People need to realise that AM has only paid out about 0.6 BTC in divs and most of that was from when it basically had a monopoly on mining for months, which is simply not going to happen with it's new chips.
Mabsark has a bot that posts this on the AM thread once a week. Saves much time over both cut & paste methods and the labor-intensive retyping system. Any chance you could refrain from quoting Mabsark? He bores me as much as he bores you. I've got him on ignore but if he gets quoted I still have to read his ***** - thanks for your consideration

I would not expect an update from friedcat today. In the past we have always gotten an update a few days after major dates like this pass, and only rarely did we get info same day. In other words... do not panic when its the 21st and there is no news.

Those who follow this particular thread are (or should be) aware of this and any panic selling now is a sure way to lose your BTC. If you've held on for this long, no reason why a little longer will matter. Personally, I need to do quite a bit of catching up on the thread as I've been away. ASICMiner started hashing at 800 GH/s-1.7 TH/s in early February 2013 ( Link) and kind of makes you wonder if he's targeting the same timeframe. Disclosure: I still own shares

It may actually still take weeks until a (positive) tapeout announcement. Everyone, don't lose your nerves! I love your FC announcement compilation, BTW. We need to map the Gen1 tapeout-date to the potential current tapeout-date, yet I think we may see arbitrary deviation due to all kinds of possible reasons. Disclosure: I own shares
We're all in the same exciting boat

Yeah, it wasn't guaranteed Jan.20th tapeout. That was the estimated date. I expect new hardware late February - early March at the earliest. But I sure anticipate a friedcat post

I'm chinese. Still no confirmed news about the tapeout. But the ASICMiner team will attend the China Bitcoin Summit 2014, which hold by UBM Group & Bitfund.pe. April 19-20, still in preparation. I got a publicity last weekend. ASICMiner is on the VIP list. First time to meet the public.

I'm interested in this too They can have chips today, but they haven't got actual physical hardware in hand yet. They would need to develop boards, tune them, and send the final designs to get mass produced. I can't see this process being under a month. I really have no idea what I'm talking about but chips =/= hardware. Successful tapeout is AMAZING news but that doesn't mean they will be on a shelf at a store near you tomorrow. They still need to get the rest of it sorted out. Be mid-Feb at the earliest unless they are magicians.

Also a lot of the hardware they have put out has seen different revisions. I think the USBs went through a few different versions before the Sapphire release which rocked, even the Cube that came out has different revs of miniblades... Even the firmware on the Cube takes time to put together. This is new gen to them, so I don't think they'll be able to hammer off boards this weekend but they will probably be pushing as hard as they can. I know that when I buy a next gen Block Erupter I'll want it to be thoroughly tested and tuned!
Also, unfortunately... We went to order some random cables from China this week and today they told us they were taking off for their holiday (Chinese New Year). They said they'd be back in the office Feb 8th. This may apply to many of the suppliers and services they may need to use in the next few weeks. So they might not only be able to start working mid-Feb. But... Again, I have no idea what I'm talking about, just going from common sense really.

I'm loving the name, mc_lovin, one of my favorite films, but I'm not sure what "ordering some random cables from China" has to do with AM working on next-gen chips. I humbly suggest the two are not connected. I'd also suggest you get your cables elsewhere because your "cable guys" are pulling a fast one

dividends have been dropping but share price rising?
What information do I not have? or is market volume too shallow to even consider.

I can tell you've been "off the grid" for a while I'll keep this short. Share price is rising in anticipation of Gen3 hardware ... coming "soon"

Right. Manufacturers will close for 3-7days in the Chinese New Year. That's the legal holiday week.

Right. Manufacturers will close for 3-7days in the Chinese New Year. That's the legal holiday week. Doesn't stop them working now though. And you can't force people not to work at "legal holiday" time. I'm sure FC is more interested in making millions that taking 7 days off.

It depends on FC's management idea and the impetus of employee. A big rest before the real battle is just reasonable. Calm down. Don't let our imagination run wild.

I'm suggesting that AM are working, not taking extended vacations just because some random cable supplying company in China gives a bs excuse about not being able to deliver on time - the two are completely unconnected I know lots of Chinese people in Thailand .... they take a couple of days off - certainly don't stop work for a month
