821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: May 19, 2018, 01:46:34 AM
Minutes of Eth meeting where they discuss ProgPOW (the developers of which are on the phone)-- seems that there is a chance:

https://github.com/ethereum/pm/blob/f7de0a64dea524105de4b1913854a6f3cfe02a81/All%20Core%20Devs%20Meetings/Meeting%2038.md

Thank you for sharing those meeting minutes. I saw something on twitter about this, but it's much better to be able to read it for myself. What they are discussing is mostly over my head but I'm encouraged that they are seriously looking into this.

Of course--Oh God A Girl was in the RVN Discord earlier and said she thought they were at least receptive. I think the key is that much of the work is already done, and the IfDefElse team is prepared to tailor it to them so they don't have to expend too many resources.

This will probbaly be implemented in the next release if anything  , assuming they can push through but this would not happend for a while.  I would be nice though just to bright those hundreds of thoundsands of E3 chips and the F3 we all know is ramping up soon

this could cost shitmain millions

ccminer works but its like 30 prrcent slower than z-enemy miner, or have you been able to test solo mining with z-enemy? I don't think it has the same commands either

Yes ccminer is slower but I donīt know if z-enemy supports switch "--coinbase-addr" which is necessary for solo mining. I havenīt tried it.
solo mining to wallet is a bust , after an hr or so the rigs pointed to the wallet stop submitting shares

i dont think the wallet is set up to handle 15 or more connections for a long period of time it seems to bog down.

tried wallets on serveral dedicated machines, 3 to 4 rigs per wallet seems the max, which is impractical.

a yiimp instance and local stratum seems the only way
823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Zealot/Enemy (z-enemy) NVIDIA GPU miner. on: May 18, 2018, 11:13:45 AM
So is anyone here still solo mining? I feel like difficulty is still low enough it's almost worth the gamble if you can set it up.

You cant solo mine to the wallet , i tried that it only allows solo mining using CPU as far as I can tell, the problem too is all the mining tools out here are stratum not getwork

like the wallet requires , Enemy devs can you add a getwork flag so I can test solo mining ?  I have around 1.5 Ghs or hash and could rent more if  i could get solo mining working via the wallet or a full node instaleld on liniux

but I dont want to install the whole yimp framework just to solo mine

**edit ** i gues you can using ccminer, what are the settings for using zealot for solo mining now that the diff has dropped to under 20k

I just set up a yiimp pool on an old laptop, purely for solo mining. If you follow Tatar Xavatar's, youtubeguide and installation script it's pretty simple. Most coin wallets are installed the same way. Again, you can follow Xavatars youtube guides, look for his Verge tutorial. There is a discord channel if you get stuck.
Took me a couple of hours.
Interesting, i only have one machine i guess i could convert to linix,

for now im using nevermore to solo mine a tad slower but works fine and with the decreased difficulty and lower ping it’s probably better for me to solo in the long run.  I was getting 150ms ping on supernova and always get 1k coins lower than estimates.  If. i get yimp up this weeken i’ll switch back to enemy

thanks
824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer B3 Bytom Mining First review on: May 18, 2018, 09:04:08 AM
Congrats to all the early receivers.  I have JUST received my B3, as the nasty people at Bitmain did not ship it till the 13th (Yes I pad as soon as it was announced).  Seriously unhappy as they did the same thing with my X3 (Paid 4th April) and dispatched that on the 12th May.

I've told them I want the full balance back on the B3 from the $2600 paid to the $1600 for batch 2, but they are still denying overselling Batch 1 - otherwise they would have shipped it on time, wouldn't they.....!

Sad to hear that my possible ROI is now dead and buried  - anyone with some early Bytom that they got lots of want to donate a few to a worthy cause?Huh  Just a few from each of you to give me a break........

It was indeed fun reading through 16 pages of support and facts, so thanks for that.  Gave me something to do instead of jumping off my roof!!

Best regards
Paul.

soon to be doorstops 😂😂
825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: May 18, 2018, 09:00:11 AM
this is hillarious, can someone make a windows fork lool thos b3 will be paperweights asap
these are 1060s , imagine 1080ti probably like 700hs

I think this goes to show that there is
A lot of untapped potential in GPUs the fact that GPU minor is more powerful and efficient than a sick developed by bit mean shows that software is the way that we would beat them but the algorithms that are more fission on GPUs or more powerful and GPUs them that crap toast is a bit main makes

How do you do to calculate the hashrate of X16R?

Are you constantly changing the algorithm, how do you mean XXX Mhs? What do you mean exactly?

you look at the average hashrate over 24 hours, most yimp pools have this

Hi,

Solo mining to the Ravencoin QT wallet is definitly supported but Iīm not sure if itīs worth it.

Iīve tried it 2 weeks ago when the difficulty was down to around 17000 and I didnīt catched a single block withing 4 days with 100 MH/s throwing in the game.

But if you really want to try it here are the steps to do so:

- Open raven-qt.exe

- Settings - Configuration - Open Configuration file (at this time it should be empty)

Add the following:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcbind=ip of your rig (i.e. 10.0.0.10):8766
rpcallowip=10.0.0.1/24
server=1

- Save the file and stop wallet and restart it

- Download nevermore miner (because I think itīs the only one the supports the correct parameters)

-  create a *.bat with the following:

:mine
ccminer.exe  -a x16r -o http://ip address of rig:8766 -u user -p pass -i 20 --no-longpoll --no-getwork --no-stratum --coinbase-addr=ravencoin wallet address
goto :mine

- Fire up the *.bat file AND Good Luck

best regards

Can this coin be 20$ in 10 years? I have 14081.59990099

In ten years anything is possible. It sure would be nice. I just mined my first 1000 RVN.
not sure about 20$ and project perspercitve in 10 years, but i`m almost sure that the price might increase a lot this year. the diff is probably to skyrocket in few months because of FPGAs spreading

if somepme will made a fpga for this  then no more gpu mining for this to . as it worse than asic  . do you think its possible for this algo ? maybe hard but i read that it can be done to bed its only asic proof and no fpga proof or am i wrong ?.

You are correct that x16r is ASIC resistant, but there's not much that can be done to make it FPGA resistant at this time.
Suppose it`s already exists or very close for release; not sure where that guy got the hashrate, but:
X16R: 2 cards daisy chained get 600MH/s total (1 card worth around 4-5k USD)
(link here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3459858.msg36162701#msg36162701)

8k for 600 mhs lol , add on top of it all the work you have to do and custom cooling setups since these things have no heatsinks or fans

i can do 500 or so mhs of x16 for like 6k , now the huge difference could be the power savings though
831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it still worth to buy a 1050ti on: May 17, 2018, 10:48:06 AM
Those cards were pretty good. I have some rigs based on that architecture in my mining operations and they run just fine for months.
Regarding the price, 2400 since a medium-high price if we consider just the hardware, this changes if it is an already built one since it prices also the ability and time to build it.

Right now I would not buy it because:
- Next generation of GPUs will come out in a few months (probably we will have it on our farms around September)
- FPGA rumors about every GPU algorithm are getting stronger
- ASICs for many GPU algorithms are being released faster than ever

I would be happy to read different/opposite opinions and discuss about pro and cons

msp for those is $150 or lower but they are selling for like $209

250 for the ones with good cooling

id buy them in droves at msp but at $200 plus fuxk no

wait till july for the 11x series to drop, then pick up a bunch of those at msp

833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: May 17, 2018, 04:53:09 AM
Just as an FYI, LUX has just pre-released our new PHI2 protocol that greatly improves on the original version Cheesy

PHI2 has been designed to be FPGA and ASIC resitant...and also includes a 30-60% power reduction, and lower temps.

Full release won't happen until we do a planned fork and introduce Segwit, Smart Contracts, POW/POS/MN reward changes and a few other things

Full details on our discord if anyone wants to check it out - https://discord.gg/Drbfbtz

Plenty more to come from the LUXcore team as well  Grin

nice i have some gpu mining lux too
834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: May 17, 2018, 12:27:31 AM
Phil I'm curious what's with the thinking that GPU mining is dying?

My RX500 series are easily pulling in >$1.00 per GPU per day after power.

My Vegas are >3x that

My 1080tis make $3-$-4 per day per after power

I'm pretty happy.

The problem is not NOW, we are good

But in a few weeks or months we are really screwed with Asics and FPGAs

we will be fine x16r and X16s as well as c7 will be asic free at least till oct nov
then cryptonite coins will be forking again anyway
835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Zealot/Enemy (z-enemy) NVIDIA GPU miner. on: May 16, 2018, 09:19:54 AM
my hash rate seems considerably higer with the 1.09b
a good 5 to 10%
836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows update anyone else got wrecked? on: May 16, 2018, 01:33:08 AM
@adaseb
You are wrong, I have dozen of mining rigs and 1000+ I administrate and never ever one updated itself alone, its always noob fault

Sure I use only pro version so I can disable update the right way (gpedit.msc and change automatic update policy!)

ssme lol 😂 if youre using anything less than pro where u cant do group policy edits you have yourself to blame
i never had a box update itself with auto updates turned off in gpedit and that trash defender turned off too
837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: May 16, 2018, 01:26:14 AM
200 mix of rx 500 and 400 mining eth and c7
50 rx cards sitting idle awaiting warranty return , these are cards paid some bought end of 2016 so still in warantI have no where to put them so slacking on replacing.
100 mix of 1060 6gb to 1080ti, 1070ti and 1070s all purchased last year near map all mining raven
i have 100 rigs in the house poor power cost .15 kw
200 in garage good power cost .08.
too hot to  put more in the garage , working on purchasing a heat pump system.

got 4 vegas mining c7 to

also have 4 s9s and 3 A3s and 3 d3 all off fir the summer.

not burying any more asics except maybe a dcred mining to speculative mine
not buting gpus either till next gen
838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: May 15, 2018, 10:06:26 PM
Anyone tried to mine eth with enlargment pill, did some quick math with whattomine and eth is close to the top for 1080ti and 50 mhs per card? Also warmer times are coming and cooling problems with them and eth mining might be the solution Undecided

huh? eth is one of the higest power use algorithms for anycard

mining eth will cost u more power on a 1080ti not less lol.

any wtf, what else would people be mining if they are using eth enlargement?

pretty much all the comments in this thread pertain to eth mining , why don’t u read from at least the halfway point
839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows update anyone else got wrecked? on: May 15, 2018, 10:03:13 PM
The quickest permanent fix is to reimage with a proper linux mining OS.

Mining in Windows is like taking the short bus to school...sure it gets you there, but everyone else will be laughing at you ( and profiting over you )
nah i have 30 rigs all win 10 , never had a problem
liniux is way more anoying to me.

windows u just have to know what you are doing and disable the right stuff
840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: who bought bitmain Z9 will face a big issues now on: May 15, 2018, 10:00:57 PM
Seems like the x16r variable algorithm chain should make it pretty difficult to make an asic for it.

Still possible but unlikely.

Makes raven seem like a decent project. ZEC is about the same as far as profitability goes right now. Seems the manipulators pulled all of their sell walls on Kraken for ZEC. It will be interesting to se how far it climbs before they crash it again.

Seems like it will be a good time to sell ZEC if you have it just before it lists on Gemini
Bro kraken isnt even on top 15 places with how many zec are being trade on some exchange, that wall you saw doesnt make any difference. If you want to do ta do it on exchange with most volume
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/zcash/#markets
zec is only pumping bc its added to gemini
