Faucets are not bad for bitcoin because faucets are the indicator that most of the people have learned about bitcoin.

Yeah true, I got to know about bitcoin from friends, buying and selling altcoins for profit then, but soon I learnt about faucets giving out free satoshis, back then when microwallet faucets were really good, so I tried it and got 0.01 at the end of the week.

That was enough to get me started, learning about bitcoin investments, and how some 'bitcoin growing methods' are scam the hard way, but nonetheless, I knew more about bitcoin through these. Faucets are useful for beginners, but I agree that there are way too many out there. Good faucets should stay to guide newbies, so it can still help bitcoin. Smiley

Yup! and just like PTC's we can earn something by doing easy task and in just 3 hours I can earn nearly 0.005 btc with faucets, and like you said it is kinda low but you need to do something and just an easy task and you can get your btc absolutely free.

Faucets in my eyes are harmelss, really. It's just something for people who are just now getting into bitcoin, I see it as a tool for them to get to know bitcoin.

I still do faucets every now and then, just for fun when I got some free time on my hands

Faucets give people bitcoin to experiment with.

Faucet also gives money if you play faucet you will rewarded

That's true but it's not enough to actually rely on it. You won't be able to make a living of off it.

In the long run I don't think faucets are bad for bitcoin because the amount that you earn is so little, it's like finding a penny on the street.

Faucets are a good source to earn money, especially for the faucets owners, and early faucets were good as now bitcoin has a much higher value.

I agree, it is a great way to get started with bitcoin - no only collecting but learning about bitcoin.  It forces your to understand the numbers and how it is an amazing technology.

I love Bitcoin

Faucets gone then BTC price will surely drop. I learned and earned bitcoins on faucets first. Everything about bitcoin is way to complex and really hard to understand to new users. If you introduce BTC to some friends, you will lead them first to faucets after teaching them how to create their btc wallets.

I don't even understand why we still talk about faucets in 2015. I wouldn't even use them if I would be a newbie.

But Faucets are better than investing in Mining equipment and mining BTC, because there is no ROI. But we can get something from Faucets.

When the halving happens and btc doubles (which we all hope will happen) then
faucets as long as you save the btc could end up being valuable. I do the easy
ones while at work. I mean hey I am waiting for a call or have down time I may
as well get some BTC.  Even if its pennies now it could be quarters later.

only good for poor country were people live with $100 a month or soemthing, well even then if you work all day on a rotator, you can barely reach 0.005-0.01

but it's better than nothing for those people, so if you're living in one of those place and you don't have a job, i woulk go for it, but it's the only case

This is a very good point of view, regardless of what your are doing when your in front of a desktop or your laptop you can use faucets, me too when I was at work I am doing PTC's back then but now I only do faucets now that I know bitcoin and earning in bitcoin are much faster than PTC sites now we are doing a double job because of faucets and signature campaigns.

I see what you are saying, just like early faucets that were giving 1 btc in the past. People have surely thought that this is waste of time as well then.

I surely do hope that these Satoshi dust that faucets are giving nowadays will be worth some serious money down the road in the future!

If there was no profit in mining no one would mine and obviously that's not the case. Faucets are in no way better than mining, you can do it for free, yes but the profit from faucets is so small you will not even notice it.
