Bitcoin structure, because actuallt I have met many people who used to sepn more time on different online business as PTCs and others and thank to faucets they are starting to get interested in Btc investments, which is undoubtelfy very beneficial to expand the influence and relevance of BTC around the business world.

Picking up a dollar is very different from spending several hours to make a dollar. Getting half a dollar on faucets may take you up to 8-9 hrs. as far as my experience on it goes. With that amount of time, you could have probably worked irl rather than spending it on rotators and faucets.
