321  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC hit 1M ? on: March 13, 2024, 08:25:01 AM
It will eventually but not at the current halving, it's been my belief for a long time that if bitcoin hasn't reached a 100k USD in price, it's not yet the time to hope that it will be able to reach 1m USD. It will but it's useless to dream about something that's going to be impossible for the time being to happen, just take it step by step and you're going to be fine. Maybe when we see bitcoin get more adoption as time goes by and the demand will increase more than we expect then it's going to be not so bad to dream that bitcoin's going to reach 1 million in the near future.
322  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are still early in this bull run. Retails have yet come back massively! on: March 13, 2024, 07:30:47 AM
As much as I'd like to believe that we're in the bull run, it still doesn't place right with me that we haven't seen a big price correction yet and that scares me because that means I can never put all my money in so I can just wait for it to go up continuously and at the same time, I'm scared with the fact that I might miss out on selling now and then the price goes down and I can get in with more value than last time, I feel like the safest play would still be to hodl and DCA, then I just need to save the fiat that I've got right now in case of a big price correction, halving hasn't happened yet which means that this is not going to be the ATH for a long time.
323  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Google is the best tools to trade Bitcoin anonymously - only search the way to - on: March 13, 2024, 06:26:54 AM
It doesn't my guy, your ISP wull still see what you're doing which means that you're not hiding anything since they can just do a search on your online activities through your ISP and they'd know what sites you've been visiting, I don't even think that Google is giving you real privacy because they want your data and they make money out of your data so they can sell it to companies that will in turn bombard you with advertisments of their products so I don't see how using Google will be of help for privacy trading. The only way to trade with privacy is through P2P or maybe even a physical P2P, that's the only way that would make you achieve a real private trade.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 years ago, WHO announced the pandemic, whole markets crashed on: March 13, 2024, 04:39:21 AM
The price dropped to approximately $5K at that time. Seeing that it's at $72K it's about a 1400% return in 4 years, not bad. For comparison, we can note that the S&P 500 had a return of 125% in the same period, which is not bad but far from the Bitcoin return.

This end of cycle can make us optimistic after the disappointing mid-cycle returns.
The pandemic wasn't all that bad to bitcoin too because even during the pandemic, the price was still able to continue surging in prices despite the fact that people are still locked out, the cash injections by a lot of countries to help with the pandemic actually helped because it's free money that led to more people investing into bitcoin that money although not all of them did invest so one can only imagine if everyone who received those cash injections bought bitcoin too, we would've seen much higher all time high at that time.

I hope that's the case, a good end cycle but still we have to be prepared for the worst, after all, bitcoin is still as volatile as ever so even what we hoped for or predict to happen, we're still going to be surprised with what happens next.
325  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: March 12, 2024, 06:07:01 AM
The halving hasn't happened yet so make sure that you're all prepared to do something that's in the realm of logic, it's going to be crazy for the market once it hits the 100k USD mark but we have to understand that there's no corrections that has happened yet which means that it's not good to do some kind of all in right now, DCA is still the best thing to do, don't want to end up putting all your money in fears of missing out and then the correction happens which would cause some if not all to panic and those panics most of the time translates to panic selling leading to a lot of losses. My point is that despite the positivity in the market that's happening and evident right now, it's imperative that we keep a cool head no matter what happens.
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will you bitcoin holders sell if we have a major price spike? on: March 12, 2024, 05:32:47 AM
With the current positivity in the market, I think that it's quite ambitious of me to say that my goal would be around 170k USD, I know it's a weird amount for some but that way, I'm not going to easily waiver when the market shows that it's probably the peak, prepared myself too in the case that my selling price isn't met, if that's the case then I'll just continue hodling again and then just wait more for even more profit. What I'm not prepared for though is when I reach that goal but there's no sign that's the peak, I do have a plan where I sell half and then if it increases even more by about 10% I'd sell half again, but I don't think it's effective, there's probably better strategy out there when it comes to selling, hope that someone can give me some pointers.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If everyone is holding their bitcoin, will there be a balance? on: March 12, 2024, 03:13:18 AM
As much as you're being hopeful about everyone hodling, institutional investors aren't going to be passing up the opportunity to take a profit whenever they can and long-term hodling by a lot of investors, retail and institutional alike is going to make it much more expensive for bitcoin because even though no one's selling, there's a lot of people that are buying and eventually someone would want to cash in and most of the time, it's the institutional investors that are overeager to get a profit which is understandable since they need to be making money after all. I think that in the case that everyone is hodlin, there's still a balance but the balance is that the price will go up as the supply dwindles.
328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines to launch non-blockchain CBDC in two years on: March 12, 2024, 02:24:13 AM
They can't even secure their databases and government IT infrastructure in general, of course, they're going to be far more likely to screw it up if they used blockchain for whatever reason lmao. They couldn't last a single year without a hack or a database breach.
Exactly, I don't even believe that they're going to pay top dollar, the projects that they're building after all are the most low quality that they can get, they bid on the lowest price for the project and it just so happens that those lowest bid winners are so bad at what they're doing plus their employees are overworked and underpaid so much that they're not going to put in that much effort into trying to maintain or even secure their servers, I can say this because I work for them and I don't think there's going to be any changes as to how the government treats it's employees anytime soon, they got to get rid of their ghost employees if they want to realize this CBDC dream because there's no way that it's a good and will be an effective dream if it doesn't have the money backing it but then again it's CBDC so it's going to suck anyway.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is worth more than Silver on: March 12, 2024, 01:30:27 AM
But it was already worth that more than silver back then right? In it's previous all time high but definitely it's a good thing that it's more valuable than any precious metals out there, it's a really good thing that this kind of thing happens though, gives the investors confidence that bitcoin is going to be going big even more and I think that gold is going to be the next one that's needed to surpass. If you're reading this and you're still doubting that bitcoin will go anywhere, you're probably going to get left behind again and again and it's going to be a vicious cycle for you.

Objectively speaking, silver has way more utility than Bitcoin as it is used in many industries and if not for silver, a lot of things would be more expensive today. Meanwhile if all coins vanished tomorrow, the world wouldn't even notice and wouldn't feel any inconvenience. So this is just another reminder that marketcap if not a good representation of usefulness and value for society.
Well, yes that's true but the point is that people are valuing bitcoin even more than others, I think that utility alone is the reason that someone should be valued even more, I mean we don't really need the war machines of Lockheed Martin but they're more expensive stock than others that have an arguably more civilian use than their products right? So it's not utility I think, more like growth and the confidence of the investors to the product I think.
330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Demonization of politics in our society. on: March 10, 2024, 09:22:54 AM
That's because people can never be civil and some of us if not worship a lot of these politicians, I think that's the reason why politics isn't talked much about in our society or that it's frowned upon. For me though, I think that it's high time that we remove that taboo and start doing different things because if the people can have a civilized discussion in politics, we would probably see some improvements in who's the person that will elect in that position, if we're not worshiping these lying politicians, I can guarantee you that we would see a lot of these third world countries become prosperous and overall make it better for every person around the world because each country are interacting with each other and with a really good country that will have a really diplomats, it's a domino effect and it's the solution that's under our noses but it's a really radical solution because the things that we're used to will be changed and the change is going to be painful and treacherous.
331  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Ethereum next target of institutional investors? on: March 10, 2024, 08:30:11 AM
332  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Airdrop Hunting on: March 10, 2024, 06:59:05 AM
~

333  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Solana Mobile on: March 10, 2024, 06:03:28 AM

335  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines SEC will Ban Binance. Effectivity End of Feb. 2024 on: March 10, 2024, 04:32:50 AM
~

336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing into Bitcoin as self pension on: March 10, 2024, 03:39:18 AM
It's a great idea to have that plan with your investments. Having that kind of idea of what you can get from the markets is ideal. Spreading investments in different coins could be a great thing as well but having Bitcoin, as the main component of your portfolio, would be ideal. That's just my opinion. Of course, since we are here in the forum, it's a good thing that you are in the Bitcoin forum and know that it's a great investment and could give great returns in the long run.
I wouldn't recommend spreading your investments in different coins as it's not a good idea, better to stick with bitcoin for hodling purposes, any speculation money should be a different budget and it's much better that way because that would mean that you're not going to mess with your money that's supposed to be for your pension that's in bitcoin form. In terms of investment diversification, I think it's a great idea to consider bitcoin but as @Mia Chloe said, "Don't put your eggs in one basket" especially with pension, you don't want to end up seeing teeter totter in price right? That's going to make you panic so bad.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying/Selling & Using Bitcoin in El Salvador. on: March 10, 2024, 03:00:28 AM
That question can only answered by the people of El Salvador, that's the only valid answer to this question anyway. Other people that's living outside the country like me isn't going to be able to answer that, maybe those that have visited the country might be able to tell you but others would either lie or speculate about the situation, it's going to be difficult to do so OP since there's not a lot of members here that are willing to reveal that they're from El Salvador or maybe there's no people in this forum that's from El Salvador, it's a small country after all.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not try out a less popular but promising token? on: March 10, 2024, 02:25:21 AM
That's not the only reason that a lot of us are afraid of new and "promising" tokens, remember that most of them if not all aren't really promising and they're just like that because someone said so about that token and because those people are early adopters that will stand to gain the most when that token is shilled to a lot of people. Another thing that would make it difficult for someone to invest in those tokens is that there's a lot of them in the market everyday and you don't know which one's you're going to put your money into and it's probably going to take you a long time to make a profit in any of them because they're most likely the kind that would take their time in growing and it's really difficult for some of them to get in if you want an airdrop, they make you jump through hoops to garner engagement from the people and at the same time you're actively evading scams and phishing links that latch on to this airdrops.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you interested in investing in DEX's tokens in 2024-2025 uptrend? on: March 10, 2024, 01:49:07 AM
I've got no luck there and probably I was not for it. Even if I've invested during the bear market, I don't see significant gains over the period of time with this. Maybe seasonal but I won't invest for now to any of these DEX tokens. I know that it's still best to get in too early but it's also the riskiest point when you don't know the future of these dexes where there have been a bunch of them. But those that have found something good and they leaned on their decisions and have something to back with their decisions for buying it, good luck to all of you. That's the fruit of your DYOR but for me, even if I did it, it didn't resulted to fruitful results and that's why I am stopping investing into these DEX tokens.
Same, but if I'm with my friend and he talks to me about some tokens that are worth investing into, I almost always go for it because of all that he's told me, I've invested in it and so far, I've got about 5 or 6 of those tokens or NFTs or NFT games that have gained me a considerable profit but you're right even if you do invest in bear market, you can't guarantee that you're going to make a profit, I guess you're right though, DYOR is the best thing for investing in DEX tokens or for any crypto related investments, you don't want your money stuck in a limbo hoping that the token or crypto investment that you've put your money into would grow in profit, some of them just don't do it like that so it's imperative that you do the research or you risk your money for nothing. Seems that the trend for DEX tokens are a thing now, there's some talks in my circle about them but I haven't checked any of them yet.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 year of accepting crypto payment in my fashion store on: March 09, 2024, 11:48:09 PM
I think you should convert it to fiat immediately because when you go to restock, you will have to pay in your local currency. If you decide to leave the money as Bitcoin then in volatile times like this, you can think of it as an investment. Hopefully Bitcoin will be accepted by many people and its volatility and transaction fees reduce as well so people can actually hold their money in BTC without worrying if their gain has been tampered.
Exactly, I think that bitcoin isn't as good as a way to be part of your revenue because of it's volatility so it's not a good thing to save that bitcoin especially when you're running a business and from what I've heard, it's really hard to run one because you're going to think up of all the costs that you're business will have to sustain, there's upkeep cost, restocking, salary for the workers and upgrading the business and I don't think that bitcoin is up for that business sustain. I'm just talking about what I think works but it seems that you're doing just fine though so I guess you can keep doing that but do be careful as bitcoin's more suited as a means of investment rather than a currency.
