1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH a commodity now? on: Today at 04:00:06 AM
What would be the benefit of overthrowing the decision though? Because in my knowledge about corrupt politics, as long as there's no benefit to be had when it comes to politicians, they're not taking actions really quickly, unless someone "bribes" three or more of the seats in the congress to do something about some legislations, overthrowing might not be the best decision at all. I wouldn't consider ETH as a commodity right now, I feel like it's more of a currency rather than something that you can consume because that's where I base my consideration of whether you can consume it or it's a type of service.

3  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Unofficial Gcash Thread/ Discussion on: Today at 02:11:21 AM

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between gamblers and real Bitcoin investors? on: Today at 01:37:10 AM
If you ask me, what is the hardest job? Then perhaps my answer will be the investment profession. It is a truly unique and harsh profession compared to other professions. Especially with Bitcoin and a volatile market like cryptocurrency.
It's not a profession, if it was then I should be putting in a lot of ours into bitcoin investing including my day job, you can do the investment passively so I don't get the idea why it should be considered a profession when that's not the case for most of the bitcoin investors here in the forum. I think that you're even doing it wrong when you do bitcoin full-time, unless you're a trader that can consistently make money out of your trading, you're probably going to be fine but if you're not that then you're probably not going to make it big and it would be a difficult endeavor for you. Also, this thread would probably fit better in the Trading Discussion more than the Bitcoin Discussion. Regarding gamblers, they're not really in the same realm with investors, they can't play the waiting game and the thing that they do is that they're almost always going to end up losing because in gambling, you will always be guaranteed to lose that money no matter what you do or preparations you do, with gambling, that's always going to be the case.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Allow Non-investors to discourage you in your Bitcoin journey...? on: May 24, 2024, 01:14:15 PM
I think the only investors who takes advice from non-investors are either newbie, lazy or fool, I mean why would they even take it or believe it? they are the investor they should have done their research before investing so they know more than those non-investors.
They should know how to manage their own funds, decide for their self, if they would always rely on other people they would surely end up losing more rather than earning.
I wouldn't say that because if you're taking an advice then that means you've got the initiative which means that you're a hardworking person and it's not fair to say that they're lazy just because they've asked for an advice from someone that's not inclined to what they're investing their time into, in my opinion, people who do that are most likely, people that don't have the proper connections and those that don't go out more to meet new kind of people, in a world that's full of this kind of people, it would be a disservice to yourself to not surround yourself with the people of the similar interest as you.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 24, 2024, 12:32:14 PM
For me, it's a matter of safety and the fact that people might target you and try to hijack your wins is one of the reason why I think that they take some time to claim their wins, there's also the fact that some are taking it slow and they can't process that they've won something that big, it's a life changing amount of money so it's definitely not something that you should do in a short span of time, making your mind clear will help in making sure that you're going to be doing the right thing once the money's been handed to you. Another reason that I can think of is that some winners are probably trying to hide the fact that they've won the lottery, they got to make sure that the money that they're getting isn't going to be known in public.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Disregard false religious teachings and invest for the future. on: May 24, 2024, 09:20:13 AM
You don't exactly look for religion when it comes to investing in the future, it's probably in the best of your interest that you should go for the things that will benefit you and is appropriate for your need, that's how I see things when it comes to this kind of issue. If you want spiritual guidance, go to a priest, monk, shaman, or whatever religious representative you want to seek out based on your religion and if you want to seek out financial advice, go to a financial advisor, that would make sure that you're making the right decisions and that the advice that you're getting isn't in the wrong and will be reasonable. Anything that your local priest says that you should invest into that involves money, you might want to ask some questions about it.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 24, 2024, 08:38:44 AM
I don't think that it is, in my opinion gambling is just a game where it involves you risking something to gain something more valuable than you'll ever deserve. Unless we make gambling as the core of our society, that's probably the only time that it will become a problem and I don't think that it will ever come to that point in the near future, it's just a business thing at the end of the day, no reason to be too much a stickler when it comes to this kind of thing, some people are more ambitious than you and so they build these casino empires to satisfy their hunger for easy money, maybe it looks bad but I don't think that it's going to be a big bane to our society, if we let it then probably we're going to end up saying this but it's the people that will decide this kind of thing at the end of the day.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: May 24, 2024, 07:49:57 AM
Totally agree but if you're a person that was able to win something big, I doubt that you'd be able to do some kind of rational decision so quickly, a lot of things that you really want to have is now at the grasp of your hands so it's not that easy to do the best thing whenever you get this win. There's also the fact that people are going to abuse the social contract that you're going to have to provide them some form of consolation because you've won something big, this part can go out of hand if you don't know how to say no to people then you'll end up just giving almost all your wins to people just to please them.

If this ever happens to you, always remember that you can always take a step back, congratulations, you've won a lot of money, it will deposited to your account, you can just stay out for awhile just to make sure that you're not overwhelmed by things because it will be a fast moment and a lot of thinking will happen so make sure that you're not getting to a point that you're too paralyzed to think what you need to do next.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia can evade sanction through cryptocurrencies on: May 24, 2024, 06:18:07 AM
That was a smart move by Putin and it's a smart move for most exchanges to do this too, I mean if it's against the Russian government, I don't think that they would easily comply to anti Russian matters with the ability of the Russian government to easily silence all the people that are against their rule and how they do thing and with it's army of Russian hackers that are constantly raiding different important places in the cyberspace, I think that it's for the best that they'll let things be with Russia evading sanctions through the use of cryptocurrencies, another thing that would make all of this ineffective and futile if there ever was the case that they do it is from the fact that Russia can just buy and sell stuff that they need through trading with countries that haven't complied with any sanctions against them, that's what they've been doing with all of the products that have a sanction against Russia, they buy it at an allied country and sell it for premium in the motherland.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Going to war means let's ulter the economic progression on: May 24, 2024, 05:29:07 AM
War has always been associated with altered economic progression for citizens who then become victims of the harsh economic realities they will have to face as a result of crisis. But there are some people and companies that benefit and are not really affected whenever there is a crisis for instance, the manufacturers of guns and ammunitions, pharmaceutical supplies as well and relief materials are always in profit.
That will depend though, if your country is the one that's been directly affected by the war or the epicenter of a war then you're definitely going to see an alteration in your economy as resources are being diverted to the parts of the economy that will help in support of the war, natural resources mostly will be the most affected as need for oil, metals, and land is a big deal in a war, it's a really scary time to be in it but if you're like the country of USA where you're far from the ravages of war, your economy that manufactures weapons is definitely going to be benefiting a lot in those events, the money you'll be getting out of the countries that will buying weapons from you and the money that will trickle in and the R&D of your weapons will be getting to the highest numbers, it's definitely a two side of the coin situation, you either are on the economy that's struggling or getting all the prosperity out of this war.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - Previous vs Current Cycle on: May 24, 2024, 04:01:03 AM
Is it possible to see the Era 1 and Era 2 to see if there's also some similarities with the current cycle, this chart gives me hope that there's a possibility that bitcoin will continue peaking to my target price before the next halving happens but I can never be too complacent about stuff because I know that bitcoin is a volatile market and you can never expect it to go where you want it to go because when that happens, that's when it will pull the rug under that expectations, learned a lot during those times when bitcoin was being hyped when it was still at 20k peak and then it suddenly fell and people were so mad about bitcoin when it's their fault that they were so hyped up that they didn't expect it to go down anymore.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be aware that the government and the haters envies your progress on BTC on: May 24, 2024, 03:14:31 AM
Bitcoin has been faithfully surviving in the market for a long time and it will influence in more future directions so there is nothing to fear. You can feel free to invest in Bitcoin because Bitcoin will survive. Bitcoin has reached the highest peak in the current world, so it is very likely to gain more influence in the days to come. But Bitcoin I think would be more trustworthy because the person who created the topic could be a fraud,
Exactly but the more that it grows then there's bound to be more haters and restrictions passed on that are against bitcoin and against the people that are using it, it will become even more difficult in the future or maybe we will see that there's going to be a new breed of politicians that will do the opposite and support bitcoin adoption and make it more convenient to use it more than anything out there but we can only hope and we just have to prepare for both scenario, nothing wrong with a little preparation don't you think? For now, I'm preparing for the worst case, I'm not yet halfway to what my goal is but I'm definitely in a consistent pattern that probably by the end of the year 2026, I'm already done with that preparation.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 24, 2024, 02:22:08 AM
I'd probably be dead by now because being addicted to making money means that I would disregard my sleeping schedule to the point of exhaustion and that I would be disregarding my health and I would have a hard time with keeping up with people that I care the most, so far, I can still have a good night sleep and I can still socialize and I don't get sick because of my work so I would say that I'm still around 4 or 5 at best, I don't think that I'm addicted to money making though, if you've got a really good foundation about wanting and needing material things, you won't probably get to the point that you would be addicted to it or obsessed that you end up dying or getting sick because of your obsession. I don't agree with your assessment though, 9 out of 10 are in addicted to money making? Who said that? What data are you pulling this out? If this is only a conjecture then it's possible that you might be wrong about things, and if you form that opinion out of observation in this forum then you're not seeing the bigger picture that the forum is probably not something that really takes so much of the time of many people.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shocking rate of women interested in gambling. on: May 23, 2024, 11:32:04 PM
Well, it's very funny to see them gambling but truth be told, nobody want to a liability, everybody wants to make money in whichever way money is coming from, and maybe they might see gambling as the easiest way to make money or they might have seen or advice by their friends that they are earning from it but nothing is bad in as far as they are gambling responsibly and by so doing is having an awareness of what it involved both the risks and benefits, let them be aware of it because it's very very essential.
Exactly, regardless of sexes, the need to have more money through risk is always the same thing, it just so happens that sometimes in a statistics, there's more male than female that are gamblers but at the end of it, they're missing out on something which is that people are so entranced with the promises of gambling that we disregard the epidemic of gambling itself in favor of finding how many women there are in gambling rather than be concerned at the high rates of gambling. I guess you're right about the awareness part though, it would really help a lot if we know that things will have some kind of notice to other people.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: May 23, 2024, 05:20:25 PM
They can stop but they're following a law that's above them which is the one that's in place to protect the interests of the people and mostly, of the government, I mean if there's no one that's complying with the AML policy in place, most people that are in power in the government won't have enough enough to embezzemle for their warchest that they're going to need for their next election, that's how they've been doing it all this time, they use the taxes to pocket them so they can run for office again. I don't think that they'll ever stop that KYC policy demand anytime soon, I'm pretty sure that it's never going to be really difficult for anyone to think that it's only logical to have this one in place.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy is a failure if you are consistent with it on: May 23, 2024, 08:01:26 AM
I have a similar experience with martingale. Ideally martingale works if you have infinite fund to start with, if you keep double or covering the last bet loss with every new bet. The reason why our martingale stops is we don't have enough money or patience.
Back than there used to be a gambling site that allowed auto running strategies and let us go as below as 1 satoshi per bet. I had enough bitcoins and did started my bet on 1 satoshi. Running it all day, I earned something 3000ish satoshi everyday. But running it as such for such small profit was frustrating. I got bored and increased the minimum to 100 satoshi busting it in a few hours.
So basically Martingale is basically useless because infinite fund is basically not a real thing? I think that it's a stupid way to play gambling, doubling your bet when you're losing is a recipe for disaster and it's a bad idea to be doing this anyway, this is how gamblers that are chasing losses basically lose so quickly, they try to make the recovery as fast as possible which is really stupid, I'm sure that it might work in some cases but it's not that often that it's worth doing it. I guess, if we gamble, we shouldn't worry too much about how to do those gambling system, it's probably in our best interest if we just play it how we normally play things, that's much more fun and it will extend your game for a satisfactory duration.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Foolhardy bets. on: May 23, 2024, 07:23:18 AM
Probably my most reckless was the time that I was trying to bet on slots in CoinRoyale, it was a fun game but I'm down with half of my current gambling fund, it wasn't a lot of money so I just went for it and bet on all the lines and guess what? It was an instant loss for me, I guess when you don't really care about the money and you care more about the fun, you will have an easier time accepting the losses and the occasional recklessness that you do, I've also done some bets on stupidly obvious losing teams just because the odds are too high pass up but it's not really in my mind to care so much if they lose or not, that's just how it is, you risk and you get rewarded most likely.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake Poker ($1k freerolls) on: May 23, 2024, 06:25:26 AM
Wow, $1k freerolls is a serious amount of money and they're giving it out to players that will participate the poker tournament right? It's finally a thing with Stake, they've finally got a poker on their website and I'm excited to try it out once they've already finished with implementing the feature.
this forum isn't the only platform they are advertising their casino, you need to remember that they are known globally so not having talks about poker here in the forum does not mean it is not being talked about on other forums/platforms.
This was my first thought about Stake and that they're just a staple here in the forum and then I've seen them have their own brand on the octagon and then I came to know for a fact that, whatever they have here, it's a small drop compared to how big they are as a gambling website.
20  Local / Pamilihan / Re: gusto nyo maka tipid sa kuryente? on: May 23, 2024, 05:23:38 AM
