I just noticed this shitposer on our local board, sharing some news (probably merit fishing via Google/AI translation). Since I never saw him before, I checked him out a bit and it turns out this guy has been busy today, posting bunch of posts that look like they were made with the help of AI and below is just one example.
I guess I was prematurely happy that we received new member in our local board  Tongue
His post history is showing that he was posting several times in Croatian board before, and it was mostly sharing cryptocurrency news.
963  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Koji bi bio najbolji BTC+ALT coin novčanik ? on: March 23, 2024, 05:31:18 PM
Nadam se da samo pomogao u odabiru. Svakako još malo istrazi i odaberi sto ti najvise odgovara. Ja osobno koristim Electrum i zadovoljan sam istim. Lp.
Vidiš da je on tražio Bitcoin + Altcoin tj- multicoin novčanik?
Svi koje si ti napisao su bitcoin-only novčanici.
964  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: March 22, 2024, 03:37:52 PM
JoyID now supports Bitcoin (and taproot). It's a passwordless wallet who its developers are also building a Layer 2 solution for bitcoin.
This looks like some web3 junk wallet, and I can't even start it in my Firefox browser because of some not supported environment error message.
I can't confirm how this wallet works so I am not going to add it in list of taproot supported wallets for now, but this could change in future.

Reporting member Briggsmarineconsult for using AI to generate his posts.
I checked with five different AI detection tools and they all confirmed content of his post in not made by human.
Please check with post below and correct me if I am wrong:

state the 5 best ways to protect cryptocurrency wallets

1. Use a hardware wallet: Hardware wallets are devices specifically designed to securely store cryptocurrency offline, making them much less vulnerable to hacking or unauthorized access. Examples include the Ledger Nano S and Trezor.

2. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA): Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring not only a password, but also a secondary form of verification, such as a code sent to your mobile device.

3. Keep your private keys secure: Your private key is essentially the password to access your cryptocurrency wallet. Never share your private key with anyone, and consider storing it in a secure location, such as a safe or encrypted file.

4. Regularly update your wallet software: Developers often release updates to address security vulnerabilities or bugs in cryptocurrency wallets. Make sure to regularly update your wallet software to ensure you have the latest security measures in place.

5. Be cautious of phishing attacks: Phishing attacks are a common tactic used by hackers to trick individuals into revealing their login credentials or details.

Well, I am under a DDOS attack. Even cloudflare couldn`t stop it. I switched to a far more aggressive configuration now.
I don't understand what would be the reason for attacking Bitmover website, unless they are just training and randomly attacking everyone they can, especially if website has some connection with Bitcoin  Tongue
Sometimes I think that hosting providers are somehow involved in attacks like this, in this way they are forcing you to upgrade and buy more expensive packages.

968  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is poloniex safe? on: March 22, 2024, 02:37:28 PM
I saw in some comments some people dissapointed or saying poloniex is scam, what do you think?
Poloniex is obviously not a scam as they exist for many years, but no centralized exchange is safe for keeping coins there like in a wallet, they are meant to be used for trading coins only, not for holding.
969  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Most secure wallet / hardware wallet for long term storage 2024 ? on: March 21, 2024, 07:25:55 PM
I've had a few various wallets over the years, but was wondering what the consensus is currently?
There is no consensus, each wallet have pros and cons.
Safest wallets are open source and airgapped devices.

Here is my list of Open Source hardware wallets:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288971.0

There are a lot of different hardware wallets nowadays, some of them are digital and others are pure metal, personally, i don't like the digital ones because i don't feel like they can last forever, but the mechanical ones are cool. I would recommend the Billfold
First, this is not exactly a hardware wallet, this is cold storage backup solution for seed words.
Second, I would never buy this Billfodl or any similar plates with individual letters, because it can get destroyed much easier.
Material stainless steel is very good but it needs to be more simple design, even regular ss washers can be used for this purpose.
Jameson Lopp tested a bunch of this metal backup plates, and Billfodl is very poorly rated:

970  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor's Twitter (X) Account Hacked on: March 21, 2024, 07:14:20 PM
Twitter is no longer a reliable source of information.  Well, Twitter isn't even "Twitter" anymore.  Elon Musk doesn't know how to handle being rich.  He's drunk with power, and he's wrecked everything Twitter once was.  He did massive staff cutbacks, and I'd be shocked if he hasn't built in backdoors in order to "oversee" things.
He is just a puppet and controlled opposition.
When you think about it a bit deeper, it's impossible for one human being to be involved in so many things like he is, and most of them are fake and/or stolen/purchased from others.

- Trezor's team member connected the company's Twitter profile to the fake app, giving the attacker a permission to post and control of the account.
Nobody is immune on phishing attacks, but I can't believe how many people didn't learn not to click random links without checking first. Tongue

People forgot when few years ago when accounts from Musk and other high profile people got hacked:

971  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Keystone 3 HW talk on: March 21, 2024, 04:47:05 PM
Yup, I just (As in yesterday) have had the battery in my 3 die.
You are not the only one with this problem, I heard many complains from their customers that batteries in Keystone 3 are much worse quality than in older Keystone.
That can be a problem with many new Lithium batteries, if you don't use them all the time (charge/discharge) they quickly become unusable.
It's not complicated to buy new one, but problem is that it is hard to replace the battery without triggering Keystone self-destruct mechanism  Tongue

Can't anyone make anything that is not crap anymore.
They can, but it would be much more expensive and not made in China.
972  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Krux Hardware Signer - new release v24.03.0 on: March 21, 2024, 04:38:01 PM
Krux has undergone such huge improvements over the past year that maybe it's good to have a new thread for it?  Maybe not.  I don't know.
Dude, your post is not readable at all, please reduce the size of those images to much smaller size, and edit your post... Roll Eyes

Hey! Yes the creator Jeff left the project to Odudex and I since "it's such a well-oiled machine now", and we've been doing our best to keep this DIY project alive and thriving.
Is Jeff still active and contributing anything, or he left the project for good?
I was always confusing Jeff and Odudex and I was thinking this is the same person, plus there are some other guys who are talking about Krux in forum Wink

PS
I saw Crypto Guide released new VIDEO instructions for building and verifying Krux from the source code.

973  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger - checking up on status, and then disaster on: March 21, 2024, 04:29:18 PM
So, I'm freaking out. I installed the recovery check app on my ledger. I tried inputting the seed phrase into this recovery check app on the ledger, and it FAILS.
This probably means that you made some mistake when you wrote seed words.
You should always double check if generated seed words are correct before accepting any coins and making transactions.
Trezor has a nice tool for this purpose called Check Backup:
https://trezor.io/learn/a/test-recovery-seed-on-model-one

One thing you could do is to generate totally new seed phrase with seedsigner or other offline device, than check if you wrote words correctly (erase and import again), and than send all coins from ledger to seedsigner address.

Or...something weird happened on the ledger?
This is your mistake, nothing to do with ledger.
974  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Has anyone heard of PKEK Crypto Exchange? There's nothing online about it=Weird. on: March 21, 2024, 03:16:20 PM
Now you see why I wanted to get some advice...which I should have done 3 months ago. Sorry this ran long. I hope maybe someone reads this & stops themselves before they go too far into the lie.
Thanks for listening & your feedback!!
Hey man sorry to hear about this and for your losses, but I have to tell you that is the standard script scammers are using with fake bitcoininvestment apps Tongue
I watched one documentary (can't remember the name) a while ago and they also used girls who milked man for more money and it all started as a romance with same story you told us.
Youtube channel Catfished also has many similar cases, you won't believe what people are doing all the time to get money.
Better watch out for any messages and calls from unknown people on social media, telegram, whatsapp, etc.
975  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [V2] Big List of Crypto Debit Cards on: March 21, 2024, 02:46:29 PM
I just received the invitation to participate in the Bitrefill card. As expected, KYC is required. I haven't done it yet, I don't have much time to analyze everything calmly. But maybe I'll sign up.
Did you signed up on their newsletter for new virtual card?
I see they are saying only ID document is needed to sign up for this card Starter tier, that means maybe they are not going to ask for additional images of your face holding the iD.
On this card you have a lifetime deposit limit up to 15,000 EUR, and 7,500 EUR Monthly/Daily spend limits, with only 200 EUR available for single Contactless payment.
With higher Plus level you need additional verification of identity and address, but you will get higher limits.

976  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: TREZOR WALLET Question about possible security risk on: March 21, 2024, 11:50:15 AM
Leaving aside the risk these genuine firmware updates possibly messing up a device & having to access via the seed phrase what's the bigger security risk?
I never heard someone messing up trezor wallet after update, and you should be fine unless power cuts down in the middle of the update, so it's better to do it with laptop.
Even if something happens you can always reset trezor and install fresh firmware again from trezor suite.
As long as you donwnload from official sources everything should be fine.

How do i know a pop up on my screen is a genuine update? and who says its not a hacker pretending to provide a genuine update 2.7.0 say it was a hacker could they take my coins from me entering the password ?
You can confirm the code on trezor website and github page.
Trezor password can easily be changed any time.
977  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor's Twitter (X) Account Hacked on: March 20, 2024, 08:39:28 PM
I also have Trezor to blame about this. They are hardware wallet company but failed not to use either the security key or the authentication app.
Strange how this could happen when they had strong password and 2FA activated in twitter, this was confirmed.
Either this was some insider leak from trezor team, or twitter has some serious security flaws, and I would not be surprised if this was the case.
I don't trust clown Musk and his twitter with anything so I automatically not blindly trusting tweets from anyone.
978  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Aqua wallet - Bitcoin, Lightning, Liquid on: March 20, 2024, 08:34:01 PM
Fee is 1% (sideshift fee)  plus miners fees on both chains.
Correct.
Just watch out when you are using sideshift exchange, scammers started creating fake Tether tokens and they already scammed some users.
Real Tether is issued by tether.to (official domain) and scammers created their own fake tether with tether.rip  Tongue
This fake domain is still active but there is no website associated with it.

979  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: DIY Seed Storage on a soda can on: March 20, 2024, 08:23:59 PM
Using aluminum for storing anything important is cheap but stupid way of doing it.
Melting point of aluminum is 660°C (1220°F) and thin can foil will melt in a second, with seed backup gone forever.
Stainless Steel melting point is 1375 – 1530°C (2500-2785°F) and it is cheaper than soda can if you buy stainless steel washers in your local store.
I also don't like complicated encoding and decoding system in bitcan.world that looks like something coming from a sci-fi movie  Tongue

This sounds like another cheap scam, so better to stay away from this.
All I could find about Pkex exchange is link to coincorp website with two domains (.cc and .com), but both of them are down and this ''exchange'' have no volume.
They have a twitter account that is still active, but they didn't post anything for years since July 2020.
