681  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quick way to learn bitcoin trading on: March 23, 2024, 05:10:58 AM
Try paper trading OP, there's a website out there that you can practice how you trade, that way you're risking less money and you're getting the experience of trading. The experience you'd get there is definitely a big factor to how you will be able to trade with real money. It would also be a good idea to learn from other people that have been trading, ask questions like what you're doing right now, that's probably the best thing that you can do when it comes to learning how to trade, also don't make the mistake of trading more than what you can afford to lose, that amount of money should be something that you wouldn't mind losing and if the money that you can afford to lose is too small to make a decent trade or a decent win, you'd probably need to look for other ways to make money because you don't want to end up putting a lot in it and losing a lot and then you end up with no money for your basic needs. Don't come into trade expecting that you're a prodigy, that's the wrong attitude even if you did practice, crypto trading is an ever volatile market so keep that in mind.
682  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Careful if you using Solflare Solana wallet on: March 23, 2024, 03:36:30 AM
I saw that in my wallet too, but it seems that Solana has done the work in hiding the suspicious tokens that was airdropped to my account, it's not a big deal to me though as I don't often check my Solana wallet anyway and I can always just ask my friend if they know about this kind of stuff, they're only able to steal your tokens and other stuff in your wallet when you unknowingly tap and follow what they want you to do in that wallet right? Nonetheless, it's a good PSA to have because you can never be too careful especially with all these scammers out there that don't want to play fair, they're going to abusing those times that you make mistakes so you better not be doing any of those mistakes or you'd risk being a sucker and getting your bitcoin stolen.

Is there like a way to report that the token that's airdropped to your account a scam token? I think that reporting them and getting some kind reputation on the token helps a lot to know that they're a legitimate one, that kind of system could work in my opinion.

684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TimeLock for 40 years payday? on: March 23, 2024, 02:39:58 AM
Or maybe OP, you can learn to say no to some things, I assume that the reason that you're spending too much money not because you're spending it on yourself but because you're eager to spend money for someone else, be it for an individual or an occassion, maybe if you do that and you being able to learn to backpedal with your expenses, you'd probably make some progress, as @apogio pointed out, it's really difficult to do what you're doing and time consuming so I elected you to offer a solution that's much better because you still be able to use the money and it's at your disposal, you won't be having any issues with it and you're not worried for emergencies.
I can agree with this one, definitely a better deal to learn how you can manage your finances than restrict yourself with money that you could've used for emergencies as @Maus0728 has pointed out and OP either you're a rich man or a well to do with your finances that you've got a lot of excess money to do this kind of thing. For me, even though I've been a hodler for a really long time, I think that I won't be able to do a 40 year restriction on my bitcoins, I like to at least enjoy whenever I feel like I've profited enough already so that's why I can't do anything like that but if you're going to push for it OP, I wish you all the best and I do hope that you'd find a way to make things work for you. Maybe consider also what others have said about this thing that you're doing, you don't want to be starting something and then end up not committing to it because at the middle of this journey, you've found some problems, do your utmost consideration of many factors before committing OP.
685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should be looking only at the brighter side on: March 23, 2024, 02:01:31 AM
I don't see a lot of downs as a bitcoin investor, I've been an investor for a really long time and throughout the years, I haven't seen any kind of downside to my investment, I'm sure though that there's some that would consider it a down if I were to list my ups as an investor but to me, it doesn't matter because if the up is always bitcoin would always give me back the investment that I've put into it even more and as long as that's the case, I can always wait for bitcoin no matter how much I invest in it. Totally the thing that you should do when you're invested in any crypto, always look into the brighter side no matter what because it's going to be like this for bitcoin market ever since, it won't change for you so the best way that you can go in all of this is to do the adjusting in the market and always be a positive about the market.
686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC spot ETF: Wall Street's Trojan horse on: March 22, 2024, 11:02:21 PM
I don't think there's any risk here and no threat to bitcoin from ETFs.
For now, there's no foreseeable risk or threat to bitcoin, we all know how sneaky the banks are when it comes to finances and I don't think that they're any different when it comes to bitcoin ETF, they're probably figuring out how to make the most money out of it while at the same time giving the people that have invested in bitcoin and their ETFs the illusion that it's in our favor, I'm sure that they're doing that even though it's just a theory, I think that it's an illogical thing for them to do if they let things be and not do anything about it, at least that's my take on this one.

In regards to the question of OP if this is a maturization or degeneration of BTC, I think that it's a maturization, the degeneration part is the ordinals and inscriptions that's causing the transaction fees more expensive than usual, anything that improves bitcoin to me is a maturization, the opposite would always be degeneration or downgrade.
687  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are there some charges to use Bitcoin ATMs ? on: March 22, 2024, 09:34:28 AM
There are charges which are higher and that's what I have heard though I couldn't use it as there was one installed at a mall in my country by an crypto exchange and then within days the founder of this project got arrested and the ATM was dismantled. TBH we don't really need Bitcoin ATM as it's more easier in wallet and why to waste money on higher charges using Bitcoin ATM and I genuinely don' get the concept of Bitcoin ATM wherein the Bitcoin itself is meant digital.
Totally agree with this one, I see Bitcoin ATMs not as a convenience but as a way to just flaunt that you've got a bitcoin and in my opinion, using them will probably make you a target for criminals that have some knowledge about bitcoin. Regards to usage, this is definitely true, I'd rather have the easier way of doing transactions with bitcoin rather than that of using ATM to do it, much safer and I don't feel like I'm giving away that I'm using bitcoin. The only reason why I want bitcoin ATMs to exist even if I don't like to use it is the fact that there's going to be a time that someone including me that might absolutely need, don't want things for me to happen again where I ask for something and I can find it and that there's stories of crackheads and hoodlums that try to pry open a bitcoin ATM because they thought it's got money inside it.

I wouldn't really want OP to have this as their only reason to be in the forum, it's a really weird thing to say to a newbie but on one side I do agree that there's ways to make money here but it's a conflicting thing, it's probably in your best interest that you should be advising on other things, let OP discover this on their own, that way they're not overwhelmed by what they have to learn which is sometimes the thing that discourages most newbies into digging deeper because there's so much to learn all at once.
689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spending extra to keep my assets out of trouble on: March 22, 2024, 08:06:47 AM
It's a wonder to me that people don't do this kind of thing when this is basically the best way to protect yourself from getting your crypto out of the harms, although the pay is really heavy, sometimes it's the only thing that you can do, you're bound to lose more money when you skimp and just connect your wallet directly on the website that asks to link your wallet into their website. Have been doing this ever since my friend told me about this, quite expensive but at the end of the day, you're much safer. My only complaint to this is it's tiresome and really taxing to do but given that I don't do a lot of transactions anyway, might as well go to the longer but safer route am I right?
690  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be ready when it comes to selling? on: March 22, 2024, 07:18:12 AM
Follow what others are saying about not storing your crypto in an exchange, see Mt. Gox incident and FTX incident as a proof that no matter trusting most CEX look, they're likely to scam people out of their money and they really can do it whenever they please because you're basically giving them your crypto but they write you a receipt that says, you're the owner of this amount of X crypto, though they may give it back to you if you plan to transfer it somewhere else but the moment that they decide to run away with all that crypto that they're supposed to take care of is the moment that it's going to be a lesson learned for everyone that has trusted that exchange to store their bitcoins.
691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football teams create a kind of community on: March 22, 2024, 06:28:19 AM
Because they've been a fan of that team for a really long time and to be honest, I think they're all dumb or they lack the capacity to critically think even at the most obvious, when you look at it, it's almost always that the logical thing that you can do is to be a fan but at the same time be happy for other's choice of team to support but this people don't have that especially those that hurt other people just because it's the heat of the moment and they find offence that the other person is cheering on another team, that's why I arrived in the assumption that most sports fans are dumb, I've seen it first hand with people being mad of that one analyst that said that Mayweather is going to win in the fight with Pacquiao, I think he got bashed online for saying that because most Filipinos at that time don't like the idea of their favorite boxer losing.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 22, 2024, 05:43:48 AM
Even with two losses I consider Ngannou more of a legitimate fighter than Jake Paul. In fact, since Jake is fighting a heavyweight next, I see no reason why he couldn’t fight Ngannou but I suspect he will be too scared because Ngannou isn’t almost a senior citizen or a blown up MMA weiterweight.
I laughed at this more than I should've, I haven't seen Jake Paul fight a legitimate fighter, he's like trying to be Floyd Mayweather but at least Mayweather chooses the real fighters when he's fighting unlike with Jake, it's mostly people that's not in the boxing scene for a really long time and most of the time, it's more on exhibition matches, as if he's ever proven himself to the world already that he only does exhibition fights which probably makes him the money but probably not prestige and acclaim as a boxer. Boxing really needs to change as a sport organization, it's so corrupt and the fighters can choose who they want to fight or not when that shouldn't be the case, it should be a test of your might that no matter who is put in front of you, you always do your best to fight them like what Pacquiao did in his time as a boxer.
693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: brazil sanctioned law that taxes online betting in the country on: March 22, 2024, 04:06:01 AM
It's not security, they just want more ways to get money for themselves through taxes, that's how they do things in most country right? I would only support this kind of thing that the government does when I know that the money that's being taxed is being used to fund projects that benefit the many without harming any person then I'd gladly pay my taxes but if I don't see any welfare programs, public works and other government programs that help the general population then I would definitely never ever support it because that would only mean that I'm going to be enabling more money being pocketed by corrupt officials and that doesn't sit right with me in any shape or form. Brazilian government is probably needing all the money that they can get to use it on some public works that have been overbudget, I've heard that there's some parts of the country that are so bad that it's difficult to live in it.
694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: March 22, 2024, 03:22:44 AM
With how bad the probability in winning is when it comes to lottery, I don't really like the idea that the odds are overwhelming and against me so I'd rather go with scratch lottery rather than those lottery tickets where you choose the number that you'll put in your ticket, with scratch off tickets there's a chance that I can get my money back or get something out of it even though the odds is still against me. I know how debilitating and crazy it would get when I get obsessed with lottery so even though I play the scratch ticket kind I still don't overdo it or even try because I know for a fact that I'm going to get addicted to it, I'd rather not overspend in IRL gambling when that money could've went somewhere that would feed me delicious food and drinks.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake it all put of over confidence in your club on: March 22, 2024, 02:46:44 AM
Haven't tried that yet but I do support some teams that I like the most but I don't go out of my way to put an all in bet when I'm confident that they're winning, there's a difference with calculated risk and an uncalculated one and you don't want to do any of that in the case that you lose, you're losing big time and you don't want that to happen to you, maybe if you're favorite team is really strong, you wouldn't mind using betting as much as you can but the possibility of losing will always be there, not mentioning that the odds of the team you might be betting on is really low that you're probably going to make nothing even if they win.

Your friend really got the luck on his side and it would've gone either way and I'd assume that he'd blame you for your mischief since you're the one that told him to do that kind of bet but this didn't happen, it seems to me that your friend owes you a pint of beer and some food, he probably wouldn't mind with all that win.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Blocksize War is still ongoing. on: March 21, 2024, 03:59:09 PM
Much as I agree with you, I have to point out that there's ordinals floating in the network that's making it congested thus making the payments for it more expensive for those that are just using bitcoin to do transactions so even if custodial is a wrong thing for us, it still should be an option for in the cases you're going to need the money and that you don't want to be paying those high fees, they can be an option for you but nonetheless it should be a last resort kind of thing. Also, isn't BCash worth nil anymore? And it's a different kind of network anyway? So how is there a blocksize war on something that has a clear winner?
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop adding features to Bitcoin that don't facilitate its use as electronic cash on: March 21, 2024, 08:58:23 AM
Even though we don't agree with Ordinals and all kinds of things in the Blockchain, we have to accept it, because the freedom that bitcoin creates also brings things that we don't like very much... So time and the market itself to say what will survive or not... And not there is nothing we can do but let time tell who is right.
Being free doesn't that we just stand there and let them what they want, that's not being free, that's being a passive person. That's not how you do things when you want to defend your freedom, when there's enough people that have agreed that something isn't right then it's a right that we all bear to correct that error so we can continue having that freedom. As much it's their right to add some of those stupid stuff that's congesting the network then it's also our right to be vocal about how crazy that thing is and that it shouldn't even be part of this network. We can't always be letting things just pass by, some people might be okay with being a human doormat but there's more that aren't okay with that kind of set up.
698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soo, bitcoin is now over 70K on: March 21, 2024, 08:18:59 AM
Threads like this always make me wonder why people ignore good advice given by others for free? We were telling you not to hold money on exchanges for years, but greed is stronger. Either it's greed or laziness, because I'm sure that OP heard the phrase not your keys - not your coins.
Probably for the same reason that they find it counterintuitive and that they don't trust strangers to do what they want to do, that's how I see things in this kind of thing, why they don't take the logical advice. There's also the matter of convenience although I can't see how it's a strong argument but some say that it's why they're storing their bitcoins or any cryptocurrency for that matter in exchanges. It's a really weird world we're living in, people getting your trust only to snatch it down under when you least expect it. I don't believe that we will ever see people stopping to use CEX as a way to store their bitcoins for the long-term, people will always going to do that no matter how much we care that they do it and tell them that it's risky. I guess it's in our best interest that we do our own business more than we do others because they don't care at all, the people that would follow the advice would probably be following it and those that won't will never no matter how much we persuade them.
699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden resurrects 30% crypto mining tax in new budget proposal on: March 21, 2024, 06:40:26 AM
I'm starting to like Trump more and more. Although he is a Republican.  Cheesy

Good luck, America! God help us all.
You're just saying that because there's no better or alternative option, and with how the things are run in the US government, I think that a businessman is the right person to do the thing, maybe if people start electing the right people and not leaving any of them behind when it matters the most, maybe we would see something different and we'd see that the option wouldn't be just Trump or Biden and Old Joe Biden really needs to retire, there's no way that I'd want an old man that probably doesn't know how to use his email to be running a country that for better or worse, would be a burden for the next generation.

Man, they're taking a bit of a slow stroll in increasing the debt ceiling it seems that they're planning to do this kind of thing, that's probably the only reason that I can think of why they're considering reopening this regulation on bitcoin miners, no way that they've planned this through though, that's probably the most appropriate thing to say, "God help us all!"
700  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Anong altcoin ngayon ang may potential mag x10 to x100? on: March 21, 2024, 06:04:57 AM
