Just think though. In October, they can have a sale! Just in time for Christmas......
$999!!!
Pure speculation on my part. I wonder who will be buying at $1100+?

One guy over in the "Group Buy" sub-forum suggested that it would take well over 386 YEARS to break even in terms of the miner cost. That was with the usual fantasy provisions of "free electricity and no difficulty changes".
While I expected a "premium" price, this is more "Extreme Premium" pricing.

I'd probably buy a few of these if SFARDS can get the pricing down to $800, and offer individual unit purchases vs. 100 unit MOQ.
I would also like to see some test units sent to trusted veterans on Bitcointalk, so we know what we're dealing with. Otherwise I'll hold out until Bitmain launches the S7.
Yeah, i wish we had a specific confirmed time frame for the S7 or whatever they will launch next. I'm starting to think that with the price of the BTC and the halving next year... i'm not sure if the manufacturers will hold on the launch of their new chips. I guess someone will pull the trigger first and the rest will follow.

For those doing group buys: We would host for $63/KW including taxes so long as the group consolidated their bill together and consisted of at least 15kW of demand. Drop us a line if you're interested. We are located in Canada.

They won't produce anything until the next Gen comes out (from their last post in the thread)

True, but the price will probably be more appropriate when they do come out.

It's my understanding they are getting chips from Spondooliestech. So, when SPT's chips are in new rigs mining [As they are now], we may see them begin development very soon

Looks like I won't be buying one ! That`s too much wow 1129 and wait a month + 2 weeks. lee has been a very good guy to host gear. but those prices are rough.

Yea, anything above a price range of say $800 is a no go for me as well. Even $800 is a little steep, but much more of a sane price.

True, but the price will probably be more appropriate when they do come out. Possibly, but "data center ready" packaging, and "integrated liquid cooling" doesn't seem like it would come cheap. Your view of "appropriate" may be significantly different than mine. Right now it seems though that few on this forum consider $1129 appropriate My bet is that SFARDS really doesn't care much about this forum at the present time. I wonder who SFARDS has as customers that are willing to pay $1129, or are they getting a much better price?

Ok, while more recent than before, it just clouds the issue further. What chips does Spondoolies have that are newer than the Rockerbox (SP20), and where are they mining with them? What's your source for this?

Well, price >$1000 was .... predictable. MOQ=>100 only reinforced me in that belief. Their announcements and behaviour suggested that they are NOT interested in selling any miners...

Under development Modular UPGRADEABLE Miner (MUM). Looking for investors. Changing one PCB with screwdriver and you have brand new miner in hand... Plug&Play, scalable from one module to thousands.

OK, so the takeaway from all this is that SFARDS thinks they get the most return for their money by running the SF-100 in house (i.e. mining for themselves), BUT if you are willing to pay them enough, and buy 100 of them, then they are willing to forgo the in-house activity and ship off their SF-100 to a customer?
Makes a lot of sense, and in which case we can pretty much let this thread wither.
It would interesting, though not important, to know if they dual-mine, or just mine one coin?

Sometimes I wish manufacturers would just lock threads between updates. I think everyone's going a little stir-crazy from lack of new hardware recently, some people taking it pretty personally, as if Sfards had any obligation to us in terms of pricing. Not to mention, they haven't released a price to us yet, all we have heard is a third-hand account of pricing (from a very reputable member, mind you).

Sounds like someone can't count then :s Under those conditions even a U3 would make $18,000 in that time.
