1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: fees are very high on: June 03, 2024, 09:25:46 PM
Actually you can withdraw your BTCs through the TRON network there, the withdrawal fees will be even lower than a random on-chain BTC transaction fee.
This is not a real Bitcoin and I would never suggest anyone to withdraw bitcoin as token on alternative blockchain, especially not on something like tron chain!
People can easily get trapped in their stupid fee system with energy power bandwidth stacking crap, and they would have to pay more fees than on bitcoin main-chain.
2  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Crypto exchange DMM Bitcoin Suffers $305M Hack on: June 03, 2024, 09:19:50 PM
For those who never heard of the exchange before, it's a Japanese one. The exchange suffered a 305M loss (all in bitcoin)[1] and said they guarantee to compensate all of their users. The article mentions the link to official blog post but it's leading nowhere for me.
How much money people need to lose to finally learn not to keep coins on centralized exchanges?  Roll Eyes
I never heard about DMM exchange before and I can't find anything about it on CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap website.
Japan has a lot of stuff and services that are exclusive only for their region, DMM-Bitcoin can't work in different countries, so hackers must be locals from Japan.

3  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [No KYC] Prepaid Cards, Gift Cards & Virtual Numbers are available on Stealths on: June 03, 2024, 08:55:25 PM
We know you mostly prefer automated solutions, but it's pretty complicated to get no-KYC prepaid card with 3DS nowadays. While working on it, we added this solution temporary for people who want to make big international payments.
Why should this card be used only for bigger international payments and not for smaller?
I see that minimum is $50, that is not such a big amount, and maximum that is allowed is $5000.
With strict terms of use there is always a risk of card getting blocked and losing of money, so I would be careful with this one.
4  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Make your Bitcoins anonymous | Non custodial coinjoin coordination on: June 03, 2024, 08:41:04 PM
OP was literally celebrating when one of the forum members announced that he had terminally illness and that he is leaving the forum.
He was happy about another human being dying just because he didn't agree with him before on different things.
I wouldn't be comfortable trusting him with anything related to human beings, including privacy.
He is also making false claims about magically making bitcoin anonymous, that is impossible.

Bitcoin Is Not Anonymous.
5  Other / Meta / Re: Lol on: June 03, 2024, 08:04:39 PM
With all this talk of trying to prevent IA in the forum, how will it be prevented when it is indistinguishable from human writing?
Services like this are not cheap at all, so cheaters would have to pay for each created post, and I don't believe their claims about 100% not being able to be detected for plagiarism.
It is not that hard to identify when someone is constantly using help of AI tools for generating posts every day, and need to use only one tool for detecting that - our brain.
If enough members report suspicious posts that would be enough in my opinion, so we need more active reporters  in forum.

Eto ti tvoj Trezor što si ga hvalio toliko u prošlosti. Tongue
Što ne popuniš ta polja gdje trebaš upisati riječi od seed fraze s nekim lijepim porukama i željama? Neki pozdrav upućen majci, sestri ili supruzi onog što je napravio stranicu. Širimo ljubav i pozitivnu energiju.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The absolute insanity Congress is writing now... on: May 31, 2024, 04:37:00 PM
Now, I have seen stupid bills proposed by this house before, but this is the absolute most ridiculous piece of legislation I have ever seen.
They are surely stepping up with their crazy shit but I don't think this bill will be accepted any time soon.
I think they are creating stuff like this to shock people so that when they propose other restrictions they don't look so drastic, this is the strategy they use all the time with other law changes.

To say that not reusing an address is mixing? Man, what happens when someone only receives a payment one time and doesn't move the funds?
Should people also create new bank accounts every time they receive new fiat payment?  Tongue
I think people seriously need to think about making drastic changes with this rotten government model we live today, but I am sure Trump will ''fix'' this in next election circus show.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updates from the COPA v Craig Wright trial on: May 31, 2024, 04:28:30 PM
Wright has put up millions to cover his opponents costs in order to avoid orders to disclose the funding sources for his litigation.  The odd thing is that it's well known that Ayre is a funding source, -- so what are they so desperate to keep secret?  I wonder if there were parties funding Wright's attack on Bitcoin that would be surprising to learn about?
Liars never admit they lie and cheat so all they have left now is to fight until the end.
If there was someone else behind Ayre and Faketoshi who has funding them than they must be either very stupid or insane for burning all this money in trails.
It's funny how their propaganda website Coingeek is not talking much about trail this days Wink
12  Economy / Exchanges / Re: fees are very high on: May 31, 2024, 03:29:33 PM
i have some crypto on poloniex
You don't have any crypto, Poloniex exchange have it  Tongue
I am not sure what fees they are charging but it's surely not 240$ for bitcoin.

i am looking to send 5$ through crypto, is this normal these days?
It is more than normal if you are using non-custodial wallets, and when you don't have to depend on centralized exchanges to allow or not allow withdrawal.
13  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallets supporting Silent Payments on: May 30, 2024, 05:00:05 PM
Cake wallet just released new beta version of their desktop wallet for wind0ws and linux os, and they added Silent Payments for Bitcoin!
Anyone wanting to test silent payment please tell me and we can do test transaction between two of us.
This is still beta version and bugs are possible so please use smaller amounts.
Cake desktop wallet now also support Monero.

Cake wallet latest release:
https://github.com/cake-tech/cake_wallet/releases/tag/v4.18.0

And this is not something that can be banned or anything because it's literally just using bitcoin addresses in a way that cannot be tracked by chain analysis.
They can still be tracked, so this is not a perfect privacy solution for bitcoin, but it is still a big improvement.
14  Economy / Reputation / Re: My Interview with Famous Hardware Hacker Joe Grand aka Kingpin on: May 30, 2024, 04:37:12 PM
Hardware hacker Joe Grand is back with another hacking video:
I hacked time to recover $3 million from a Bitcoin software wallet
Another self-commercial for his, but it was really interesting video to watch, especially for people who think that something is random just because some software claims it's random.
In this case guy who owned bitcoin was happy to recover access to his coins, but I can only imagine how many people are using even weaker passwords.
Another good reason why everyone should also have offline physical backup is corruption of hard drives, this happens more often than people think.
15  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Satsrefill.com SCAM on: May 30, 2024, 03:35:00 PM
Knowing they locked  their ann thread after the reported issue speaks loader what their intention is. What funny in just a small amount they can pull this to scam. I don't know if there are existing scam accusations here or outside, but most people's posts are being skeptical to them, good thing i only see small amount deposits for them to try out then boom, a legitimate scam.
This is surely not a $20 scam, they scammed other people before, but they are collecting every sat they can until they create new domain with different name and design.

Folks, @awoken created a type 3 flag which needs out support in order to become active

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3307
Flag supported and I added the link in the first post.
Let's hope this will warn someone to stay away from this scam.

I usually check any service before deposit money, but this was looking well-designed and I thought $20 is nothing, but it seems like scammers don't care it's small or big amount lol. Binance support was actually helpful (i didnt expect), representive asked for all details including txn hash, and reported to internal team.
Thank you for reporting, and feel free to post any update if binance support replies with more information.
16  Other / Meta / Re: Service Announcements or Service Discussion > Exchanges on: May 30, 2024, 03:16:45 PM
Service Discussion > Exchanges is a better place for exchanges in my opinion.
Other exchanges already have ANN topics there, or moderators moved them in that board, and Service Announcements board can be used for announcing any other bitcoin related services.
Both child boards are in under Marketplace board so it's no mistake creating ANN topic in any of them.

17  Other / Meta / Re: Artificial Intelligence on the Forum on: May 30, 2024, 03:11:31 PM
Apparently Google's new AI search summary feature is unable to tell the The Onion is satire and believes everyone on Reddit is always telling the truth.
I even saw g00gle AI recommending someone to jump of the Golden Gate Bridge as a cure for depression, because one reddit user suggested it  Roll Eyes
This looks like a perfect new army of government ''workers'', they never complains, they are never hungry, and they don't ask to be paid anything.
Spammers and scammers are going to be top AI users, if they are not already.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Adoption is Growing on: May 30, 2024, 03:02:09 PM
I don't think that Paypal and Mastercard have good intentions with  introduction of new stablecoins and crypto credentials.
Bitcoin should be used mainly for decentralization and with this mastercard and paypal we are spinning in circles with more centralization.
Always remember that all this companies are going to fully track and report all your transactions and spending amounts.

20  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: RingWallet - Wearable Hardware Wallet on: May 29, 2024, 04:59:11 PM
I would really buy one as a souvenir Tongue
I have a bunch of souvenir-devices collecting dust in old boxes...
Open source alternative ring hardware wallet is around the corner so stay tuned Wink

It's a business and their ACE is the code. ColdCard put too much work to create the code that they have right now (they also copied others to be completely honest) and then The Passport wallet was creating using the ColdCard's open-source code. It's a commercial business, so it doesn't surprise me why they are scared.
I can argue that Passport made a much better hardware wallet and their code was totally rewritten in different language.
But I have nothing against people who still prefer coldcard that comes as a package deal with ego-maniac NKV, and list obsolete junk unusable unsafe coldcard devices is getting bigger every day... just sayin.
