661  Economy / Economics / Re: richdad poordad has no more guide after achieving freedom on: January 27, 2024, 06:28:17 AM
They're not the rules anyway so either you read it or not, the best thing to do is to just read a book, absorb the information, assess what you've absorbed, sift through what you think is right and what you think is wrong and then formulate your own or improve your own philosophy, that's what anyone should be doing when it comes to reading, you're not supposed to worship or follow anything blindly and always base your way of living on what you want to learn and read. That's why Rich Dad, Poor Dad works in some cases, it doesn't force you to learn by heart, it tells you stories to arrive at your own conclusion. When it comes to achieving freedom though, I don't think that's the right book to read or maybe even, the way to achieve true freedom hasn't been written yet.

664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaurd yourself this year against crypto scams on: January 24, 2024, 08:13:06 AM
There is a tendency to always think of newbies as possible victims, and we try to guide them, but one of the main mistakes is thinking that it will never happen to us, so, overconfidence is what we have to take care of.

The best scam is the one we don't know about, it's obvious, that's why you have to stay informed regardless of your level of knowledge and experience.
Yeah, we're so used to helping others not get scammed that we forget to inform ourselves that there's other scams out there and that everyday it gets more complex just to scam other people and try to hide their old scam MO, that's why it's a good thing to always be updated for new types of scams that are popping up and how they work, this forum is a helpful one to do just that and following those hacking news and programmers that do daily updates help too.
665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 120 USD to transfer 25 cents - Taproot genius transaction on: January 24, 2024, 07:21:34 AM
How I just keep hoping this whole jpeg frenzy on the BTC blockchain dies as soon as possible or something happens, rendering it impossible to carry out those schemes on the chain. I just don't want us to reach a situation that Ethereum network reached where it was impossible to carry out normal micropayments on the network over a long time because of the crypto kitties and NFTs.
I think that it's here to stick for a really long time, ain't no way that people would ever want to admit that NFT is a dirty investment and that it's difficult to make money out of them. I hope that we don't get to that point but the problem is that people miners and ordinal dudes are benefiting from all of this so they'll likely see more and more of them trying to maximize the profit from all of this.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin devs can undo 21M supply cap but can’t force changes on: January 24, 2024, 06:50:31 AM
But they can't do that even if they tweak the code right? There's releases and those releases are reviewed by several developers before they can be deployed right? So even if there's one rogue developer that will do just that, I don't think that it's going to get through and the article says theoretically which means they've got no proof even if there's already a code there already that can prove it because it can't really be done.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally I got myself my first real cold wallet on: January 24, 2024, 06:16:42 AM
Just be careful about that wallet my guy, there's no way that with everyone concerned that you've brought that and talking about the closed source nature of the wallet that your bitcoin is safe there altogether. Another I like to point out is you could've just used an Electrum wallet, cheaper and much safer or you could've asked in here what's the best one to use to store your bitcoins.
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the rush to gain profit in crypto? on: January 24, 2024, 05:36:58 AM
Because the narrative of missing out on potential million dollar crypto is so ingrained into many of us that a lot of people are always continuing to fall for the same stupid trick. It's also the fact that a lot of people that's gotten into crypto are pretty much ignorant or living in illusion that whatever they invest their money into is going to make them a lot of money when that's so far from reality. The reason for the rush would also have to do with scammers trying to force you to decide quickly because they want to not waste time and you taking your time will make you discover that they might be a scammer so they do that rushing thing.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying houses with BTC on: January 23, 2024, 10:34:32 AM
I don't like NFT so I don't think that it's a good idea to use bitcoin as a payment just to prove you're the owner of that property, and if the only reason that you're using bitcoin to pay for a property is because you want to get rid of the middleman which is the real estate agent then you're just making things more complicated than it should because they can really help you smoothen out the paperworks.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prepare for the Next Dip before the Real Bull. on: January 23, 2024, 10:00:14 AM

What evidence do you have to prove that what you say will definitely happen? Is there any evidence that bitcoin will fall even more and this is not the time to DCA? Bitcoin is unpredictable and it has dropped significantly from this year's high of $48k and now at $39k, this is arguably a good time to accumulate more bitcoin for those still there's money left. Waiting is always a bad idea when investing in bitcoin because no one can predict how bitcoin will move tomorrow.

If you are confident that bitcoin will fall further and now is not a good time to invest, I would like to ask what is the lowest price at which you buy bitcoin?
Here's my proof, the charts of the price of bitcoin with the halving timeline.

It's not that I'm confident about it, it's just that it almost always happens, when bitcoin does this it's a precursor towards the price going to pump and I'm no expert about the pricing so it's up to you and anyone else what price they want to buy bitcoin. I don't have an exact price as to when I will buy but one's I have saved around a couple of thousands of dollars then just wait for the right time.
671  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has never pass ATH before halving but it has always dip don't panic. on: January 23, 2024, 09:21:13 AM
That's the thing and I always say to my friends that whuen this happens, they better be ready with some money because they're going to not want to miss this opportunity that bitcoin's going down and most likely will still go down even more in the near future since the halving is nearby and as OP said, this always happens. The only thing that investors like us should worry about is how do we make sure that we've secured a lot of money so we can buy at a specific lowest price point in the market.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prepare for the Next Dip before the Real Bull. on: January 23, 2024, 08:51:49 AM
It's not yet the time guys! Bitcoin will definitely go much lower than that and you don't want to be buying right if you can help it because there's no way that you're going to want that anxiety of seeing the price go down again but you've already bought at a lower price. This is a golden opportunity for us to do overtime with our jobs and maybe even try to find more ways to make money so we can maximize the value of when we buy bitcoins when the price continues to dump.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 23, 2024, 07:47:01 AM
Patience is a dual thing. This can have both positive and negative aspects. Patience can help us well if we are going in the right direction and greatly hinder us if we are going in the wrong direction. But patience tells us nothing about what is right or wrong. If we adhere to the wrong strategies, which increasingly drive us into a financial hole, then we should get rid of such patience. And vice versa: patience and discipline to follow a good strategy will gradually lead us to winnings. But before you get impatient, you should test your strategies many times.
That's only a negative because you're focusing too much on just one virtue which is patience, if you do have a moral compass though and a really good one, I don't think that you're going to see patience as a duality, there's a reason why the saying patience is a virtue a true thing, because it is, I don't see how it can be a negative thing and the example that you've even given doesn't even have anything to do with patience, that's morality you're talking about.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: January 23, 2024, 07:19:16 AM
That's not really a profound thing, it's the basics, that's why there's instructions and tutorials before beginning of something, why there's a training, to prevent you from doing it wrong and in the case of gambling, just jumping right ahead and playing isn't the best thing to do because you don't know how to win or even play, like playing in blackjack, if you don't know how to play or know the basics, you'll end up losing more or worse get cheated by the dealers.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: January 23, 2024, 06:48:34 AM
That's not really easy to do what you're asking of us because not everyone can do it that easy, some people have a low level of self control and discipline that in the heat of the moment, they're not able to think logically and say to themselves that they've got to stop doing it because they're going overboard, some people just so happens to have so much fun that they forget things and they're not their usual self but it's not something that's incurable but the problem is that it takes time and that you need to be able to be consistent at this so you easily quit whenever you want to quit.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: January 23, 2024, 06:25:54 AM
I agree with his mother that he should stop gambling, because the obvious reason is that he doesn't have an income so it's not natural for him to use the money his family gives him for gambling capital, apart from that, in my opinion, his actions have gone too far because in one step he will become an addict. The concept of gambling is that he will make money any way he can, whether stealing or other things, just to gamble
Exactly, a lot of the replies are tolerating the kid just because he's almost an adult now when that's not really the case here, that money that the kid says was his is just the allowance that the kid didn't spend for the intended purposes, it's not the same thing as having his own money, with your own money to be considered your own, you need to be able to provide evidence that you've worked hard to earn that money by appropriate means.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 23, 2024, 05:46:20 AM
Doing gambling regularly is not efficient in terms of chances of winning, let's say you lose in a row for 3 days you spend $200, on the fourth day you win $190 which we think is big without us realizing the capital we spend to win
Obviously, there's no way that any person thinks that regular play equates to a regular or consistent win, sometimes it's just losses or better yet it's most of the time. The reason why we think that is because we're too focused on the now and not on the bigger picture which is being able to realize that we're not really winning anything at all unless we experience a really big win.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Roller Coaster feeling When You Gambling on: January 23, 2024, 05:19:45 AM
An hour before going to a casino?
Feeling relaxed, excited, anxious and a little sad at the back of my mind because I know for myself that it's a repeating pattern again and that I'm going to be frustrated after all this gambling is over.

After logging in and pulling out the games you are about to play?
Excited because it should be my time to sort of "relaxed" but we know that's not the whole truth.

While playing?
A switch between elation and anger but it's mostly anger but it's small bursts so if I'm not 100% in the game, I don't notice it myself.

After you experience successive losses?
Angry and frustrated and I always look for someone to blame when it's just myself to blame.

After you won successively?
Definitely feeling great but this feeling is short-lived as I don't really cash out since I don't win big amounts anyway.

After you log out whether you win or lose?
A relief but at the same time wanting more but I need to chill out to make sure I'm not going overboard with my habit.
679  Local / Pilipinas / Re: 🔥 Bitcoin Accepted Store Spotted 🔥 on: January 22, 2024, 10:07:28 AM
