22  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor CoinJoin Testing on: May 03, 2024, 08:35:31 AM
It's official now, Trezor is dropping support for Coinjoin on June 1st, and that was expected move from them after their partner Wasabi wallet has done the same thing.
I would say that Coinjoin project is basically dead now, unless some major change happens in next few weeks, and I am not expecting that to happen.
Everyone is getting arrested and it would not surprise me if they start to question Gregory Maxwell developer who came up with this idea back in 2013.

Quote
Coinjoin in Trezor will be shut down by 1st June 2024.

We deeply value the privacy of our users, and it is with great regret that we must announce the discontinuation of the Coinjoin feature for Trezor Suite by 1st June latest, as our partner will no longer provide this service.

All funds in users' Coinjoin accounts will remain accessible even after this transition.

Stay tuned for further updates as we provide more information.

23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Edward Snowden Final Warning for Bitcoin on: May 03, 2024, 08:26:42 AM

https://twitter.com/Snowden/status/1786170805728039127

Edwards Snowden just made a tweet with final warning for everyone that privacy for Bitcoin is needed on protocol level.
I tend to agree with him on this and I really don't understand why nothing has been done regarding that for years, unless this was done intentional.
Funny comment was made by Jameson that we might take another ten years to do this  Tongue
The clock is ticking...

24  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Wallet - Open Source, Noncustodial Coinjoin Software on: May 02, 2024, 07:40:32 PM
Totally expected.
RIP Wasabi.

Many of you guys (including kruw) wasted so much precious time arguing and fighting each other for months and years, and you don't understand that we all have the common enemy.
Things are more serious than people think and they will soon start to knock on doors because you said, wrote or did something years ago.
Wasabi devs should not think they wont be arrested just because you stopped doing coinjoin after Samourai devs got arrested.
25  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OrangeFren.com - instant, KYC-free, exchange comparison on: May 02, 2024, 07:32:40 PM
Today we added 3DS-enabled prepaid Visa cards
Is this the same as buying directly from Stealths website, in terms of fees and everything else?
One suggestion is to think about doing some redesign of OrangeFren website, to make it easier to know this cards actually exist Wink

I suggest getting one when you travel✈️ or for your kid 👪. For instance I recently traveled to Buenos Aires and a friend I went with was robbed at gunpoint right next to me. But with a prepaid card you can keep your main card in the hotel safe and only loose a few bucks.
Sure, but this is virtual card, not physical, so you would probably have to give them your smartphone (with this card) and everything else you have.
Maybe better to also carry some old and empty cards, blank cards are very cheap and they can also be used as DIY open source hardware wallets and encrypted seed storage (with Satochip) Wink

Who owns Bitcoin in 2024? How many Bitcoins are there in total? Which companies or individuals have the most influence on Bitcoin? Find out the answers to these questions and many other facts about Bitcoin in this article.

Read more on our blog: https://ownrwallet.com/en/blog/who-owns-the-most-bitcoin/
Information in this article is outdated and incomplete, so you need to make some corrections.
I think that MicroStrategy by Saylor now owns over 214,400 Bitcoins, that is much more than 132,500 Bitcoins stated in your blog article.
Here is MicroStrategy Bitcoin Holdings Chart, but you can find information for other companies also on bitcointreasuries.com:

27  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Forum's admins/ global moderators/ staffs on: May 02, 2024, 07:02:54 PM
Another moderator has appeared on the forum. This is Igebotz. He became a moderator of the Nigerian section of the forum.
Good news.
Nigerian local board showed big increase in activity since it was created and adding new moderator is a great decision.
I would like to see same thing happening for Croatian board before I die or leave the forum, maybe this is just wishful thinking.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MemoryDealers aka Roger Ver Arrested! on: May 02, 2024, 06:57:30 PM
How are we at war? Kindly pardon my ignorance here as a noob , I may not have fully understood. Although I have learned not to believe everything I read on the Internet but from the news publication if there's any truth to it, MemoryDealers broke the law and he is facing the consequences for it.
It's the war of government against the people, and all of the sudden developers are getting arrested, and everyone is breaking a law if they had any connection with Bitcoin.
With the way how they are going in future you will be able to use bitcoin only with custodial and government approved services  Tongue
You don't need to be expert to understand what is happening.

I'm curious about how the statute of limitations will apply. Much of the indictment refers to alleged crimes happening many years ago.
They can change things as they like.
Imagine officials being so desperate to track, monitor and arrest ex US citizens in different countries because of this ... as if they don't have anything better to do, all terrorists and evil hackers are suddenly all gone...
I wonder what would Frédéric Bastiat say if he was alive today?

I would not defend Roger in any matter, but this is just another confirmation of why anonymity is important.
The US is putting serious pressure on the regulation of the Bitcoin system (I can't shake the impression that they put themselves as the main and only judges here) and we were afraid that they would ban cryptocurrencies.  Embarrassed
I am starting to wonder if Roger was actually right about many things  Tongue
They will probably ban Bitcoin in future, as soon as they release their CBDC crap.
Maybe they will allow Saylor and ''approved'' people to use it with special custodial wallets only.

29  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Unstoppable wallet {User experiences} on: May 02, 2024, 03:23:08 PM
Unstoppable developers just released a new version 0.38.4 of their wallet, so make sure to update in due time.
I see they made some improvements, especially since 0.38 was released few weeks ago, they finally added coin control, and their app now works much better for me:
https://github.com/horizontalsystems/unstoppable-wallet-android/releases/tag/0.38.4

PS
It would be nice if they could release desktop wallet in future.
30  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: E-devices suitable for backup storage of seed phrases. on: May 02, 2024, 03:15:08 PM
It was your mention of G-shock that prompted me to think about this method of storing seed phrases.
Advantage of using a watch is that you can easily have it on your wrist, and almost nobody would suspect what you have hidden inside it.
I have been trying to find other wristwatches that could be work in similar way, without being a smart watch, but no luck so far.
Maybe that is not a bad thing, there are plenty of G2900 available in Japan and worldwide.

Curious, does Casio (or another) produce watches with memory cells now? Smart watches are not considered
As far as I know there are no more G-shock models in production that have Data Memory.
There are other models but they have smaller memory compared to G-2900.
You can check them all here:
https://shockbase.org/function_page_dyn.php?function=data_memory

There are several Casio Databank models but I am not sure how big their memory is:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casio_Databank
https://www.casio.com/us/watches/casio/databank/

What memory does this watch use? Autonomous? If the battery is removed, discharged (as the manufacturer assured, the battery life is 10 years Smiley) or is damaged due to physical impacts, then the internal memory data will probably disappear forever.
They use cheap CR2025 battery that lasts for years with no problem, but when removed it's all gone, that could be a good thing also Wink
Casio gave it 10 year rating, but people say it lasts longer if you don't play with watch and light all the time.
31  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Taproot in Electrum on: May 02, 2024, 03:00:43 PM
I wanted to ask if Electrum allows to generating p2tr addresses. (i don't mind using the console).
Let me know.
No, but you can check out alternative Sparrow wallet that supports taproot addresses, if you need it for desktop OS.
This a decent open source wallet and it has some advantages compared to Electrum, there are pros and cons like always.

I also made a list of all wallets that currently support Taoroot:

32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Cheap & silent mini PC for Bitcoin node & blockchain explorer? on: May 02, 2024, 02:44:18 PM
You need one of these then: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmos_clock
I like the design, but I don't like the price  Shocked
Quartz mechanism is good enough for  me as a silent wall clock.

At least with the mid range Dells and HPs that I deal with, I see a high variation of power pull from the wall when using cheap generic AC adapters vs. using the OEM ones.
Better build quality and better components probably saves you 3 to 5 watts at a minimum. Over years and years of 24/7 use that does add up to a real number.
Every watt counts, and gold rated power supply makes a huge difference compared to regular ones  Wink

I'm thinking of using a Raspberry Pi5 with 8Gb of ram and a 2Tb Crucial P3 NVME disk. It's very quiet, well cooled, well supported and has lots of connectivity options. You can use a laptop as a terminal to control it, so you don't need a screen keyboard or mouse.
Does Raspberry have any plans to Pi500 version with integrated keyboard, similar like Pi400 that was released few years ago?
33  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance founder should be jailed for 36 months, US prosecutors say on: May 01, 2024, 02:35:04 PM
I don't see why is that surprise as just because prosecution asked for 36 months doesn't mean that he will automatically get that sentence, especially after he pleaded guilty.
Yeah but he looked suspiciously happy in that photo he shared, as if he made a deal with certain someone Wink

In many countries (like for example my country, Croatia) people like him wouldn't spend a single day in prison let alone few months.
I am sure he won't be in regular prison with killers or worst kind of criminals, and if Roger Ver survived 10 months in prison than CZ can do it also.
Speaking about prisons, I hear that Finland have best conditions in the world, even sauna is provided for inmates, and rooms look more like in average hotel.
Most US prisons are not like that, and I hear Canada is also asking for CZ head.
34  Economy / Exchanges / Re: eXch - instant exchange BTC / LN / XMR / LTC / ETH / ERC20 on: May 01, 2024, 02:28:10 PM
@eXch
Since you are already supporting LTC and you probably run litecoin node, may I ask if there a chance you can add support for Litecoin mweb addresses on your exchange?
This will increase overall privacy and you could be one of the first exchanges to add support for mimble-wimble in Litecoin.
Litecoin Core wallet already supports ltcmweb addresses, another wallet is forked ElectrumLTC.
35  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PNNV.com - Major update #2 - need your review, again! on: May 01, 2024, 02:17:02 PM
NO KYC EXCHANGE = MIXER.
You can't put a ''mixer'' sticker on anything you want  Roll Eyes
Bisq is open source decentralized exchange without any kyc and it's not a mixer.
You can't send Bitcoin to any exchange and receive different bitcoin back, so exchanges are not a mixer by definition.
Some third party partners can also make any bitcoin risky, even if it's coming from casinos and gambling, that is silly and it makes bitcoin fungibility questionable.

36  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 55 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: May 01, 2024, 02:00:03 PM
Added Grid+ Lattice1
I am not a fan of this Lattice1 hardware wallet and it's price, and I think it is more focused on ethereum than on bitcoin,
but since you added it already maybe you could also add their more affordable product that is used as a seed backup solution, and it's called Safepack.
Safepack is sold in pack of two cards and price is $40:
https://gridplus.io/products/safe-cards

PS
I still prefer Satochip card instead for this purpose.
37  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PayWithUs - Virtual cards - NO KYC. Pay with Crypto. on: May 01, 2024, 01:45:32 PM
What other virtual cards that are no KYC but has custom names? Mind to PM me?
Sure I can, check you PM, I don't want to hijack this topic.
Please note that there is a risk with all crypto virtual cards, so I am not giving any guarantees if cards are going to work for sure or not, and I can't be sure if any of the cards would end up in a bad way.
38  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OrangeFren.com - instant, KYC-free, exchange comparison on: May 01, 2024, 01:41:00 PM
There's a prize of 0.5 Bitcoin for correctly guessing the BTC/USD rate in a few days time. The competition doesn't require any KYC.
Crazy that I predicted very similar bitcoin price in different competition.  Shocked
Congrats to guy who won this reward Wink

We're already doing a Cryptosteel Capsule giveaway together with eXch here on Bitcointalk. We'll be doing a giveaway of MoneroKon tickets soon too, we might do it on Bitcointalk, I'm still not sure
Thank you for that, I appreciate it.
Both OrangeFren and eXch are doing some amazing things, not just with giveaways, but in general how you are operating and working in this crazy conditions of the brave new world.
39  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [No KYC] Prepaid Cards and Virtual Phone Numbers are available on Stealths on: May 01, 2024, 01:32:27 PM
Still looking for a Virtual card provider that can be used with Apple...
I think your best option is to look for apple gift cards.
There was several providers (Bitrefill, thebitcoincompany.com) who sold them for bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, but I am not sure they are still offering them.
Just make sure to use matching IP address to avoid getting rejected.

As far as I know they are providing virtual cards, not prepaid cards. This is probably the reason you were able to use it on Apple Store.
Is there any chance Stealths could provide non-kyc physical cards in future?
There is a demand for products like this.

PS
I just noticed Stealths has been listed on Kycnot.me:
https://kycnot.me/service/stealths
40  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this an obvious misuse of merit? on: May 01, 2024, 12:59:01 PM
No, this is not a reputation topic. It is about merit and not anyone's reputation. Merit related matters belong to meta.
Yes it is.
Even your topic title it is saying MISUES OF MERIT  Roll Eyes
You are talking about member and feedback he received, not about forum related stuff.

I insist that this is not a reputation issue, I think it belongs here. I am interested in knowing about the right and wrong use of merits. I think the topic is more of meta than reputation. Unless a moderator thinks otherwise.
Go ahead if you want to be silly and continue fighting with moderators and theymos Tongue
