have you checked your wattmeter? the ryzen cpus use close to max tdp mining on all cores , lowest i have see is close to 160 watts on a 3900 and thats with zero oc
i do drop the wattage on some using ryzen master but some are unstable
with any oc youre close to 200 watts , remeber the base pc parts ram, disk psu use wattage too so your system wattage will be near 250
same goes for the TR you’re going to need to double that wattage estimate

Is worth setting up dual-CPU 3900x on a dual CPU slot mobo?
Will that much RAM increase mining performance?
That actually sounds like a not-so-bad alternative to a threadripper gaming system in my world. My main pc is on 24/7 (that i3-7100 and z270 still kicking and rock solid with its 32Gb of ram upgrade i got it) I would take the time to set up an idle process to mine when i'm not using it. been a while since i've coded a new batch XD actually those cpus are so powerful you can set maybe 20 cores to mine and still perform most daily tasks with not much of a noticeable difference

32 cores on the TR right? , at that price you could have bought 4 3900x tho, they are going for $400 now
if the 64 core one was a linear upgrad i might bite but i heard its not i.e you get less piwer per core than a 3900x

still mining eth here, april to july/aug should be really interesting between some asic 4 gig hash falling off and if the devs do what they are SUPPOSED to do and fork to progpow.
I have a sneaking suspicion tho that the E3s and A10s owned by large farms will be stealth upgraded so they can stay on the network.
I just cannot belive Innosilicon and Bitmain left no path forward for ther large buyers. I mean they have know for at least a year plus this was coming

Seems a few of these Antminer E3 are showing up on eBay already. There are even many people bidding on them.
One of them is at $188 USD currently and claims to be able to mine "ETH/ETC" which seems like false advertising since they can't mine ETC anymore. The seller stated also "No returns or exchanges"
Another is at $1500 USD and claims to be new in the box. Anyone remember the retail price for these? Wasn't it like $800 USD when they were new? Pretty sure it will never sell.
Last one is at $278 USD and will probably go even higher as there are still over 1.5 days of auction left.
So assuming 30 days of mining left for ETH, it would make a profit of $100 assuming free electricity. With 10 cent power profit would be able half of that, $50.
The problem with eBay is that its more than likely that the buyers will just make a claim and send it back when they find out that it won't mine ETH anymore. This similar situation happened back in 2016 with the BTC halving.
i just had this asshole claim back 3x rx 480s he bought from me saying fans don’t work and these are ref models

why does this tool ignore the -di claymore commands to disable certian GPUs ? It accepts the rxboost, strap but when I put -di 012 it still loads all six gpus
From what I can see, parameters like "-di 2" is passed correctly to Claymore miner. Can you please use the Diagnostics button in the toolbar to verify the exact command line Awesome Miner uses to launch Claymore Ethereum Miner? hmm i guess ill try again i saw no error on diagnostics

1080ti has 11 gig ram , mine run at 50 mhs with eth pill

I am liking my amd ryzen 9 3900x rigs. just have a single card mining eth and the cpu mining xmr.
I have.
1 threadripper 3 vegas 1 ryzen 2700. a 1080ti 1 ryzen 3700. a 1660 1 ryzen 3800. a. 1660 4 ryzen 3900. all have a 1660
these rigs burn 7.20 at 10 cent power
they earn 13.20 so makes 6 dollars a day or 2000 a year i had to buy the 3000 series cpus. got some sales
cost was 2500 for the six cpus. under 600 for some mobos.
I sold older amd cpus. got 300 purchased some ram. cost 240.
sold a pair of simple miner intel rigs for 1000.
so maybe 3400 spent to upgrade minus 1240 is 2160
In theory I could have it all paid by Jan 2021.
notice no rx 590 no rx 580 no rx 570
i do have amd vegas and gtx 1660 along with the gtx 1080ti.
pretty happy i did the upgrades.
I have 4 3900x rigs myself nice rigs for dual mining CPU and GPU but if i had to do it again i'd by the 3x threadripper 32 cores vs 12 basical 3 in 1

According to the ETH dev call, the ProgPOW is a launch for July. So the RX 580 might have a useful life once again. Even though the ProgPOW seems to favor Nvidia's if the ASICs are eliminated from the network, maybe the profitability will go up to be marginally profitable and we might see $1/day/GPU of profits like the good old days.
The only issue with the 580 is if it has 4GB memory and those are already running into issues. My Windows 10 rigs had issued and I had to either switch to Win 7 or Linux. I wonder if we will get this issue with ProgPOW.
Regarding selling and buying Nvidia 1070, you are going to take a huge loss on the RX and pay a large premium for the 1070. There is huge demand for the 1070 due to gamers and almost no demand for the RX series.
Even more reason to dump the 5x cards either for what some are suggesting a 1660ti or 1070ti , of course if you already have the polaris card keep it I suppsoe and wait but please do not buy polaris cards for mining

The one thing i remember about ProgPoW is it runs hot as hell, think Neoscrypt hot those who have older RX cards especially that struggle to keep cool already, will have a hard time on ProgPoW that said: I do believe it will knock ALOT of hash off the ETH network due to that reason, plus a few more (not as many specialized devices out there for example)
also: reddcoin is forking soon to increase their staking APR to 20-25% (up from 5%), might be some money to be made for speculative traders ... (i have a few million staking right now)
Yeah it is a good algorytm for : gtx 1660 gtx 1080ti it also work well enough with vegas So I am looking forward to this fork. I can run 8 cpu rigs in the house. they have 4 vega 56's 1 1080ti 6 1660's 11 cardsI can run 3 2x 1080ti rigs with simple mining 6 cards3 mixed card rigs with simple mining total of 10 cards total of 14 rigs with 27 gpus. lets see if I make some decent coin here. 1660tis and 1660s are basically on par with 1070s or lower what is thier hashrate on progpow, I have 1 1660 and 1 1660ti on eth right now underwhelming cards

all you can mine is etherum or etherum classic with a rx card, you can’t mine bitcoin cant really mine any other algo decently, do your self a favor and sell it for a 10x nivida 1070 or higher if you want to have options to mine.

is there a reason why XYZ ( zcoin) does not show its profit data ? how can i fix this
I can see ZCoin (MTP algorithm) in the Coins tab, with relevant profit information. Can you please check if MTP is disabled either globally (Options dialog, Algorithm section) or in the Profit Profile you have selected? so on looking at coins menu found two things -Zcoin was speciffed with 3 different algorithms , i hid those -the pool was set to one of those other algos. Changed that and its working now
