781  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: January 09, 2024, 10:44:35 AM
I don't like the stress of working 9-5 job so I would probably choose to do business but my only problem with establishing a business is that I don't have any idea what kind of business O want to do because I know that I want a niche business but at the same time makes me a lot of money but the problem is that I don't have the funds to build a capital for the business but I know that I can do it though, I just need the money to start up.
782  Other / Off-topic / Re: FAILURE: The best friend of success on: January 09, 2024, 09:47:46 AM
As much as we want to glorify failure, remember to assess each failures too before jumping back in to the game because if you don't assess what you've done wrong or what made you fail your last attempt will make you do the same mistakes again, it's smart to not stop because of a failure but it's smarter to do some sort of analysis like what chess players do when they lose, what you could've done better is probably the best thing to do so when you get back, you know what you should change to make a successful attempt.
783  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it possible to say there is no money in the bank on: January 09, 2024, 08:53:18 AM
That's because banks have what they call fractional reserve banking and what that means is that they can operate and get your money even if they don't have money on site, they're basically writing you cheques without backing up on that with any money, that's why they do that, everything is on paper with hanks. That's why they can't afford to have a lot of people withdraw money at the same day because they either don't have the money or there's not enough to accommodate everyone for that day. It's a really bad system which is why we need bitcoin to flourish and be adopted by more people.
784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effortlessly promoting Bitcoin, raising the curiosity of none bitcoin ethusiast on: January 09, 2024, 07:57:26 AM
Definitely a scary thought but to me, I feel like it's a matter of being vigilant, if you're promoting cryptocurrency then you should be more aware of your surroundings and that you're making the right decisions and careful about the people that you're talking to because that's how some people get caught with what they're doing, being a voice for bitcoin adoption comes with a risk and I dare to say that I'm alright with the risks involved because I know there's more to this with me talking about bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general than being scared to death about what might happen to me.
785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's 15th Anniversary: Nearing Maturity in a Turbulent World on: January 09, 2024, 05:43:56 AM
What if it does not? US economy is still incredibly strong as keeps growing. Or what if USD collapses and takes Bitcoin down with it because investors decide to move to other asset, like gold or another national currency. We already saw some correlation between BTC and the US stock market. So be careful what you wish for.
Still funny to me that people think that the US dollar would easily collapse, get out of your echochambers and look at the big picture, the people that have established and maintained USD as a global reserve currency has a lot at stake that they're going to do whatever it takes for that collapse to never happen. That's also another problem, that it might drag bitcoin with it when that collapse happens, there's more likely collapse that will happen in China's real estate bubble right now than the dollar collapsing in the next 5 years. Don't underestimate the power that the agencies that's got their interests pegged to how the dollar performs.
786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Who Owed Satoshi Money? on: January 09, 2024, 04:46:50 AM
How are you so sure that Satoshi is an American?
Even if Satoshi isn't an American, I'm pretty sure that there's going to be a way that the DOJ will be able to extradite him or something, that's what they're currently doing with Julian Assange right? Trying to extradite him for exercising his freedom of the press, this is going to be the same thing as that, I'm sure that Satoshi is a British-Japanese but that's just me parroting what other Internet sleuths think about the nationality of Satoshi is.

It's really weird that Satoshi is going to be exposed by someone but I don't think that he's ever gonna come out, he's probably living the good life somewhere out there observing his creation and I don't think that he will ever consider coming back or maybe even getting that bitcoin sent to him spent, that's going to be just another burn address now.
787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we even need bitcoin mixers? on: January 08, 2024, 04:31:49 PM
I don't think that need is the right word though, to me it feels like mixers are something that should exist not out of necessity but because it can exist, that's how I see them. Mixers are so privacy oriented that it's being abused by criminals to launder their money or to evade their taxes which is the reason why authorities are on the hunt for these services that caters to these criminals, it just so happens that this forum doesn't want to be complicit in the promotion of this service so they chose the hard way which is to ban the advertisement of this altogether even the recommendation of one is not tolerated. I'm weirded from what I'm reading right now, I don't exactly know who's who but there's some names in the thread that's promoting mixers before and at the same time have talked about the use of it in a positive and has gone now at criticizing the use of it like their trying to wash their hands of the dirt that mixers have left behind.
788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Your Exchange to Wallet Ratio? on: January 08, 2024, 09:59:44 AM
I would say about 1:10 ratio so around 10% for emergency money that I can exchange quickly for fiat and I store it in Binance since that's where a lot of people in my country use as an exchange and the P2P there seems to be much easier for me. I can't really remember the exact as that rationing of bitcoin was around 2020 and I have since then increased the bitcoin that I'm hodling so that's probably around 1:20 now or 1:30, I got to check up on my Binance account, it's been a long time since I've logged in on it, I might edit this to for the accurate ratio or percentage.

Edit: I've got about 4% in my Binance of my total that I'm hodling right now.
789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We dont own enough bitcoin on: January 08, 2024, 08:34:42 AM
The irony is that when we reach that number or amount of bitcoin that we think is enough, we're never satisfied. I remember that time when someone told me something about "it's the journey and not the goal that we should be thankful for", this isn't the exact aphorism that was said to me because it was said to me during one of those drinking sessions but the point of the quote is that it's the accumulation that is fun and not reaching that goal, I mean I agree with that because we've got billionaires because of that kind of attitude.
790  Other / Meta / Re: (Any Guesses?) Are there many real (unpaid) people still posting here at BCT? on: January 08, 2024, 07:24:27 AM
You can always filter users that have a campaign signatures in their accounts, I don't know if that it will still work but a forum user (I forgot the name) but he/she got a link in his/her account a link to help you ignore users that are participating in a signature campaign. There's still a lot of people that's posting don't do signature campaign, maybe if you've scoured the whole forum you'll probably see a lot of them just enjoying discussing bitcoin related and unrelated stuff. If you want to, you can always ignore users that you think aren't up to your standards when it comes to posting in the forum.
791  Other / Meta / Re: [Userscript] Auto-Save your posts to drafts on: January 08, 2024, 05:13:29 AM
Does it work on the phone right now? I've done the installation on my computer but I'm not really using my computer that much since I'm mostly at work so hopefully this is available on the phone. The phone browsers are the most notorious when it comes to that mistake that you've said and it's a frustrating feeling when you get your sentences already done halfway and your replies finished but then someone messages you or there's a notification that you need to answer then you come back only to see the webpage refreshed. I wish I could do programming like you, the stuff that I can do if only I know how to program and write code.
792  Other / Meta / Re: Moderator application for Polish local board on: January 07, 2024, 08:53:03 AM
why can't wwzsocki be given the opportunity to prove himself as a moderator on our polish board?
we should be really happy that someone has agreed to take on this privileged task
i mean the polish board, if you look at the statistics, is very clear (in terms of activity and number of users) so the new moderator would not be overwhelmed with numerous 'assignments' and we could then assess his reliability in his new role and if we were not satisfied with him after all, we would then get in touch

just my 2 satoshis!
I agree based on what I've seen in terms of his reports being a 100% but I think there's a process that needs to be followed right and this isn't the right way as many have pointed out @theymos is the one that's appointing them so it's up to him on what's going to happen next, I do hope that @wwwzocki will get the opportunity and it's not like he's asking to be a moderator for a popular board, it's just the local board for Polish speakers so give it to him or to the candidate that the Polish board thinks deserves the spot. Definitely a test would help to prove if he or the elected candidate for moderator deserves the spot, it's not like it's going to be a hindrance for someone that wants to be a moderator to do a simple test right?
793  Other / Meta / Re: FRAUD called "jvanname" create many trash at Serious discussion on: January 07, 2024, 08:05:26 AM
An educated man would be smart enough not to engage in the things you do. An educated man wouldn't mention every 2 seconds that they have a ph d. An educated man wouldn't act like an idiot every response. You are just a basic waste of space and seem to just be having a little fun trolling on the forum. Maybe 1 of these days you might actually graduate from whatever high school you attend, but for now I think you are seriously pushing your luck on this forum with all your bullshit.
Each replies that @jvanname where he mentions that he's got a Doctorate, I cringe because you're right, a title like that doesn't need to be said or mentioned because your works should do that for you right? I do think though that he is an educated man though, not every educated person really does the same thing that we think is right and we do, we're an individuals with unique mindset after all so that's to be expected, maybe dude's got his doctorate recently and he just wants to be proud of it but that's a lot of what ifs and hypothetical, dude's just a troll that gets off with pissing off a lot of people so he can spread hate and annoyance to a lot of people as much as possible. It's kind of refreshing of you @yahoo62278 to be this worked up about someone, I don't see you use the word "bullshit" a lot so it's a surprise to me.
794  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 07, 2024, 06:50:08 AM
As @adaseb pointed out, we can't know if we're on the start or in the middle of it, there's no metric to make sure that we're already in a certain part of the bull run, I feel like we're at the beginning though because the price of bitcoin is obviously going up but the problem is that it's going back and forth to 40k and 45k so unless bitcoin breaks the resistance at that price point hopefully we can see that resistance breaking but right now, I feel like we have all the time in the world to just take it easy and accumulate so if that resistance begins to break then we're going to be fine because we've bought bitcoins through DCA while waiting for the price to skyrocket unlike those that we're worried about bitcoin price or when will the bull run happen without doing anything to take advantage of the situation.
795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you actually think a Bitcoin ETF will be accepted this month? on: January 07, 2024, 05:32:17 AM
I'm not entirely sure what the SEC will decide this January about a bitcoin ETF - but the odds of it being approved are becoming more likely than not. I'm considering several factors including the pressure you talk about - so Gensler should already know the worst impacts if he wants to fight it himself.

On my side - 85% will be approved, while the other 15% will not be approved. The market will fluctuate sharply whatever the decision - but things got worse when the bitcoin ETF was rejected, but - not for long.
Was there already an article released that it's going to be delayed? Here's the article that I've seen at my Twitter alerts so I have to say that it's a bit weird that your odds might not be what it is, although a delay means nothing anyway, people can always wait for bitcoin and whatever that might be that can affect the price, they (including me) is going to be waiting no matter what happens. Hopefully they make a really long delay in the approval though, I want to accumulate some more because I'm sure that if you're percentage is correct, there's going to be a big pump in prices and I don't want to miss out on that.
796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What triggers the zeal to invest? on: January 07, 2024, 04:34:22 AM
No zeal needed, long as you understand and you like bitcoin and the utility it provides, you're doing just fine. I think those bitcoin zealot are probably the ones that we should avoid when we're invested in bitcoin because they're blind and they don't any spine to criticize something about bitcoin, one example right now is the ordinals, they're probably the worse right now because these bitcoin zealots are the ones that's propagating this stuff which is a problem for every one of us that's just trying to do our transactions.
797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sudden Flash Crash vs Slow Bleed - Which actually kills Investor(s)? on: January 07, 2024, 03:58:53 AM
Flash crash in my opinion would kill an investor because they never saw it coming and at the same time they didn't have the time to get out and the moment that they try to sell, there will be people that's already buying back so they get out much lower than the initial crash but they can't get back again because the price starts going up again due to the people that are buying at that dump or crash. Flash crash is also the better one because it's a good time for people that's waiting for an investment in this case bitcoin to go down to a certain price so they can buy to get their money's worth.
798  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit decay on: January 07, 2024, 03:22:48 AM
Is it a good habit to allow one's sendable merits to decay?
Not a good habit but you got to understand that you need to have some level of respect as to how you're going to send those merits so you don't have to do a merit spree that others might judge you to be wasting your merits. Being an active poster and lurker at different discussion boards in the forum actually helps you to choose which posts or replies you're going to have to send your merits to, and that way it also makes it look like you're not that crazy about which person you're going to give a merit and what quality post or reply is sometimes subjective.
799  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does inactive users deserve merits? on: January 07, 2024, 02:51:13 AM
They've already said that it's about the quality of the post and the contribution or impact that it's got on the forum as a whole so it puzzles me that some posts of Satoshi's that's not technical or even that relevant (anymore) is getting merits like this one. I'm not hating on it though, other users that are active quality posters could've get that and used it to increase their merits but I guess I'm being unfair as giving merit to Satoshi's post is a pilgrimage of some sort for everyone here on the forum.
800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: 🐸P2E GAMES ON GOOGLE PLAY? - FAST & EASY DEVELOPMENT 🐸 🛸 on: January 07, 2024, 02:07:34 AM
I dont know if P2E would really be still relevant as of today which considering that you would really be still needing that huge capital or investment you would be
needing to put up before you could earn some peanuts then i doubt that this one would really be getting some attention.
Im seeing those NFT monkeys on the image shown above. Are those part in real game or not?
P2E has lost it's footing which I feel really bad because it was a genuinely good concept to be introduced to cryptocurrency market and space, you can work for the money that you're going to get although it will take some investing before you can do anything on it. It's an awesome concept but the tokenomics is just problematic as there's no developer in the P2E has created the perfect balance, the most successful right now would be Axie Infinity although I can't really say they've got the tokenomics right, they were just the first to pop up and became popular that they've got a cult following that's still believing that there's a possibility of a comeback for them.
