Vega FE miner performance is horrible compared to where it should be. It’s not just this miner but other miners have the same performance issue. Just wondering if the mining dev team is looking into this.

The problem is i don't have a FE, so i can't really do anything

Not your fault Dok, it's not the miner, it's more a driver thing. Thanks for your patience, I'm sure the complaints get old after a while.
And double thanks for your continued development on what I believe is the best cryptonight miner around!

To those w/ FEs:

driver: win10-64bit-radeon-pro-software-enterprise-18.q3.1-oct1

But a couple of tricks you have to use to pull it off:

1. go into global settings and turn off HBCC memory.
2. if using SRBMiner, you have to have --enableduplicategpuid in the bat file, and then double up the threads in the config file for V8. I'm using 124 for intensity and 16 for worksize.

FE still the king, hashing V8 @ ~2125 H/s

one other thing: use the precompiled kernel that comes with SRBMiner, do not compile the kernel with the new drivers.
i use the tool to turn hbcc off thats not my issue, I am using the 18.5.2 drivers(may) though
what does enableduicategpuid do , can you post your full batch file fir FEs and your config setting?

also how do you force the use of precmplied kernels, Srb always compiles kernels on startup

thanks

Miner is very unstable on polaris cards , constant crashes and reboots on most of my rigs
v8 is significantly more power hungry, check your power supply and cooling

cooling is not the problem, neither is power , these rigs wer mining eth , which uses lots more power

vega frontiers are am horribly broken with this version on v8

no problem on 470, 570, 580 cards if you set good. you don't know to set good, sorry.
why even post troll

more juice and lower intensity, which cards?

mix of 470s 480s and 570s , all my cards are set really low core like 1130 mac or 1080 with the voltage around 900 works great on eth and had no issues on v7 using claymore.

mem is set from 1800 to 1925 max

with srb having lots of rigs randomly go down using the default picked intesities.  tried a fixed intensity of 50 and do I have to go even lower?

careful mining to crytopia , I lost all my earnings from support xmrs pool, and since they merge payments for all miners unlike other pools , you can’t eveb see how much you were paid per payout or what transaction Id your particular payouts were are part off im SOL

all this happened post fork,,Ive been mining this way for years, it seems the payment Ids are gettting lost
with the new fork

dok, my Vega FE edition is not able to push beyond  ~1300 h/s .

i even let the card compile kernels again.

Can anyone suggest solution ?

Thanks
same issue here, It might be a bug c8 implementations? I see even worse results with cast xmr
I tried rasing the intesity to 140 and i got up to 1500 but , something is really off with these frontiers
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.6.8 - V8 & algo switching on: October 20, 2018, 10:26:54 AM
Has the Claymore monitor tool for SRB miner been fixed yet ?  I think the newest SRB release broke it
ClayConn works ok. is there another tool?
PS API settings moved from config to start string, like SRBMiner-CN.exe --config config.txt --pools pools.txt --logfile logs\%date%-%random%.log --apienable --apiport 21555 --apirigname rig10
clayconn wasn’t working for me, I guess i was using the wrong config files , will try again tomorrow

I'm off XMR v8, its not worth the extra time tweaking, heat, and power draw.  Also I have seen quiet a few posts of people frying their Vegas because they were already pushing to the max of what the GPU can handle, so be careful.

All my Vega rigs are also off v8 -- I think the devs are overdoing it and I dont think they can make a u-turn that easily since they were adamant on changing algos every 6 months.

At the end of day, I am in favor of NOT blindly following fluffypony's strategy to be "different" by just making tweaks to CN7 making CN8 inefficient, power unfriendly to miners etc.

I hope XMR's future wont end up like ETN's  - where they had to abandon their CN fork and go back to vanilla CN... https://cryptobriefing.com/electroneum-fork-asics-etn-network/

Several CN7 variants like Stellite, Graft, Bittube, Quantum Ledger, Haven, Loki etc -- looking good as far project viability is concerned. Since mining Haven at below $1 awhile back, I am happy that my stash now is worth more - XHV $1.69 as I type.

Until a CN7 Asics comes around..... I will put my remaining GPU farm on CN7 purely on the power factor and keep them GPUs cool and happy.
I was running ethereum with all my Amd gear so the power use is not a big difference for me to switch to v8
it lolks like its still 50 percent more profitable to mine xmr v8 vs ethereum so Im one of the few happy folks i guess lol

Our very own Marvell2 has kindly provided his private pool infrastructure for any friends of this thread to mine Ravencoin (RVN) on. The benefit is it's a PPS pool that doesn't skim your shares so payouts are consistently better than any commercial pool out there.

We're gradually adding workers to it. Expecting to have 4 GH by the end of the day. More if many of you join us!
Don't expect to find several blocks a day (it's a small fish in a big pond) but over time, this will earn you more than any other pool out there.

Pool ip and RVN port: stratum+tcp://67.40.164.169:12345
Vardiff works, just takes a minute or two to kick in.

I have moved a few GPU over to test to see if it is more profitable.

Raven pool is up to 1800ghd, we neen more hash , its far more profitable in a small pool than those large pools
way lower fees too

using the default settings.

did anyone release a video card in supportxmr.com
miner  AMD GPU Miner V1.6.8
bat file?
Quote
SRBMiner-CN.exe -o stratum+tcp://pool.supportxmr.com:5555 -u 4JUdGzvrMFDWrUUwY3toJATSeNwjn54LkCnKBPRzDuhzi5vSepHfUckJNxRL2gjkNrSqtCoRUrEDAgR wsQvVCjZbRwhsZffhrHA6Shmehm -p change:borisivanov@gmail.com --auto --config Config\config-normalv8.txt
pause

That does not work , it still is looking for the pools.txt file

Not sure what you are trying to do but here is an example on the first page.

SRBMiner-CN.exe --ccryptonighttype normalv7 --cgpuid 0 --cgpuintensity 120 --cgputhreads 2 --cpool xmr-eu1.nanopool.org:14444 --cwallet 4A5hJyu2FvuM2azexYssHW2odrNCNWVqLLmzCowrA57xGJLNufXfzVgcMpAy3YWpzZSAPALhVH4Ed7x o6RZYyw2bUtbm12g.donation

Oh i was using the wrong parameters, thanks that fixed it

So i switched a miner from profit switch but when I try to mine it says could not not reslove host
any ideas can you try this IP

stratum+tcp://67.40.164.169::12345
In the URL you pasted here you have two ':', which might be the reason why some mining software are unable to establish the connection.

I fixed the port but still the same problem

when i run Zenemy manually it works but though Awesome miner it still cant connect

ok I figured it out, its a YIIM pool so user name is the wallet name

the other problem I have is i set  my worker names using a btach coommand , for my pools when i do it manually like so

set host=%COMPUTERNAME%
echo %host%

FOR /f "tokens=1,2 delims=-" %%a IN ("%host%") do echo %%a& set hostid=%%b

echo %hostid%

@echo off
:start
z-enemy -a x16r -o stratum+tcp://192.168.0.109:12345 -u RWV7ERvrknv9cwutNMsMoCfnWA2uU7Typq -p Marvell9.%hostid%

how do i do this with the awesmone miner  ? can i just use the host ?

Using SRBminer I'm getting 1940H/s for my 56 references flashed to 64 1407/1100 clocks, and each of them are using about +20w.  So around 160w using soft power play mod.  They are running pretty hot compared to v7 though.
Sapphire pulse 580 4GB's are still running 1000H/s, but +10watts, again temps are up so i've had to increase fan speeds from 24% TO 33% to compensate.  Not sure how I feel about the extra wattage yet we'll just have to wait for 24hr earnings to see I guess.

1000 h/s for an rx ?! my 580s max at 850 using
1200/1975 and eth straps.  With stock straps its even lower

Yeah i had some mixed memory 8GB 580's that wouldnt budge past 870H/s.  My pulse 580 4GB are just tweaked to perfection with Hynix mem and strapped for cryponote not eth.  I have a separate BIOS for when they used to run Eth.
I just thought it was strange only Vega's took the big Hash hit, maybe the miners will get more optimized down the road.  I might even just switch the vega's to something else, we'll see what profits are like.
whats the changes in straps needed fr cryptonite? for eth its usually 1500 straps down for hynix

srb seems to get close to old hash 1900 to 1987 on my 56 flashed 64

the frontiers are slow tho 1300 , they were fastest befor well over 2k
