Maybe, the individuals selling just need the money. Maybe, they are happy with their current return. Who knows what motivates them. Personally, I think they're silly seeing as how the rising crowdsale price will lift all boats. Remember, people sold lots of AMPs at sub 1000 sat prices less than a year ago too. |

How will advertising work on the social media platform? Will advertisers be allowed to advertise a la facebook, but users benefit for all the ads they are exposed to in the form of amps, is that the idea? but you control your own information and its not shared with anybody else , so targetted advertising like seeing ads on facebook for stuff you googled wont happen?
Yes, that's about right. The disintermediated funds from marketing/advertising/media industries get directed right to the people who opt in for this content. It is similar to 'targeted', except that perspective is from a central position. From a decentralized platform, the targeting is self-selected, and offered outward. So, like typical social media, you interact with topics you're interested in, connect with people & companies you like, and this builds your local network. If you've connected with Chevrolet, for example, then they may AMP a post about their new Camaro, which you'd get a share of for watching/attending to. Furthermore, if you've done the legwork and built up a special audience of Camaro enthusiasts, and you AMP/re-share that same post out to this network, their positive reactions will also result in you getting a share of these AMPs. This incentivizes not just better content, but better curation as well, leaving spammers with expenses instead of a level playing field. Of course, I'm just using Chevrolet because everyone has heard of it. The real benefit here is that any company, large or small can handle their marketing this way, and reach customers at very low costs, without middlemen. Musicians can network p2p with their fans, authors, film studios, inventors, etc. This is not even getting into the business of handling smart contracts, which opens many new doors into this economic arena. Will users be able to op in to "general advertising" and see ads from anybody (based on their demographics I guess) who wants to advertise to them? Or you would only see ads from companies you have connecetd to, eg Chevrolet? |

Does that refer to the social network that is being built, or the whole blockchain? eg can others build services on the blockchain that Synereo Ltd would not get a small % of ?

Fee schedules have not been defined. We have a few modeled scenarios. It refers to the social network as well, but with that, the company will not make any profit, rather only gather the minimum amount possible to maintain and develop the network. Yes, others can certainly built on the new blockchain without owing fees to Synereo LTD. |
